Very friendly and professional!

The general feel you get is them pushing their services instead of a genuine caring for the patients wellbeing. I wasn't in the chair 5 minutes before they were recommending three big procedures all previous dentists, including six months earlier, said were fine.

Horrible! First visit they did nothing but gather my doctors information and told me to come back in two weeks so that info could be generated. I went back in two weeks, had a 10:00 appt, was on time and proceeded to wait 1 hour before anyone came to talk to me! This person started asking me if I had premeditated and, of course, I had not - no one ever told me to more called anything for me! She said the doc would not call in anything but I should have asked my family doc to do so!?!? How would I know that??? I was simply there for a consultation with the Periodontist! What kind of Periodontist cannot call in a prescription! And, anyway, why do I need to premeditate for a consultation. She left me and another 15 minutes went by when another lady came to me (never introduced herself) and started to talk about my premeditating! I told her I had been waiting over an hour at this point and none of this was making any sense!she said she had not heard back from my doc for a release? A release is required for a consultation? Then she said that she had something she could give me before the consultation? At this point I have no idea who this person even is and this seemed sketchy at best, so I walked out! What a disaster and such a waste of my time!

Ripped me off by overcharging me $500 over payment amount agreed to with my insurance company. Fortunately my insurance company informed me of their shenanigans. Watch your back!

I went here because I wanted to find a new dentist and I saw a coupon for a $39. cleaning. I do not have dental ins. I did not get my $39. cleaning. Was told I needed a deep cleaning and had gum disease. Ended up costing $1800.00. It is a bait and switch!. I have a new dentist and do not have gum disease. Will never go back.

Very disappointed! Had a few crowns put in and was not happy with the feel or size. I talked with the dentist and he would not fix them!! He said it was because of my bite, I find that odd as I had the teeth in my mouth before the crowns and there was nothing wrong with my bite. I will never go there again!

Worst experience ever. Had a temporary crown done Dec 15 2021 and today went for permanent. First too small so they did an extension on it then 45 minutes later put it in my mouth and cemented. Then too big and was biting my cheek. They left it like that on this Friday and closed for the weekend. After 2 hours in chair walked out very uncomfortable and they closed at 1 so now stuck trying to avoid big-time my cheek. Doreen office manager is a lier and thief. I had many more options than what she offered. On top of that they owe me 11 dollars and I want it back even if it as 2 cents .

I gave 1 star because at first they were good, I do like the office. The people are nice, until you try to make an appointment to have dental surgery. The management in the office needs work.

A++ exceptional dental care overall with entire staff and doctor Harris is the best. I know that I am in good hands and always well taken care of when I visit there.

I had the same issue with this practice of 'deep cleaning'. I was told I had gum disease by this office. They refused to do a regular cleaning for me and wanted to charge me almost $800 for their deep cleaning. After having been given ridiculous pricing on all services, I decided to visit my dentists in NY. I had 2 exams independently and both said that I had healthy gums and keep doing what I am doing! I was also shocked with a $1200 bill for an extraction, AFTER insurance.

I deeply appreciate the professionalism as well as the kindness of those who took care of me on this appointment. i have a severe back problem, but the young woman who did my X-rays went out of her way to make me comfortable. Thank you so much for your compassion!

PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING HERE! It has been about a year since I have been to this dentist office, since then I have been going to a completely different dentist. The first appointment I had at my new dentist office I was told there was plaque buildup on my teeth that had been there for years. My entire family used to go here, my mom now is having to do extensive cleanings at another dentistry to fight gum disease. On top of that they charged us for a "missed appointment" that we didn't even make for my brother. Be fair warned!

Went in for a cleaning. After the exam they presented the treatment plan $608 for my gums. Earlier this year I saw a specialist that they recommended. He said my gums were fine. I regret going to this dentist. I paid $298 and didn't even get my teeth cleaned. Will not be going back.

BEWARE: THIS DENTIST IS A SCAM!! I switched insurance plans in 2021 to an HMO. I found out the hard way that the dentist I've used for the past few years does not accept HMO's. I found Byrd Dental Group and went there for my normal 6-month cleaning. It's worth mentioning that I keep up with my 6-month checkups and have good oral health. I brush and floss daily. I've always been told my teeth and gums are healthy except for some minor receding gums/bone loss due to aggressive brushing in my youth. I follow a maintenance plan for that. I've never heard the words gum or periodontal disease uttered in my presence by a dental professional. Byrd Dental did a set of x-rays and then the test to check my gums. The hygienist immediately said I had level 4 periodontal disease and worked up an $800 treatment plan for a deep scale cleaning and insertion of antibiotics into my gums to treat the infection. She took no time to ask about my dental history or even notice that my gums are healthy... Not red, puffy, inflamed, or other characteristics that are usual indicators of gum disease. I was shocked! As mentioned, I brush and floss daily, keep up with my dental checkups, and have never had any kind of gum disease diagnosis. Why would I need a deep scaling and antibiotics if I don't have an infection? Especially when this dentist told me periodontal disease is something that happens over an extended period of time, not within 6 months? I told the dentist's office that I would have to think about the $800 treatment plan and asked if I could get a regular cleaning instead. They said no... They would only perform the $800 cleaning on me. So, I left. The next day, I called my previous dentist and asked if they would review my x-rays and chart for any indication of periodontal disease. Long story short, they reviewed it. They found nothing close. I even went in for an additional exam and the regular cleaning that Byrd Dental would not give me. I was told I have minor receding gums/bone loss (which I already knew), but no gum disease of any kind. My teeth and gums are healthy, so the $800 deep scaling treatment plan was unnecessary. After a few additional conversations with friends in the dental industry, I found that this is a common practice for dentists that accept HMO plans. They don't make money off regular cleanings, so they find any excuse to up-charge you to get a cut. I was also told that insurance won't cover the deep scaling treatment unless your gum rating is a 5 or 6. Mine was mostly 4's, so the $800 quote I received for my "treatment plan" probably would have cost me closer to $2,500 once insurance rejected the claim. At the end of the day, if I truly had any kind of gum disease, I'd be all about treating it. I take my oral health seriously. However, I am also skeptical of having any kind of medical treatment that is not necessary. In my case, it was not necessary. You might visit this dentist and get a periodontal disease diagnosis. You may have it. You also may not. I hope this will at the very least make you skeptical about any kind of extra treatment plan they give you. You must be your own advocate with any kind of doctor. If you have decent oral health and this office tries to put you on the hook for $100's/$1000's of dollars, it's probably worth your time and money to get a second opinion.
