Worst cancellation policy. They charge $80 to $100 dollars if you cancel your appointment less the 48 hours in advance. I have never run into this policy in any of my other health care provider offices. I was also put on hold for 10 min before hanging up and redialing. This will be my last visit to this office. Clearly they care more about their bottom line then their customers.

I have recently had to deal with this office on a professional level, requesting records being transferred and such. I have never had any services provided on myself, but have been in the office and talked with dentists and staff. They have the worst professional demeanor I have ever had to deal with!! They're so rude it is mind boggling how they still have a viable business. I suggest finding a more professional atmosphere for anyone looking for a new dentist.

This is by FAR the best office I have been to and I've been to quite a few. When I first came here I was unhappy with my smile and I wanted to replace a missing front tooth. It only took a couple of weeks and I was able to get the smile I've always dreamed of. It wasn't a small procedure either! I had all front 4 teeth crowned and gums lasered off. The staff was incredibly thoughtful and checked in with me multiple times throughout my procedure to make sure I was doing okay. I couldn't have asked for a better smile.

I went for a routine cleaning and exam. They immediately asked to do a full set of x-rays. I politely declined, i had them done within the past year, am not at risk of any diseases, am not experiencing any issues and am also currently nursing. I was told they needed to check with the Dr because they can't see me if I don't have x-rays done. At this point, Dr. Kay comes in and requests I do the x-rays or at least minimal ones rather than a full panel. I politely decline saying I'm not comfortable with it and don't feel it's necessary. She explains they cannot conduct a cleaning or exam without x-rays. When I question her on this because it's done no problem when I was pregnant, she pushes back with it's the law "check with the oregon board of dentistry". After leaving the office without service, I did just that. This is what it says verbatim " The Board does not have a time requirement for how often radiographs or X-rays are to be taken. So if your Dentist says we (the Board) require X-rays every year, that is not true." The fact that anyone in a medical profession would try to intimidate a patient into receiving a non-essential treatment they are not comfortable with by claiming it to be the law is beyond me! They have the right to require it if they choose for their patients. As per the Oregon Board is Dentistry " The decision when to take or not to take radiographs is the responsibility of an Oregon licensed Dentist or an Expanded Practice Permit Dental Hygienist and is based on factors including the patient's oral health, patient's age, the risk for disease and any sign or symptoms of oral disease that a patient may be experiencing." However, they do not have the right to try and intimidate patients with lies. Had she had a reasonable explanation why myself as an individual patient needed it, I may have felt differently. Instead, she kept falling back on I can't do an exam without one. She continued to press that I do at least 4 panels despite me expressing I am not comfortable with it while still nursing. Dishonesty has no place in any healthcare field.

Very friendly staff. Dr. Lee was very professional. The surgery he performed was painless. If anything my fears got the best of me, but I left feeling just fine. The follow up call was a nice touch too. Highly recommend if you're looking for a dentist.

I just wanted to check in on my latest experience at Canby family dental. I've been with Dr Kay and Dr Chris here at Canby family dental for almost 20 years. I recently broke tooth #24. Unfortunately it need to be extracted, and a bridge put in. My initial appointment was Thursday 20th. They got me in next day for extraction. It went well. My follow up appt is next Friday, and the process itself will take about 5-6 weeks. Everything was explained thoroughly, all questions answered. The assistants were awesome, I got a blanket and was able to listen to my favorite podcast while the work was being done. Also, I want to mention that Crystal at the front desk is an insurance expert. My insurance situation is rather complicated, but not for Canby family dental! They had everything dialed in and ready to go, and this quote / authorization was done in less than 24 hrs. I know this is a lot of work, and I greatly appreciate it. The procedure was painless, and I can't wait to see my new bridge. Dennis Hildebrand

I do not believe it is right to only share my negative experience at Canby family dental. So I will start out with the positive first. The front office staff and dental hygienist were all super friendly and professional. My issue started when Dr Lee said I needed to redo a filling from when I was a kid. I currently had no problems with the tooth. But trusted him so they redid the filling. Then I started having problems. Finally I came back and he confirmed I needed to pull the tooth or have a root canal. I agreed to keep my tooth and have the root canal. But immediately after the root canal I was in worse pain. (Which from what I researched is not common ) later that night we called the emergency number and didn't hear back from Dr Lee until 12 the next day. He told me to go to the emergency hospital. Because now my face was getting more swollen. The ER sent me to Portland to get better care. It was there they discovered some particles had been pushed through the roots and caused a infection. At this time the side of my face was the size of a football and I was barely able to breathe. They rushed into surgery and put a hole in my throat to save my life. After a 4 days in the hospital to recover and 1 week at home. We asked DR Lee for our money back. They took a few days to get back to us. But told us they would not refund our money. They said they will not charge us for the crown. But that made no sense, since they pulled my tooth in the hospital, so of course I never had the crown put on. I have never missed a day of work my whole life until this hospital stay. And I believe DR Lee is being unreasonable! He should have refunded my money. I understand we all make mistakes we are human. But fess up to your mistakes and take care of your customers! I am a big believer in customer satisfaction. And have made mistakes myself, but I always take care of the customer. I am completely disappointed Canby family dental refused to refund any money when I almost died. And will never go back again.
