How Will We Carry Out Root Canal Therapy?Root canal therapy procedures are nothing but slightly more complex tooth fillings. What we essentially do is that we make a small hole in the infected tooth. We will remove the pulp and the roots to leave behind empty root and pulp chambers. These chambers are then cleaned and disinfected to eliminate any infected remnants and reshaped into their original form. After this, the empty chambers are filled and sealed. ProcedureA diagnosis is necessary before the dentist can decide upon the correct endodontic treatment. When a patient complains of a toothache and swelling, our dentist will be able to look for indications of tooth decay that may need root canal treatment. Physical discoloration and pus buildups are the most obvious, physical symptoms of needing root canal treatment. The dentist will use an x-ray and the pressing of a cold stimulus onto the tooth, to see if it causes sensitivity, to detect the need for root canal treatment
A small incision will be made into the top of the tooth, to allow our dentist to access the pulp. The infected pump will be removed, to prevent the further spreading of the infection. Once this is removed, our dentist will flush the inside of the tooth with an antibacterial solution, to ensure no bacteria remain inside. To fill in the inside of the tooth, a rubbery material, gutta percha, will be used for structural reasons.
Once the dentist has finished the root canal treatment, we will place a temporary crown on top. This is to be used until a dental lab has made a custom fit crown for your tooth, designed from a mold of your mouth.

Cameo dental specialists are the very best of the Periodontists, especially Dr.Taylor Newman. She removed an upper tooth from my wife and two lower teeth from me. Her and her team did everything right to make this as painless as possible and as comfortable as possible. When Doctor Newman had to use the water drill, her assistant was using the vacuum device to suck up the water right away so I was not choking on the water debris. Dr. Newman explained before our treatment and again after our treatment what was needed to be done afterwards.Then gave us both copies of what needed so we could go over them with her then and again at home and gave us starter pain pills until we could get our prescriptions filled at our local pharmacy. She also gave us her personal cell phone number incase we needed to call her. Later that day she also called us up to make sure we we okay. She is the very best!! PS: Do not let her beauty and petite size fool you. She maybe young looking but she knows her dental trade and is well qualified to take good care of you.

Wasn't expecting a good time. My problem is mainly that the billing process wasn't transparent and I received an additional bill in the mail which was a nice little cherry on top of the experience. But there's now a note on my file that someone didn't do their job right. Which definitely took care of the issue.

I was referred to Cameo by my dentist. I ended up having it be an urgent situation and was in excruciating pain. Cameo got me in within and few hours and Dr. Mina did a root canal. She was incredible. She was so kind and gentle. It was a breeze with very little recovery afterwards. Most importantly, I was pain free. The office staff and assistants were also great. I would recommend Dr. Mina and Cameo to anyone.

I had a root canal with Dr. Mina - she is the sweetest, kindest, caring person. I have always been afraid of going to the dentist and she totally put me at ease- she gave me shots of novacaine which I hardly felt at all - in the past I have been given shots where I felt like I was going to go through the roof- she explained everything to me before she did anything. During the procedure she wanted to know that I was doing OK and comfortable. The staff at Cameo were very nice, helpful and professional. Because of my wonderful experience with Dr. Mina I am not afraid of going to the dentist anymore. If I ever need another root canal I would definitely go back to Dr. Mina. Just the best!

I have no insurance. Asked them how much cost wisdom tooth extraction that is not impacted. I've been told 3500-4000. Okkk, that's INSANE !

Went in for consultation for possible root canal. They knew how anxious I was and were extremely patient and really nice. I did not have anything done by them but I would highly recommend to anyone afraid like I am with anything teeth related. Front desk staff were also extremely nice.

I went to Cameo Dental Specialists after a complicated and painful attempt by my dentist who was unable to complete my root canal. Cameo Dental Specialists are pros through and through. From the reception, to imaging and procedure prep with Destiny the dental assistant, I was put at ease and the team was quick through each step of the process. Dr. Mike is amazing and it is fascinating to watch him work through the surgery. Contrary to my experience at the dentist, my procedure was painless and simple. If only all dental procedures could be this pleasant. I would recommend Dr. Mike Munaretto and his team to anyone in need of endodontic care.

Cameo took me in on an emergency basis on Saturday and was relieved I was being taken care of so promptly. The girl at the desk was very sweet, the assistant, Bryan was knowledgeable and kind and Dr Mina was top notch. She put me at ease and was on top of new and current treatment not to mention her kindness and excellent way with patients. Your comfort is their top priority here...they even give you a pair of sunglasses to wear during the procedure so the light doesn't bother your eyes. Bryan, the assistant, is in his last year of dental school and will make a great dentist. Thank you all for your kindness, professionalism and top notch work!

Dr. Mina brilliantly retreated my two root canals without even removing the existing crown! Absolutely no pain felt during and after the procedure. Extraordinary professional skills, compassion, and a quite unique charm personify this young endodontist. Each and every staff member was highly friendly and attentive, and the interior of their La Grange office is clean and cozy. My overall experience at Cameo's clinic could not have been more positive and appreciative. I would give them 10 stars!

When my regular dentist could not see me for several weeks my husband called Cameo (Dr. John and Jessica) and they squeezed me in and serviced me in under an hour the next day. I had a bad experience with my previous dentist where I ended up having issues with a tooth that was filled. The filling was deep and sitting on my nerve. I ended up with excruciating headaches for weeks and after an evaluation from my previous dentist, I found out I needed to have a root canal. I was referred to Cameo Dental Specialists. I set my appointment with Cameo and they asked many questions at that time. My appointment was scheduled for a later time, but because I was having pain, they got me in the office right away for an emergency root canal. Dr. Mike was so nice, informative, and made sure I was comfortable during the entire procedure. He made sure I received pain medication before the procedure and after because I was in so much pain. The procedure was quick and someone from the office called and checked on me later that evening to see how I was feeling. All of the staff in the office were extremely nice and helpful as well. Thank you, Dr. Mike, for rectifying a bad situation and helping me feel better. I would recommend Cameo Dental Specialist to anyone in need of a endodontist.
