Dr. Minh Luu graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a degree in Biochemistry. She then moved to Boston to attend Tufts University, School of Dental Medicine where she completed her dental education and was an active member of various community service organizations.
Dr. Luu has since achieved numerous awards for exceptional patient care as an associate dentist in her previous practices. She has also appeared on FOX CT News twice to educate the public about the importance of dental health and prevention, how dental health affects overall systemic health, and to promote free dental care days for the under-served population and for Veterans.
Being born and raised in California, Dr. Luu has had the privilege of experiencing the culture of the east coast, having lived in Boston and Connecticut for a combined 8 years before transitioning to Houston. She loves spending time with family, cooking, traveling, beaches, and being active outdoors (except for the hot Houston summer days).
Dr. Luu understands the struggles of visiting the dentist, such as fear, financial roadblocks, and time. These hurdles can prevent anyone from achieving optimal oral health and esthetics. This is precisely why she believes in making great dentistry a reality by building a trusting relationship with patients through empathy and individualized treatment plans.

I had a great experience with Candid Smiles. The staff was nice and so helpful. I was so stressful because I had an amalgam filling two years ago. I didn't know how bad the amalgam filling till I felt painful on that tooth. I researched a lot and wanted to go holistic/biological dentist to remove that filling and do the best for my case but I worried I could not afford. After reading most of the good reviews about the Candid Smiles I decided to give them a call and very soon they helped me to resolve everything at the same day with the cost I could afford. Dr Luu did a good job in my case. Highly recommend!!

Everyone at Candid Smiles Dentistry were very kind and answered all of the questions that I had to help me understand the X-Rays that were taken as well as what actions that were needed next. They were very professional and were able to help me set up my next appointments. I also loved the environment; they made me feel comfortable as soon as I stepped through the door. Fantastic service and staff. Everyone was very professional and kind. It was my first visit and they thoroughly did a first exam and cleaning. They explained everything that was going on and what they recommended. I ended up purchasing night guards through them to reduce any possible teeth grinding/relieving some pressure from clenching my teeth when sleeping. Keep in mind, I have full VA coverage to get these for free. I choose to pay. Why? Cause the VA is a disaster. Customer service and professionalism goes a long way and they earned my business. Highly recommended!

I love this dentist office so much! Dr Luu is amazing and she's quick and efficient. I did composite bonding on my upper teeth and they look stunning! I've got so many compliments on them. She's extremely educated and knows what she's doing. Her staff is awesome to! Thanks guys

I've never hugged my dentist. I hugged my dentist! I've always gotten so nervous seeing the dentist, it doesn't matter the service. I went for my second visit -a cleaning and it may not sound like a big thing but, I was able to relax my shoulders while in the chair with work being done. For me that's huge, and I'm not dreading going back. Everyone was so sweet. They were patient and very professional. Luckily our insurance covers most of what I'm getting done but more importantly after seeing the costs. It's all in line with my expectations and I don't feel like I'll be taken advantage of. I still can't believe I found them through TikTok. Just an overall good experience, at the dentist. Who knew that was a thing?! So far I can't thank everyone enough. Great stuff!!

I thought my old dentist was good until I went to Candid, wow! I just finished getting fillings with Victoria and Dr. Luu and I truthfully felt like it was just as easy and painless as getting a general cleaning done. Candid is absolutely 5 stars for a reason. If you are reading through reviews, trust me they are worth the switch!

Dr. Luu was a fantastic dentist to visit with after not having gone to a dentist in 5 years. Her dental hygienist Emily listened well, gave an amazing clean, and really helped navigate me into the right direction for future dental care and practices. The front office staff were prompt, courteous, and kind while checking in and out. I like how you can do your forms online from your phone before arriving. This really helps the process move so much faster than a normal wait time. Dr. Luu and team, Thank you for helping me with your cautious care. The dentist can give many including myself anxiety and discomfort but you helped me work through and ease all of those feelings.

Love Candid Smiles. Been coming here for a year and a half. I have had poor dental experiences in the past and I absolutely love coming to my appointments due to the kindness and care of Emily and Dr Luu. Thank you for making my visits comfortable. Highly recommend them to anyone.

Dr Luu, Lexie and Emily have always provided me with incredible dental services and they all do this with a great smile while answering all the questions and concerns I may have. I'm usually not always comfortable being at a dentist office in the first place but at Candids Smiles, I feel very welcomed to be here and its comforting to know that the whole staff truly care about you as a patient and take their time explaining over your X-rays. They go above and beyond any dentist practice I have been to and also it's a very clean and beautiful environment with a TV on the ceiling to watch Netflix so you won't be so bored, but we all joke around and have fun while they're working on my teeth and it's never a dull moment while I'm there! I love that they take their work serious while having fun at the same time. I just had a cleaning done a few days ago and my teeth feels sparkly clean :) Thanks CSD!
