I aspire to continually learn and share knowledge with my patients and colleagues. I love what I do because I get to work with each individual patient to create beautiful smiles and enhance their self-confidence.
I regularly attend the AAO annual session and always learn some new practice information, hear about cutting-edge research, and see the latest advances in technology in our field. I also love getting together with colleagues and discussing new treatment modalities. I participate in local Invisalign, TAD, and dental implant study clubs and am a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association.
Our team is absolutely the best. Everyone takes time to explain each procedure, so each patient is informed and comfortable. Our team is incredibly committed to working as a partner with every patient to maximize his or her health. We help discover the solutions that work for patients in creating and maintaining a beautiful, straight smile.
I am a native of the Washington, DC suburbs and am happy to return to this area to practice. I am married with two lovely sons and a daughter. When Im not spending time with my family, I enjoy pottery, knitting, reading, and swimming.
Ever since I was a teenager, I knew I wanted to be an orthodontist. I had such a wonderful experience being a patient that I knew I wanted to pay it forward and help create wonderful smiles for patients of my own one day.
Orthodontics requires planning for the future, to map out a sequence of intricate movements with the result of a beautiful, healthy smile. My favorite part is the end result, when the braces or attachments come off and all thats left is a beaming, radiant confident smile.
I treasure those moments and the impact it makes in our patients lives. I have wanted to be an orthodontist ever since I was in braces, and I am excited to provide you with the type of care that will inspire you to smile.
I received my bachelors degree from Michigan State University, where I majored in physiology. Then I attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where I graduated with honors in clinical dentistry. After that, I moved to New York City and completed a general practice residency at Montefiore Medical Center. I was most excited to receive my training in orthodontics at Vanderbilt University, one of the few remaining hospital-based orthodontic programs in the country.
As with most fields, advances in technology are changing the way we practice orthodontics. I enjoy attending continuing education courses so our patients can benefit from the latest innovations in treatment options.
Originally from Michigan, I have traveled the country to get the most comprehensive orthodontic training. Although my education took me to many different places, the East Coast has always felt like home.
I am happy to be back in the area with the skillset to offer you the highest standard of care. I am what you would call an extrovert and I strive to make my patients orthodontic experience fun and relaxed. I am thrilled to be a member of the esteemed Byrdsmiles Orthodontics team and to continue the legacy of creating radiant smiles in the Washington, DC area.
My husband is a native of the DC-area suburbs, and we enjoy taking advantage of all the arts and culture the city has to offer. We have a daughter, Lina, who we are excited to raise in this wonderful area. During my free time, I enjoy yoga, travel, and reading novels. I always have my nose in a book and welcome suggestions on my next read!

The staff are all super friendly and knowledgable, specifically Joy! I saw Dr. Talley and she was great and gave me lots of options to help me decide how I wanted to repair my bottom bridge (permanent retainer). They were quick and easy to book with and the office team all seemed supportive. I would highly recommend them if you're looking for an orthodontist practice in D.C.

Highly recommend visiting this orthodontist. Extremely helpful and professional. Assisted me with installing buttons for rubber bands and did a full consultation. The front desk were also so helpful in arranging my appointment and answering all questions. Wonderful staff, clean office and every orthodontic treatment is available here. I was also advised to see a dentist about other dental issues during consultation. Highly recommended!

Byrdsmiles has been in my life for 10+ years. From my first nightguard to my recent round of Invisalign, the team has been by my side. The staff is kind, gentle, patient and great with people of all ages - particularly kids. Dr. Talley and Dr. Clark are both fabulous, accommodating, warm, and professional.
