Dr. Jay earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors in esthetic dentistry from NYU College of Dentistry. He is a seasoned dentist, who has practiced in New York, Florida, Connecticut, and Nevada before settling here in Cypress.
Dr. Jays goal is to provide his patients with the latest, innovative technologies and progressive treatments, which is why you can often find him attending dental conferences around the world and learning from leading dental experts and innovators. He is a member of The American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
In addition to practicing general dentistry, Dr. Jay is an implant diplomate certified by the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), offers wisdom teeth removal, IV sedation, platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) stem cell therapy for surgical procedures, and pinhole periodontal surgery.
Prior to dentistry, Dr. Jay majored in Biology and Music at Vassar College, where he was an All-American swimmer, water polo athlete, and class treasurer. He lives in Irvine, CA with his two dogs. In his free time, he still enjoys swimming, discovering interesting places to eat, and traveling.
Dr. Mina graduated at the top of her class from NYU College of Dentistry where in addition to treating her patients at the regular dental clinic, she worked at the highly selective Faculty Practice in Manhattan. As an avid outreach advocate, she has donated her time to the Henry Schein Global Outreach Program to provide emergency and restorative dental care to Tibetan residents in Pokhara, Nepal.
Dr. Mina is certified in Invisalign and specializes in cosmetic dentistry and full mouth reconstruction. Following her advanced training in veneer and crown integration, she has practiced at the prestigious Rosenthal Institute for Aesthetic Dentistry in New York. She is a member of The American Dental Association and California Dental Association. Dr. Mina is also certified in Botox by the American Academy of Facial Esthetics.
Dr. Mina was formerly a professional violinist who graduated from The Juilliard School. Her performances around the world and at venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center have been critically acclaimed by multiple news outlets including The New York Times. She has also collaborated with pop artists such as Nicki Minaj and appeared on Good Morning America and Victorias Secret Fashion Show. When not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, hiking around LA, and slowly fulfilling her dream of visiting every national park in the US.
Dr. Ty Caldwell earned both his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in physiology and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco. He also graduated from the Southern California Implant Residency Program and successfully completed the Nobel Biocare Implant Continuum. What a team. I normally dread dental work but I can honestly say that Dr. Um and his assistant Paris worked their magic. They skillfully and methodically did a root canal (my first one) and crown in record time. The best part of my experience was not just the cleanliness, state of the art technology, care and concern shown for my comfort and well being. It was pain free! Many thanks to Robin and Jackie for ease of appointment scheduling. A group of knowledgeable professionals made this a positive experience.

This was my 1st visit to Caldwell Dental. The lobby area was nicely decorated. Their front office staff was welcoming and quickly helped me check in. Kara, my dental hygienist, called me back right on time. Her exam room was professional & clean. Kara was awesome ! She explained what she was doing or what she was going to do to help with my anxiety. Her gentle hands made me feel at ease too. I've already pre-booked my next appointment with her. Dr. Mina was also very helpful with explaining the additional suggested procedures needed. Thank you Kara and Caldwell Dental.

A colleague recommended Caldwell Dental & I'm so glad she did. I've gone in for several visits from deep cleanings, to filling replacements, & even a root canal. Dr. Mina & the rest of the staff are really great. I had one experience that was ruined by an unprofessional conversation that took place in the office. I reported it & the doctors quickly addressed the matter. It was clear that they truly care about their patients and they make sure their workplace is positive and welcoming. I was referred here by a colleague and she was absolutely right. Everyone here is amazing. My dentist retired, so I needed to find a new dentist office that has flexible hours and Dr. Mina couldn't be nicer. She and her team really work with patients to make sure they are informed every step of the way of the treatment plan and doesnt upsell products and services.
