Cameo Dental is committed to its community, and that goes back to the start. The practice was founded in 1946 when Dr. Raymond Mardell opened up shop in Rosemounts historic Geraghty Building on Highway 3. As Rosemount grew, so did the number of patients in need of dental care. In order to meet this growing need, Dr. Mardell built a new facility on Cameo Avenue in 1960, where the practice stands today. The practice expanded from there to meet the needs of the community, adding both square footage and dedicated dental professionals.
Dr. Fred Groth joined the practice shortly after, and Dr. Ray Mardells son Dr. Michael Mardell (known by his patients as Dr. Mike) joined in 1972. The practice quickly gained a reputation for kind, compassionate dentistry and patient centered care. Over the years, these founding dentists have enjoyed their retirements. Others have also come and gone, notably Dr. Kurt Carlson who served patients at Cameo Dental for over 30 years, Mary Swedin who managed the practice for 47 years, Dr. David Wold and Dr. Erin Allen. These professionals established a foundation of strong core values including honesty, integrity, respect, comfort, and satisfaction. These values have lived on in the Cameo Dental team.
I have used this dental service since the seventies. Always excellent. I would never consider another office. The visit today was no exception. The hygienist and doctor were thorough and professional. The best.

I am continually amazed at how my dental cleanings are almost a non-issue. My hygienist has a very unusual ability and somehow cleans my teeth without leaving me in pain. While no one ever likes going to the dentist, I can honestly say that, for me, its about as pleasant as a dental visit can be.
I switched to Cameo Dental a few years back after obtaining a recommendation from a fellow bus buddy and havent looked backhats off to the Doctor, along with the entire staff! The professional and timely service and willingness to answer questions are always appreciated.
My son broke a large part of his front tooth off, and Cameo was able to see him within hours. My son had never had major dental work done and typically goes to a pediatric dentist, so I was worried about how he would react. The staff members at Cameo were patient, kind, and competent. The visit went better than expected for my son and his tooth looks good as new. I would recommend this office to parents for their children based on the treatment my son received.
All of the people at Cameo Dental go above and beyond with the service. As you probably all know I have and my family have come to Cameo since it was Mardell Dental. I enjoy my visits because I feel like I am among family. My dental care is 100%, and I certainly will see you in 6 months.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this clinic! I've been working in the dental field for close to 30 years & have been working at Cameo for almost one year. I can honestly say, both dentists, the manager, assistants, hygienists & front desk are all top notch & they truly care about their patients, as if they're family. If you want an honest, caring, no pressure dental team, Cameo is the place for you!

Dr. Barbra Lee has been my dentist for over 14 years. Our whole family sees her and she is great with my little ones all under 10. They love going to the dentist to show her their teeth. She is compassionate, has passion, and is a perfectionist. Very gentle dentist. She is the only dentist we trust. The team at Cameo Dental is also very kind and professional. The clinic is warm and inviting. We would definitely recommend anyone we know. Thank you for taking care of our teeth.

My family has been going to Cameo Dental since we moved to Rosemount several years ago. We've always had a great experience. Everyone from the front desk to the hygienists to the dentists work as a total team. I've never witnessed such a collegial environment in a dentist office before! I am doubly impressed at how they've handled their operation during the pandemic. They are working so hard to keep patients and staff safe. Thank you!

This is a wonderful Dental practice in Rosemount, MN. We began there in 1983. The Dentists we saw then have retired but the "new guard" are exceptional Dentists! I was even seen after hours on a holiday weekend and was not gouged for the visit. Love the staff one and all!!

Love! Love! Love! Cameo Dental! Can't say enough great words about this place, from the wonderful ladies up front to Dr. Rob and everyone in between. They are so good about explaining every detail of your visit and what will or won't be covered by insurance which is always a struggle to understand what is covered. I have NEVER left that office not knowing what was going on or what it was going to cost, and I have never received a surprise bill either, and I can honestly say that has never happened with any other DDS or Doctors office before. They have kept that great small town feel that I love which just lends to their personal touch, again you can't get that from the manufactured DDS offices that look and feel like all the rest.
