  • Fluoride Varish: Ahighly concentrated form offluoridewhich is applied to thetooth's surface. It isapplied to theenamel of the tooth and can be used to help prevent decay, remineralize the tooth surface and to treat hypersensitivity.
  • Sealants: Asealantis a thincoatingpaintedon the chewing surfaces of teeth, usually the back teeth (thepremolarsand molars) to prevent tooth decay. The sealant quickly bonds into the depressions andgroovesof the teeth, forming aprotective shieldover theenamel of each tooth.
  • Comprehensive and Periodic Examinations: Information is collected during an examination, which include but not limited tothe health of a patient's gum tissue health, caries identification and oral cancer screening.
  • Digital Radiography:Sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film. Advantages include time efficiency through bypassing chemical processing and the ability to digitally transfer and enhance images. Also less radiation can be used to produce an image of similar contrast to conventional radiography. Panoramic (full mouth film), bitewing (checks bone levels and for caries interproxmially) and perapical (a film of a specific tooth or area),radiography film are a few types of film that we take in our office. Here are a couple examples of those films.
  • Dentures and Partials:Also known asfalse teeth, areprostheticdevices constructed to replace missing teeth; they are supported by the surrounding soft and hard tissues of theoral cavity. Conventional dentures are removable (removable partial dentureor complete denture). However, there are many different denture designs, some which rely on bonding or clasping onto teeth ordental implants, which is a fixed prosthodontics.
  • Implants: Adental implant is a surgical component that interfaces with the bone of the jaw or skull to support adental prosthesissuch as acrown, bridge, denture, facial prosthesis. Implants can be used to replace one tooth or multiple teeth. The implant fixture is first placed, so that it is likely to osseointegrate, then a dental prosthetic is added. A variable amount of healing time is required before either the dental prosthetic (a tooth, bridge or denture) is attached to the implant or anabutmentis placed which will hold a dental prosthetic. The position of implants is determined by the position and angle of adjacent teeth andlab simulations. The final prosthetic can be either fixed, where a person cannot remove the denture or teeth from their mouth or removable, where they can remove the prosthetic. In each case an abutment is attached to the implant fixture. Where the prosthetic is fixed, the crown, bridge or denture is fixed to the abutment with eitherlag screwsordental cement. Where the prosthetic is removable, a corresponding adapter is placed in the prosthetic so that the two pieces can be secured together.
  • Bridges: Abridgeis a fixeddental restorationused to replace a missingtooth(or several teeth) by joining an artificial tooth permanently to adjacent teeth ordental implants. Like crowns, they are bonded to the abutment teeth using a dental cement, a dental impression of the prepare teeth is taken and fabricated by a dental laboratory.
  • Composite/Tooth Color Fillings; Composite resins, or tooth-colored fillings, provide good durability and resistance to fracture in small- to mid-size fillings that need to withstand moderate pressure from the constant stress of chewing. They can be used on either front or back teeth.
  • Composite Bonding:Dental bonding is among the easiest and least expensive of cosmetic dental procedures. Unlike veneers and crowns, which are customised tooth coverings that must be manufactured in a laboratory, bonding usually can be done in one clinic visit unless several teeth are involved.

Would have given 0 Stars if able to do so. Steer clear, have been a patient for 15 years, going to her since day one (of her practice) with my family and have referred many people. Insurance changed this year, apparently Gibbons is not in UHC network ???. No one at the office confirmed our coverage this year when making appointments or asked if it changed. Even after it was noted by the office and confirmed with my wife (after our first appointment), we were never advised that Gibbons was not in network. They let two more appointments go by, no mention and when I called (after getting unpaid bills from UHC) they said its my responsibility to know they are not in their network. Even though they knew they are not part of UHC they never said anything to alert us. Given the situation and that UHC had already paid a portion, I asked what my responsibility would be, they told me 100%, no adjustment, no reduction, even though Met Life (last year) only paid aprox. 35% of what was billed and UHC already paid an equivalent amount for this years exams. Not to mention services were done on my children, which where not authorized by myself or my wife. Smug attitude, poor service, no acknowledgement they could have alerted, crystal clear memory when it favored them, but oddly unknowing when you challenge. Clearly no consideration for for my loyalty as a customer. Could have walked in off the street paid cash and they would have gotten less than UHC has already given them and after 15-years of patronage I am told "services were rendered, Dr. expects payment in full" Unacceptable treatment, and unacceptable customer service. Buyer Beware!

I've been going to Dr. Gibbons for several years now. I never regret switching from my prior dentist. Dr. Gibbons and her whole staff are so accommodating and understanding. Any time I've had an urgent matter, they get me right in and handle it. They handle everything in such a professional matter, but also with extreme kindness. I'm so lucky to have found such a great team to take care of my dental health!

My family and I have been coming to Dr Gibbons since 2004, and we are always taken care of with great skill and compassion, by excellent staff members who really care for their patients. Dr. Gibbons is knowledgeable and thorough and takes her time to explain everything she is doing and seeing, which is extremely helpful for this anxious patient. Her staff is so comforting and caring, as well. Office is clean, wait time is never long, and care received is the best. Staff is AWESOME, as well!!! (Thank you Sherry and Michelle!!!)

Dr. Gibbons and her dental hygienists are skilled and lovely people. They explain what they're doing/seeing while they're working so you understand what is going on and can answer your questions knowledgeably. Everyone is very personable and pleasant, creating a welcoming atmosphere despite the discomfort of having tools scraping at your teeth. Dr. Gibbons makes sure to examine every client during their appointment, so even if you feel the competent hygienists have covered everything, you know your oral health is taken seriously by your dentist. I have been coming here for 10+ years, and I would readily recommend Dr. Gibbons' practice to anyone looking for a kind and quality dentist.
