The Kitsap area holds a special place in my heart. I grew up mainly in Poulsbo, and graduated from North Kitsap High school. Then, I went to BYU in Provo, Utah, and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Northern England. I graduduated with a degree in Behavioral science and health from the University of Utah in 1994, and in 1999 I graduated with my DDS degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I have passed both the WREB board and the ADEX board in proving my dental knowledge and skills. After dental school, I came home with my young family to the pacific northwest and began private practice in Port Orchard. I also opened a practice in Gig Harbor, and now have sold both of those practices and practice only in Silverdale. After starting into practice, I completed the Orthodontic success program under John Witzig DDS. I really enjoyed learning about teeth movement, jaw development, and TMJ. For a period of time, I focused my practice on the treatment of TMD. I find it very rewarding to help people who have a chronic jaw problem and can find a positive quality of life improvement from the application of my knowledge and skills in this area. I enjoy many areas of dentistry. Root canals, crowns, fillings, and dentures. My passion in dentistry is seeing great results, and happy patients. My wife, Renee and I, like the Aloha spirit of caring and friendship that people experience while on vacation to Hawaii, so, we recently decided to change the name of my practice to Aloha dental. It reminds us every day to work gently and live Aloha.
Ive been a Dental Assistant for 19 years. Back in 2001 I graduated Bates Technical college in Tacoma Wa. In 2002 I started working for the Osthellers. During my 18 years of working for Dr. Ostheller I went through many life changes and milestones. Getting married, raising children, losing loved ones, buying my home. My loyalty to the Osthellers has always come without hesitation. I am very proud to say I am apart of Aloha Dental.
I graduated from Seattle Dental Assistanting school 2021. I had started my Externship with Aloha Dental and they soon became my working family. I love bringing happiness to peoples lives. It is such a great feeling when a patient shows appreciation for what we have done for them and walking out with a smile again. I enjoy making people more confident in themselves and helping families achieve better oral health. Outside of work I love enjoying my time with my son. We love being outdoors and adventuring.

Needed to get a filling filled on my 10 year old and they were able to see him right away. Friendliest staff ever, they made us feel like we were their most important patients and as a new patient Cade got a lei! We used to live in Hawaii, and entering into the office felt just like coming home! Our whole family is switching to Aloha Dental! Oh, and we don't have dental insurance and their prices are very reasonable for the high quality care.

The team at Aloha Dental is caring, compassionate, kind, and very good at what they do. No fear here. They take very good care of me every time I visit. This last visit I had two cavities filled and they did the prep work for a partial for me. My last visit was a dental cleaning. I am so happy I found Aloha Dental. I wish I had discovered them much sooner. --And they work with my Insurance. It doesn't get any better than this.

These folks were great to work with. All my questions were answered, and my options were explained. The facility is neat and clean, and they were cleaning again as soon as I left the room. Parking lot is adequate, and the location is close to town, but out of the congestion area. Very impressed.

Like MANY people, going to the dentist is not at the top of my list. Going to see a new dentist for the first time causes even more anxiety. What I found however was the kindest, gentlest and most patient dentist in Dr. Ostheller. He knew what he was doing and did it well. It wasn't a simple cavity fill either I may add. Not that I personally ever think a cavity fill is simple.... Then there was also his amazing assistant Krista. She was as patient and kind as Dr. Ostheller and went above and beyond to help me be as comfortable as possible. I rarely write a review on anyone or anyplace so when I say that I'm truly recommending this office for you and your family's care, know that I was truly impressed.

I've been afraid of dentists since my younger days. But, as I aged, my teeth suffered due to my fears. I've gone to CK Dental now (Aloha Dental) for many years now. I've had Bridges, Crowns, Cleanings, Extractions of Wisdom teeth, AND the dredded Root Canal. Each procedure has been very pleasant each time because Dr Joe is slow and patient to ensure your visit is pain-free before he begins work and the injection has done its work. If you are still in pain, he will give the meds more time to work. He has a very kind and considerate personality with patients. The entire staff is very kind and considerate, and they help to relax your anxiety, worries, or fears. Krista is one of the dental assistants. She has a keen ability to make you relaxed before the work begins in her preparations. They staff goes out of their way to explain the work done to make you at ease. Dr Joes practice is a little drive away in Silverdale, but when you have the work done that I've had done, and it was so pain-free. You will make a return visit when required and also refer your friends because they deserve this exceptional dental service as well. Many people are afraid of the pain and anxiety involved in dental work. Dr Joe and his staff will silence this fear, and you will now look and smile your best each day. Frank Mc

Just to be clear, this isn't a fake review. I am an actual patient at this dental facility. I HIGHLY recommend either making this your permanent dentist or even switching over. The staff is VERY professional and really make you feel as comfortable as possible, because let's face it. Nobody looks forward to going to see the dentist. They even do their best to schedule your appointments around YOUR schedule. I'm always skeptical when I read reviews like the one I'm giving. I can assure you, this place is DEFINITELY worth the 5 stars I'm giving. You will not be disappointed with the service and care you receive.

You have heard of a locals bar? How about a locals dentist office. The entire staff made me feel like I've lived in the area for years. They knew the name of every client that walked in the door. Shelly, the hygienist, has been serving this community for ages and was a pro every step of the way. They welcome people without insurance and helped me make great dental decisions! All smiles and I highly recommend!

just switched to this dentistry due to my anxiety at my old dentist. the people here are amazing! they had an option for a prescription if you have dentist anxiety to take before you get your fillings etc which i thought was really cool. the ladies that took my x-rays and cleaned my teeth were so chill and nice!! i felt like i was chatting with friends. the actual dentist is super cool too. very mellow, nice guy not aggressive or overbearing whatsoever which is how my last dentist was. i feel like they were super thorough with examining my teeth and my treatment plan, all of my questions were answered in layman's terms not in dentist language lol! never felt so relaxed at the dentist before. normally the chair goes back and i'm freakingggg out but not today! thank you guys for taking such good care of me!! i really appreciate it. -marcella

I have had a lot of dental work done. CK has not been short of amazing. The first day I was rescued from pulling my tooth on a bridge to a root canal another specialist could not do. Now I don't have to get a partial and be without two teeth for six months. Every need was addressed immediately. The team there are very personal and experienced. My cleaning was the best. I highly recommend them and let people know it, as I am now. Thank you Edral

I absolutely recommend Dr. Ostheller to anyone that has a fear of dentist. His calm demeanor, kind heart and knowledge of everything dental is a great mix of attributes! The staff are great and the dental hygienist's were very gentle.

I had a tooth break off, it was causing me quite a bit of pain. CK Family Dentistry got me right in. The Dr was so very good at giving shots and doing the extraction, I hardly even felt it, and I usually get anxiety, bad. But, I felt calm and everyone was so nice, and personable. Dr. Joe did a great job , as always. Whenever he works on my teeth , afterward I've never experienced any pain. Hes always has a positive attitude with a pleasant bedside manner. I'll keep him for my dentist as long as he keeps me as his patient. The girls that work for him are all very friendly & knowledgable of any dental questions I may have.
