As an orthodontist, I get to work all day with people of all ages who desire to improve their bites, crooked teeth, facial balance, and smiles;and for more than 48 years, I have been excited to go to the office every single day. Every patients needs and goals are different, leading to days filled with the intellectual challenges of problem-solving and time spent working with wonderful, interesting people. I love taking great care of my patients and improving their dentition, their smile, and their facial profile.

The practice of orthodontics is constantly changing. To fulfill my commitment to providing the best care for my patients, I actively continue my education through memberships in numerous professional associations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Michigan Association of Orthodontists, the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists, the West Michigan District Dental Society, and the Holland-Zeeland Dental Society.

I have earned recognition as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. I was also inducted into the American College of Dentists. Only two percent of dentists are invited to jointhis organization.

I have been involved in developing new, cutting-edge technology that has greatly improved the level of successful treatment with more convenience for patients. I have been very fortunate to be able to teach other orthodontists about these new techniques and have lectured throughout the country and internationally on temporary anchorage devices (TADs). In addition, I am involved with the Charles H. Tweed International Foundation for Orthodontic Research.

I feel truly fortunate to work with such an amazing group of people and am privileged to be in practice with my daughter, Dr. Cadie. Our team has worked together for years and shares the same passion for orthodontics that I have. They are motivated individuals who strive to improve the way they deliver care to our patients.

I was born and raised in Chicago, and have lived in Hollandfor almost four decades. My wifeMaryand I have three grown childrenCadie, Chip, and Morganas well as two cats named Lilly and Paris. When Im not in the office, I enjoy many outdoor activities, including skiing, boating, playing golf, biking, and running. I have run innumerous marathons, including the Chicago, New York, and Boston marathons, and participated inseveral triathlons.Watching my grandchildren grow up is one of my favorite hobbies!

Being an active member of my community has always been a priority. I have volunteered with the Luke Society in Honduras to provide much-needed dental services, and Isupport numerous local groups such as the Hope College Summer Repertory Theatre, the Center for Women in Transition, the Boys and Girls Clubs, Special Olympics, and the Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area.

Being an orthodontist allows me to take care of the people in my community, and help them attain beautiful, healthy smiles that last a lifetime. When used properly, orthodontics can improve smiles as well as facial profiles. Every patient is different, and has different clinical needs to accommodate. I enjoy taking the time to figure out exactly which treatment fits a patients needs and lifestyle best.

During my studies at the University of Detroit Mercy, Iwas awarded the Alfred E. Seyler Award for excellence in pediatric dentistry as well as the AADS/Warner-Lambert Preventive Dentistry Scholarship by the American Association of Dental Schools. Iwas also nominated for the Golden Apple Teaching Award in each of the three years Itaught at UIC Dental School.

I consider my profession a lifelong learning experience, and am always finding better ways to treat our patients. I strive to be the best in our field because that is exactly what our patients deserve. As part of my continuing education, I am actively involved with the American Association of Orthodontists, Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists, and Michigan Association of Orthodontists. I also served as the vice president of the Holland-Zeeland Dental Society, in whichIremain an active member, and I am currently serving on the Michigan Board of Orthodontics.

Every day at work, I get to watch peoples self-confidence build as their smiles get more beautiful. I love what I do, and enjoyusing my skills to improve the lives of families in my hometown. I treat each child as if he or shewere my own, and giveonly treatments I would give my own children.

Before I was an orthodontist, I practiced general dentistry for five years. This experience gave me a great appreciation for the dental health of patients and how orthodontics can benefit many facets of oral and overall health. I have been practicing orthodontics since 2003, and love using my unique knowledge and experience to provide only the highest quality of treatmentfor each patient.

I grew up here in Holland, and am lucky to serve the wonderful families of our community. My husbandBoband I have three children. Our oldest is Gavin and our twins are Anika and Keaton. We also havetwo dogs, Emmie and Maggie, and two cats named Commander Cody (we are Star Wars fans) and Mr. Fluffypants.

Outside the office, I love swimming, playing sports with my kids, and can often be found chauffering the kids from one sporting event to thee next. I am also active in our community as a volunteer for Miles of Smiles. I volunteer to help at my childrens school and classrooms.

Joannebrings a wide array of talents to our team in her role as office manager. She manages the schedule, patient relationsand contracts. She is the go-to personat Dr. George Orthodontics if thereis ever a problem.Joanne loves working with the patients and getting to know their families. She enjoys workingwith the team as they always put a smile on her face.Joanneloves seeing the end of treatment when the patient walks out smiling!

Chris is a born problem solver, and wherever she is, she is on a mission! In addition to taking diagnostic records, Chris is highly competent in taking 3D images with our CBCT scan. You might see Chris at the front reception center, greeting patients, or coming up with solutions to problems that may arise. Chris is grateful to work with such a friendly, dedicated team that helps each other out whenever needed.

Chris is married with three children, two of whom are married and onein college. She's also a grandmother and just loves it! Chris and her family enjoy going to their cabin and garage sales, and spending time together.

As new patient coordinator, Patti is the team member you will interact with before visiting us for the first time. Competent and caring, Patti will ensure that your experience with us is a positive one. Patti especially enjoys interacting with the doctors as she manages their personnel schedules, and she is ready to support the staff in every way possible. She also loves getting to know and interacting with all the families who are part of our office.

Angie radiates warmth while she assists our doctors in the treatment area. She works with a gentle touch and her patients are reassured by her sensitive nature. Angie is bilingual, so she ensures that our Spanish-speaking patients are comfortable. She loves meeting new people, being a vital part of the orthodontic process, and seeing the amazing results at the end of treatment.

As treatment coordinator, Marywill greet you on your first visit to our office. She assists the doctors byproviding information to patients and explaining our proposed treatment plan. She has a passion for developing relationships with new patientsand will make sure you feel comfortable when choosing to begin your care at our office. Like all members of our team, Maryloves what she does and strivesto create the best possible patientexperiebce.

Mary enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. Her favorite activites include hiking in the dunes, playing cards or badminton, working on home projects, and visiting with family and friends.

Gisellejoined our team and is thrilled to be working at the same office as her mom Angie.The highlight of her day is the variety of tasks her job entails, from working directly with patients to helping out with theother needs of our clinic. Gisellecan assist wherever we need her! She loves one-on-one patient interaction, as well as the mechanics of orthodontics.

Jen has been an orthodontic assistant for nearly 20 years!She is excited to be a part of the Dr. George Orthodontics team. She enjoys working directly with patients and being a part of their journey to a perfect smile. Jenappreciates the opportunity to learn from our doctors every day and meet such interesting new people. Along with our team, Jenworks to ensure were giving our patients the best treatment possible.

Katelyn works alongside Drs. Danand Cadie with patient care, including applying braces, adjusting them, and seeing the beautiful smiles when theyre removed. Working with kids is Katelyns favorite part of her job. She loves getting to know them and seeing their personalities grow and shine.

Mekaley helps with placing wires and brackets, and assisting the doctors with patient care as needed. Mekaleys joy is in making people smile and love their smiles. She enjoys the variety and excitement that each patient brings to her day. A true team player, Mekaleyappreciates our teams passion for patient care.
