Dr. Cynthia Leung, a New York City resident for several decades, has committed her career as an orthodontist to giving patients of all ages the care and attention they need to attain their ideal smile. Her office is one of the few in the area to use a low-dose, scanning digital x-ray to take accurate measurements before, during and after treatment. Dr. Leung has published work in the field of digital orthodontic measurements and believes that a successful smile starts with proper measurement and planning.
Dr. Leung received her undergraduate degree from Barnard College at Columbia University. She spent several years performing research in microbiology at Columbia before leaving to study dentistry at Stony Brook University, where she earned her DDS and scored at the top of her class in Part I of the National Dental Board exam.
Dr. Leung then went on to Case Western Reserve University for her MSD degree in orthodontics, writing her thesis on the accuracy of a 3D digital measurement system in orthodontics. She is licensed by the State of New York to practice dentistry; she is a member of the American Dental Association; and she is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists.
Caliper Orthodontics was founded on Dr. Leung's belief that proper measurement and planning are vital to attaining your ideal smile.Prior to starting Caliper Orthodontics, Dr. Leung was an associate at several prestigious practices in the region, including Capogna Orthodontics in North Massapequa, NY.Dr. Leung regularly participates in continuing education programs and workshops to stay on the forefront of new techniques and methods. As a result,Caliper Orthodontics offers both Invisalign and Damon bracket systems: two of the most technologically advanced methods in orthodontics today. Invisalign can give some patients the option to attain their ideal smiles with invisible aligners; Damon brackets use a unique system to hold the arch wire without elastics, speeding up treatment time significantly while getting superior results.

My time at caliper has been wonderful. Dr. Leung and the staff has been so welcoming, patient and attentive. They always made sure the process and every visit went smoothly. I'm very satisfied with my teeth and smile now. Would highly recommend checking them out if you're in the market for braces.

I've been a patient at Caliper for nearly 6 years now, so I think my words carry more weight than some others' might. There are a couple things I'd like to say. Firstly, Dr. Leung is extremely knowledgeable & kind. Secondly, the staff is trained very well. Of course, having Dr. Leung herself operate on you is the best, but the assisting staff are always very capable. They are also respectful people. Thirdly, the Caliper environment itself is one that is very welcoming. Both tangibly, in that sanitation and cleanliness of Caliper is exceptional, and intangibly, in the kind nature of Dr. Leung and her staff. Lastly, they are very patient people. When I first got my braces I was just a young boy. I didn't understand the importance of my hygiene until very late. I had braces on for over 5 years, which is abnormal, and I ultimately blame myself for that. However, Dr. Leung and her staff has always been patient with me, and stressed the importance of my hygiene every time I visit. I'm much older now, so this time around I'm actually following the rules and results have been great. Overall, Caliper is a worthy investment for creating a better smile, for yourself or your child. Waiting times before being operated on can at times be long, but just as they were patient with me, please be patient with them. It's worth it

Dr Leung train assistants with any knowledge to work in the patients and the assistants told me she put used appliances (brackets, wires, coils) patient after patient for years despite charging thousands of dollars.

I waited 2 hours for them and they didn't even check me. Me and my parents had another appointment and they didn't even seem to care. I swear they said we don't have time for you today I am sorry but you will have to reschedule your appointment.

No appointment necessary, just walk in cuz it does not matter whether u scheduled with them or not, you still have to wait 1 or even 2 hours. Some people may enjoy it, but not me

1/28/2020- first time coming here for my daughter and I love the customer service! Dr. Leung was EXTREMELY SWEET & patient. She answers all your questions and she wants to make sure she can help accommodate you. I highly recommend! The wait time is horrible. Hate that!

A wonderful, clean, safe, and comfortable experience through and through. The office itself is very clean and professional, and the staff are all very kind and understanding. I mainly went to have braces put on, and went monthly to bimonthly for about 5 years; Dr. Leung and her staff were always very kind, patient, and attentive. They explained any questions and took great care to make sure the process was going smoothly, (checking very closely and very accurately making adjustments as needed), and instructing me on the proper care at home. I was also never short on materials I needed (such as rubber bands). Overall I am very happy with my teeth now, and the time and money spent was quite worth it.

Update: Just picked up my retainers and completed Invisalign. I delayed orthodontics for many years because I thought the treatment would be too inconvenient for my very crowded teeth. Dr Leung and her staff were able to give me a perfect smile after 18 months of treatment! My only regret was not starting earlier. Thank you Caliper for my great smile. I have been undergoing Invisalign treatment for the past year at Caliper. Dr Leung and her staff are the best! They really try to understand patient concerns and recommend the best treatment plan with the latest technology in orthodontics. I have only great things to say about my experience at Caliper. The staff are lovely and the office follows strict covid protocol so although I started my orthodontics during covid I never felt any concerns. Five stars for Dr Leung and her staff!
