I have called and messaged them at least 10 times over the past three weeks asking whether my trays has arrived yet. They either said would call me back or ignored the voice mails and messages. So far, I have not gotten an answer. Will keep calling them, let's see how long will it take. Don't come here if it is urgent.

They are so understaffed that they can't even book you an appointment even if you're inside the clinic because the reception staff leave early, so they tell you to call the number you can find outside at the door (guess guess what, it's the clinic number). I met Dr. Chiang a couple of times and she is very cold, she didn't even introduce herself to me and she was a bit rude in some occasions. I think she is the only dentist in the clinic. Lastly the thing that I want to highlight is the fact that they didn't send my X-rays to the doctor they referred me. I called several times and they told they would do it, even the dentist I went tried to call them but he never received anything. I had to do the x-rays several times again! I honestly don't know why a university like Duke allows such a thing, I am of the opinion that partnering with a clinic in Durham is best for students. The only positive note are the dental hygienists and assistants who are very kind and friendly to the students.

This place is understaffed and either needs to 1) Hire more staff or 2) Reduce the number of appointments. I arrived at my first appointment and was told there would only be enough time for X-rays. Machine was a bit rough and my gums bled but it happens and I shrugged it off. However, when I scheduled my second appointment for the actual teeth cleaning/cavity checkup, I waited for 20 minutes only to be told the hygienists were swamped and I wouldn't be able to get a teeth cleaning or a filling in time. It was a waste of my time and the dentist's. I scheduled my third appointment, and I confirmed multiple times via text, only to show up and be told my appointment wasn't in the system. I've never had such terrible service where I arrived three times and never got the service I originally requested for. I only give this place two stars because I truly do think they are swamped and are well-intentioned, but they need to reduce the number of appointments so people don't waste their time waiting. Also, it's impossible to get an appointment through calling. I have to walk in to make an appointment because their lines are busy. If it wasn't for being a Duke student and having student dental insurance, I strongly recommend going somewhere else.

This office should be sued for medical malpractice. They attempt to exploit and scam vulnerable (and wealthy) undergraduate students on campus. They told me that they needed to drill into 15 of my healthy teeth for a ~discounted~ price of $5000. I went for a second and even a third opinion and those dentists saw no cavities in my X-rays or physical exam. They are not "proactive" they are just trying to make an easy buck. Avoid this office at all costs.

The new administration staff is too bad: 1) Most of the time phone call would go into the voice mail. 2) Most of the time they would return the call. 3) In one of the case when they were supposed to call when my night guard would be ready, they never called me until I called them back after two months. 4) It takes ton of effort make an appointment right. If you have to book more than one appointment for more than one procedure, then it is very hard to explain that.

I believe there is only one dentist at this time (7/2022): Dr. Chiang. Please make an effort to hire more dentists. Office is incredibly understaffed. Incredibly difficult to schedule an appointment (2-3 month wait) because there are not many people working there. Scheduled an appointment and was sent an email to confirm an alternate time without my knowledge. I rescheduled. Dr. Chiang did not introduce herself or address me (literally say "hi") when she walked in the area. I found her to be highly cold, quiet/hard to hear/understand, inexperienced or poorly educated (specifically on enamel hypoplasia, and periodontal issues/treatment/prognosis, which I guess is expecting way too much...but she is a dentist???), and frankly quite rude overall. She spent barely five minutes looking at my teeth or discussing anything with me, which I did not understand. Missed some cavities that I now have to address. I was decently satisfied with my cleaning, thanks to the hygienist!!! I felt they did not understand my concerns or dental history, although I believe I was clear and thorough, and repeated myself multiple times in multiple ways. I wish they reviewed history or even really asked about it... Appointment was very long for very little done. Felt like it was a waste of my time, honestly, and overall stressful. Still have not received my treatment plan from the office (it has been almost two weeks, and I have contacted the office, but the phone just rings). I have absolutely no desire to and will not return (luckily Duke student dental insurance is accepted at my preferred dentist in the area, sooo many better dentists in Durham and fyi, Duke student dental is no-network, call insurance to check before scheduling anywhere else!). The only people with whom I had a pleasant experience were the receptionist/office manager, hygienists, and dental assistant. They seemed more educated, or at least definitely more communicative and interested in the health of my teeth, than Dr. Chiang. 10/10 highly recommended them, but do not come here if you are expecting quality treatment. Seems like there is high turnover for dentists there anyway, so maybe fingers crossed, there will be another dentist in a few months.

8 out of 10 times I called during normal hours no one picked up the phone. Why is it so difficult to schedule an appointment?

I was treated incredibly well during my visit here. Dentist visits can be really nerve-wracking, but everyone I spoke with here took great care to make sure I was comfortable and at ease. Excellent service!

