Caloosa Dental has been proudly serving our local communities for over 50 years as both Caloosa Dental and Lehigh Dentistry. Both practices have the same high-quality treatment, and now they share the Caloosa Dental name.

Our use of digital X-ray technology and 3D imaging technologies reduces your radiation exposure and eliminates the use of chemicals. We can see and treat problems long before they become visible on traditional X-rays. The increased precision means saving you time and money and avoiding complications with your treatments.

So, whether you're looking for the latest in dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, advanced treatments with prosthodontics, or simply a dentist who can help maintain your family's smiles, please join us. It's the best of both worlds - old-fashioned relationships and today's advanced dentistry. It really is something to smile about.

Dr. Brian Gear grew up in Southwest Florida and graduated from Fort Myers High School in 1987. He then went and wrestled for the Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, where he was captain of the team for two years.

Dr. Gear was accepted to the University of Florida for dental school and graduated in 1998. Before he graduated from dental school, Dr. Gear realized that he wanted a stronger implant, denture, and restorative background and accepted a position in the Graduate Prosthodontic Residency to specialize in prosthodontics.

He graduated from the graduate prosthodontic program in 2001. Upon graduating, Dr. Gear moved back to southwest Florida to practice dentistry and raise his family. He was excited to work in a dental practice in Lehigh Acres.

Since 2001, he has proudly served the dental needs of patients from our southwest Florida community, as well as patients from Key West to Ocala. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, West Coast Dental Association, Lee County Dental Association, American Prosthodontic Society, American College of Prosthodontists, Florida Prosthodontic Society, and the Academy of Osseointegration.

Dr. Denise Oakes-Lottridge graduated cum laude from Florida State University in 1993 with a BS degree in biology and received her DMD degree from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 1997.

Dr. Oakes-Lottridge and her family have been an active part of the southwest Florida community since 2004. She prides herself on taking many continuing education classes to provide her patients with the best possible care. Along with her team, she offers quality dental care in a sincere and personal environment.

Outside of the office, Dr. Oakes-Lottridge is actively involved in the Lee County Dental Society and served as president in 2012-2013, as well as being a delegate to the Florida Dental Association. Her involvement has allowed her to provide dental services through the Mission of Mercy, as well as Project Dental Care, helping those in need.

Dr. Oakes-Lottridge looks forward to meeting and getting to know you. She hopes to help you with your personal dental goals, whether it's straightening, whitening, restoring, or maintaining your healthy, beautiful smile.

Dr. Miguel Scheel received his doctorate at the University of Guayaquil in Ecuador. He then attended the Internationally-Educated Program at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, earning his U.S. dental degree.

His graduation was followed by a residency and specialty program at the same institution where he received a Certificate in Prosthodontics and Master of Science degree, giving him the opportunity to diagnose and treat advanced restorative cases.

Dr. Scheel is a fellow of the International Colleague of Oral Implantologists and a master of the Implant Prosthetic Section of the ICOI. He also is a member of the American College of Prosthodontics, Academy of Osseointegration, South East Prosthodontic Society, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, West Coast District Dental Society, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and Lee County Dental Association.

Dr. Trevor Hamm, DMD, was raised in northern Illinois. He received an Associate of Science degree from Kankakee Community College and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Olivet Nazarene University. Dr. Hamm played tennis while attending ONU.

After college, he attended and graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with high honors. He then moved to southwestern Florida with his wife to escape the Midwest winters.

Sherry has been in the dental field for more than 20 years. She graduated from Riverdale High School and attended Charlotte Vocational Technical School, where she earned her Certification in Dental Assisting and Radiology.

I am or I was one of their VA clients and they made weird comments to me about working and being a veteran. I'm not sure if y'all know that veterans can work and be disabled when They are not considered IU. This dental clinic apparently doesn't believe that. I put in a dental referral after work was left undone and needing periodontal scaling as I am pregnant again and they refused to take me back telling the VA they dismissed me for "attendance". Bs! They are super weird and I wouldn't want them doing work in my mouth again being that they didn't address major cavities the last time. So as a 2nd trimester pregnant person and a veteran, thank you for not helping me. Good thing the doctor at the VA had a backup community care facility.

Dr Scheel just did an amazing filling on my front bottom tooth that peeled in half as the back side fell off! He implanted a post and added a filling to restore the back side of the teeth! He managed all of this in a crowed area!! KUDOS TO DR. SCHEEL!!

Terrible 6 month long ordeal for a pair of dentures that still don't fit correctly, Dr. Gear and his nurses were awful to deal with, condescending and rude.

At 78 my teeth are not perfect..I go to Caloosa every three months for cleaning and check up. This is a top notch practice, very professional --also very careful about Covid screening. I highly recommend Dr Gear.

The staff are amazing! They just moved to new bigger location which i find very convenient. I like the fact you can have various ways to confirm appointments...phone, text or email. Michelle, the hygienist, has a gentle touch and i always feel like my teeth got extra care when i see her.

I am a veteran and Caloosa dental participates in the "Veterans Choice Program". They elected to do so knowing there would be mounds of extra paperwork, discounted price for work completed, and that it could take many months to receive the payment. I couldn't be any more pleased with the way I was treated, and the finished product. Dr. Schell was considerate, informative, and the picture of professionalism and the dental hygienist was the best ever. I would highly recommend Caloosa Dental to a family member. Great people!
