Cameo Dental is committed to its community, and that goes back to the start. The practice was founded in 1946 when Dr. Raymond Mardell opened up shop in Rosemounts historic Geraghty Building on Highway 3. As Rosemount grew, so did the number of patients in need of dental care. In order to meet this growing need, Dr. Mardell built a new facility on Cameo Avenue in 1960, where the practice stands today. The practice expanded from there to meet the needs of the community, adding both square footage and dedicated dental professionals.
Dr. Fred Groth joined the practice shortly after, and Dr. Ray Mardells son Dr. Michael Mardell (known by his patients as Dr. Mike) joined in 1972. The practice quickly gained a reputation for kind, compassionate dentistry and patient centered care. Over the years, these founding dentists have enjoyed their retirements. Others have also come and gone, notably Dr. Kurt Carlson who served patients at Cameo Dental for over 30 years, Mary Swedin who managed the practice for 47 years, Dr. David Wold and Dr. Erin Allen. These professionals established a foundation of strong core values including honesty, integrity, respect, comfort, and satisfaction. These values have lived on in the Cameo Dental team.
I have used this dental service since the seventies. Always excellent. I would never consider another office. The visit today was no exception. The hygienist and doctor were thorough and professional. The best.

I am continually amazed at how my dental cleanings are almost a non-issue. My hygienist has a very unusual ability and somehow cleans my teeth without leaving me in pain. While no one ever likes going to the dentist, I can honestly say that, for me, its about as pleasant as a dental visit can be.
I switched to Cameo Dental a few years back after obtaining a recommendation from a fellow bus buddy and havent looked backhats off to the Doctor, along with the entire staff! The professional and timely service and willingness to answer questions are always appreciated.
My son broke a large part of his front tooth off, and Cameo was able to see him within hours. My son had never had major dental work done and typically goes to a pediatric dentist, so I was worried about how he would react. The staff members at Cameo were patient, kind, and competent. The visit went better than expected for my son and his tooth looks good as new. I would recommend this office to parents for their children based on the treatment my son received.