I went here last year for a routine dental cleaning, however, for some reason they did not actually perform a cleaning at all during my first visit. Instead the hygienist did various other tests including sort of Invisalign simulator, which I did not ask for, and I ended up not seeing the dentist at all. I left extremely confused with a hour wasted and un-cleaned teeth, and was still charged for the visit. Stupidly, I ended up making a follow up appointment to actually get my teeth cleaned, which was just fine/average.

The doctors, dental hygienist and staff were extremely nice and gave clear explanation to me. I was helped by Sharon and Dr. Chiang. I spent most of the time with my teeth cleaning and Sharon was very caring and professional. The first-time X-ray and the dental inspection were also good.

Don't know how to schedule an appointment with you. Here are the ways I've tried: 1. Filled out the google form on your website last week but never got response. 2. Called your office twice during your working hours, both transferred to the voicemail. Left the voicemails but never got response. 3. Visited your office during your working hours twice, but the tag on your door was "closed" for both times. Final question: how can I schedule an appointment with you?

Summary: 3 stars because the person interviewing was a rock star. Minus 1 star for front desk staff. Minus 1 star for pretty much begging for a review but only if it's a good one. I have visited this office one time. The technician who cleaned my teeth was great, however she was "interviewing" and so I cant say for sure if she reflects the office. The office staff were all running behind but only the person "interviewing" said anything to the confused patients in the waiting area while the front desk staff member was missing. All other techs and DMs ignored everyone who walked in. Honestly, the front desk staff member was gone a lot during my visit, and when I was first being checked in she was also having a personal phone call on her cell phone. She did not hang up to check me in, just asked her friend to "wait a second" and then rushed to check me in to get back to her phone call. I understand things happen in life but I do find it rude to be on the phone, it makes me, the paying customer, feel like an inconvenience. But also it's you're job to check me in so I think it is on management to address this. I don't have this issue at any of the other doctor or dental offices that I visit. I've also had issues scheduling an appointment with this office. I called on three different occasions to make my appointment and the phone rang off the hook. Then I filled out the online survey to come in and no one reached back out to me. I had to walk to the office and talk to someone in person to finally schedule my first appointment. I am also removing a star because I have now received three emails with "We really enjoyed seeing you and hope you want to leave us a positive review. However, if you are not completely satisfied, we ask that you will contact us directly to make things right for you." I don't like that you insist that if I have something negative to share that I refrain from sharing with the public. I was never going to write a review but these annoying emails have triggered it. I was excited to use this office out of convenience and being on the graduate student dental plan but if my second visit is also like this I will be changing to another dental office.

I LOVE THIS DENTAL OFFICE! I was born with not perfect teeth and I didn't have good eating habitats when I was a little child, which means I visit dental offices all the time after I became an adult. This is one of the best dental office I have ever been, and the way Dr. Qiang and Naeemhia take care of my teeth makes me feel I am very supported and protected by professional and nice persons.

First, let's start with the good. The staff and doctors are very friendly!! Always so kind and care about you as a person. Now the bad... This office is a rotating house for doctors and receptionists--this means that every time you go, you have to look out for your own health first as the doctors do not review or prepare your file before appointments. Almost every time I've gone (6-8 appointments) I've seen a different dentist who is unfamiliar with my case. At the beginning of my treatment, the Dr. Shah broke travel protocol and got CoVid. This resulted in the practice closing for an entire two weeks and setting many of us behind on our treatment plans. She was replaced by a second doctor (Dr. B.) who was replaced by a third, Dr. Chiang (all in 3 months). Dr. Chiang is nice and gentle, however, she is young and inexperienced. She misled me concerning retainers and guards (I appreciate her trying to save me money, but if I paid $4K for my teeth already, $500 for necessary retainers shouldn't have been a question). Things got worse as the office messed up my order and sent in the wrong scans for retainers. This delayed treatment about 3-4 weeks. Again, office staff is super nice and apologetic but overall inefficient. They do not return phone calls promptly if at all, they can't keep up with existing orders, run late on appointments due to double and over-booking (two hours!!), are entirely understaffed (I've seen the receptionist assist in dental work), and just can't get it right in the long run. One last thing--after finishing a $4,000 treatment plan, I left with a MASSIVE CAVITY that somehow, no one noticed except for me. The tooth is gone to the point where my new dentist visually confirmed the decay within moments. Yet, I saw Dr. Chiang two weeks ago and she said nothing as she removed my Invisalign buttons. It makes me sad to say, but I've transferred practices for any future dental work. Campus Smiles at Duke is unreliable, poor dentistry that overlooks patient needs :(

Overall great experience! The wait was quite long but I got out within an hour. I went in for a cleaning, but they ended up giving me an exam which was $60 I didn't expect to pay. Doctor Chang is very professional and conducted a very thorough cleaning.
