Dr. Cabell graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1980 and has practiced in Hartland for 35 years since. He established Cabell Family Dental Care in 1992 and has pursued a variety of interests in dentistry, taking postgraduate courses in cosmetic dentistry, endodontics (root canals), oral surgery, implants and pediatric dentistry. John is active in his local dental society and has been a long time participant with the State of Michigan Donated Dental Services program. He and his wife Debbie have two sons, Doug who works here now and Brian who is getting his MBA from University of Illinois in April 2015 and will start soon thereafter with Fiat Chrysler Automotive Group . John and Debbie live on the outskirts of Hartland with their two Cairn Terriers, Gracie and Chloe, a cat named Syd and several fish that have not been named. Dr. Cabells other interests include fish keeping, cycling, golf and paddleboarding.
A 2003 graduate of Hartland High School, Dr. Doug Cabell obtained his bachelors degree in biology from the University of Michigan. He then returned to Ann Arbor, graduating in 2011 from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. After spending a year running a clinic for an underserved population in the Bay City / Saginaw area and two additional years of private practice in Chicago, he was able to move back home and join his dad at Cabell Family Dental Care in 2014.
Dr. Doug Cabell interests within the scope of dentistry and has taken extensive continuing education on dental implants, Invisalign, root canals, cosmetic dentistry, pediatrics, among others. He enjoys trying to make dental visits as comfortable and low-stress as possible.
When not at the office, you can find Dr. Cabell and his wife, Danielle, chasing around their two small children, Lucy and Mason, and their mini-goldendoodle, Charlie. If time allows, he much enjoys cycling, golf, and working on his 1940s converted farmhouse. He leaves the fish-keeping to his father.

Outstanding Dental Practice! Been going there for a few years now and can't say enough good things. Dr Doug Cabell made my visit virtually pain free. Staff is great, as is the kindness and care they treat their patients with.

When I moved here in 2018 I asked my son's orthodontist who to see for dental and they recommended Dr. Cabell's office. I've been seeing them ever since and I love the practice. The hygienists are wonderful - every single one I've had. Both Dr. Cabells have been awesome (father and son). I have never been told I need dental work that is not needed. They are honest and I know when I go in for a dental cleaning I can feel assured they will not tell me I need crowns or fillings that I really don't need and that is super important to me. I'm able to get into the office quickly if I have an emergency which I've needed to do for a root canal issue. They take my Dental insurance. I highly highly recommend this dental practice. Our entire family goes here and also likes this dental practice (husband and two teenage sons). I highly recommend them if you are looking for a new dentist!!

This placed charged me $550 for 2 children's cleanings. In my opinion this is highway robbery. Our previous dentist charged $125 with Floride and x-rays per child. The lady at the front desk calling to collect payment was condescending. She then called me again after I posted a review. Again, condescending and offering no solution, just wanted to argue and lie about how they have the best prices in town and are the greatest dentist office ever bla bla bla. I'll drive 50 minutes to my old dentist office before I pay this Dr's corvette payment again. On the plus side, the hygienist was always super nice and pleasant with my kids.

Dr. John Cabell did a great job of removing a tooth for me. There was minimal discomfort with the injections and tooth removal. It took two tylenol to take care of the discomfort after removal. I have had specialist that haven't done as well. If I have any more dental work like this I will return to Dr. Cabell's office. The procedure was very reasonably priced. Thank you for your caring and great staff.

Very nice people. All very good at what they do. I have never had an unpleasant experience with the Cabell's and their staff. Just had my first wisdom tooth taken out. It was easier and less painful than getting my hair cut!

I had my first appointment today and had a great first experience very professional and polite. They explained every thing they where doing and had to do very well. Overall very good first impression, I believe I have finally found my family dentist!!!

Best Dentist I've been to based off experience. Went in for a chipped tooth and they were able to see me right away and fixed it same day. Staff was friendly and the Dentist was very professional. Mr. Cabell took his time and you can't even tell there was a filling put in. Glad I finally found a dentist I can trust. Highly recommend this place!

Both Dr. Cabells are amazing. We have been patients of John Cabell since the 1990s, and currently we are equally happy to meet with either Dr. John Cabell or Dr. Doug Cabell. The thing that I love the most is the time, the care, and the attention to the patient's needs and concerns. Everything is very clearly explained, and all dental work has been absolutely pain free! We feel like members of the Cabell family when we are in the office -treated with care, concern and kindness by every one of the employees. They genuinely care about your experience in their office, and always give service with a smile. We just love them! Highly, highly recommend them to one and all!

Best dentist I have ever had. Very pleasant group. Always makes sure you are comfortable. Explains everything before proceeding. Knowledgeable of all the newest technologies and procedures. Drs, hygienists, assistants and even the desk staff are fantastic!!
