Dr. Callan grew up in Ocean City, New Jersey. He completed his undergraduate education at Villanova University, where he earned his bachelors degree in Biology. Dr. Callan continued his studies and received his Masters Degree in Biomedicine from The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then spent several years working for the American Red Cross.
Dr. Callan later left the Red Cross to pursue his dream of becoming an orthodontist. He received his DMD degree from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated with the highest honors. Dr. Callan then completed his orthodontic residency at Montefiore Medical Center, in New York. During his second year of residency, he received the American Academy of Orthodontics Award for outstanding achievement in Orthodontics.
Dr. Callan is a member of the American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, and the American Academy of Orthodontics. He strives to always continue his orthodontic education so he may stay up to date on the most current and efficient treatment options for his patients.
When he is not in the office, Dr. Callan enjoys traveling, cheering on the Villanova Wildcats basketball team, and spending time with his wife (some of you may know her as Dr. Kristy of Mercer Childrens Dentistry), and their three children.
Monica brings more than just her bright smile and friendly nature to Callan Orthodontics. Prior to her career in the dental field, she worked for 15 years not only all over the country, but the world, with the leading companies in the hospitality industry. She strives to make each patients experience at Callan Orthodontics different from that at any other medical office. Compassionate care and concierge service, where you, the patient, truly matter.
Dr Callan takes care of my twins, one with regular braces and one with invisaline. Hes calm, talks directly to the kids to make sure they are comfortable and understand everything. Hes available for emergencies, luckily we only needed to call after hours once! Really so happy with the job hes done with my kids.
Dr. Callan was extremely kind and thorough with his initial exam and recommendations. He explained everything to my daughter (who is 9) in words she could understand.His office manager is also very friendly, helpful, and went over the dental benefits carefully.Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful experience with Dr.Callan. He explained everything he was looking at and thinking very clearly. I also appreciated how he spoke the both my children (6/8). Asking how they were and what they thought about what he was explaining. We left and my children commented right away what a great experience it was!

Dr. Callan and Monica are awesome. After getting consults from several offices in the area, we decided to go with Dr. Callan for my daughters treatment. He was thorough with his explanation, made my daughter feel at ease (even excited to get started), and was available for follow-up questions. While the other offices may have had the bells and whistles to lure you in (i.e. free trinkets and such), we dont feel like we are a part of the orthodontic factory with Dr. Callan. Instead, we feel that he cares and he knows his patient, whether its during the office visit or when he calls after a big visit to check up on my daughter. We are confident that we made the best choice!

Dr. Callan has been great! He made both my children feel comfortable and at ease, which is not easy to do while in a dentist chair. He level sets your expectations and ensures you are always informed. My guys finally like going to the dentist and with another fews years a braces, my wife and I are grateful it's not a battle getting them to go.
