This has been a very traumatic experience with Byrd Dental group, Alpharetta office. Last December I broke a tooth on vacation and when coming in to have it fixed, the dentist said I should go ahead fix all 3 areas of the mouth. I had been negligent on going to dentist's the past few years for multiple reasons and so beginning this process was a huge step. The front desk stated I had to pay in full for the entire treatment plan and after I received the breakdown of services, I went ahead and paid roughly $5-6k (I estimate that number because I had to pay additional fees when coming in for 2 cleanings as they weren't included in the treatment plan). Over the past months I have been coming in and slowly doing things in phases- mind you I have been to probably 10 appointment this year. At my last appointment, a new receptionist tells me that I have a bill of $5k additional dollars! I stated that I couldn't even begin this plan until I PAID IN FULL because I had asked at the beginning if I could break the payments up. I fully believe that the office messed up the insurance quote and no one stated anything to me until my last appointment 9 months after I have begun this process. I got a bill and in May I even reached out to the office via email to have this looked into because I had paid in full, and Sonia said she would look into it. I never heard anything more and didn't worry about it because I HAD PAID IN FULL. Further, even though my bridges are ALREADY IN THE OFFICE, they will not finish my treatment (it's literally 1 final appointment) until I cough up $5k. I'm just, flabbergasted at how horribly messed up my process has been, traumatizing actually. I advise you, if you are getting any work done, do not go through Byrd Dental group or you may end up in the situation I did. Unfinished treatment plan though they had already ordered and received my bridges. So frustrating that no one seems to know what is going on and everyone seems to be blaming other employees (who don't work there any longer). This has been such a traumatic experience and I highly advise you look elsewhere for treatment (I will say this review is not a negative on the Staff who worked on me all year, they were great).

I had been going to this dental office since many years. Dr. Byrd and Dr. Williamson are great doctors, hygienist Diane did a great job. I had problems since Doreen left the front desk. Sonia has been very unprofessional not returning calls and wants to charge me twice even after I have shown her how the payments were made. No dental office completes their work unless they have received payments. She worked on my temporary crown and I and dr. Williamson realised that there was no temporary crown on when I went to fix the real crown. Unprofessional I don't think she has a license to practice. She offered me teeth whitening for 200$ .who does that. Still getting bills from them no one wants to call me back to solve it. They get three stars as the the doctors and hygienist were great.

Not recommended at all. WASTE of MONEY and TIME. Unnecessary X-rays, unnecessary procedures, and very unprofessional. They are careless about their clients and their time. After doing many X-rays, they told me I needed a crown for one of my teeth (I even doubted if it was necessary). I agreed to do it since I trusted them. They gave me a temporary crown until the permanent one gets ready. Everyone knows that a temporary crown can not stay more than 3-4 weeks because it leads to infection. However, they made me have the temporary one for 6 months. In the meantime, they scheduled with three appointments to get my permanent crown. At my first appointment, which was 4 weeks after getting a temporary one, they injected numbing medication and then gave me a wrong crown that even was not mine, and they were trying to adjust it forcefully. Without any consideration and apologizing for that, they told me that they need to order a new crown, and they will call me when it was ready. After 4 weeks, I even didn't receive any call. I went to their office in person, and they were lying that they tried to call me on the same number, but I didn't answer. Finally, I got my second appointment a week later. They gave me numbing injection again, and after manipulating my gums, they couldn't fix the new crown again. Long story short, I had to wait for one or two more months, to get my permanent crown which was not perfect again and was missing a small part of its top. It was so frustrating. Thereafter, I changed my primary dentist. And guess, what happened when I had my first appointments with them? They said they must redue that crown because of that missing part and also the existence of a ree space between the crown and gum that can lead to infection.

My husband and I made an appointment at Byrd Dental Group. They spent 45 mins taking multiple sets of full x-rays beyond what insurance normally covers. However, when it came to actual exam Delbert Williamson was as clueless as if this was his first day on the job. He nor the dental hygienist examined the inside of the mouth properly, asked to do more tests when I asked him on the general health of my implants - thought that the x-rays were fresh off the machine that day and would provide some clue. They did not do even do an oral cancer screening for my husband. As far as cleaning goes, I had to fight tooth and nail to get a regular cleaning done. They refused to do a regular cleaning for my husband, and forced him to do a deep cleaning. They do not even know what is covered as part of my insurance and even on my insistence would not perform a fluoride treatment. I had to call them 4 times to get a copy of the x-rays. Do not go there if you are serious about healthy dental hygiene.

Sonia has been the biggest help she's gone above and beyond to help me out and I truly do appreciate it during these hard times and it's so hard to find a company that truly cares about someone enough to help them rather than just caring about the money and this dental group is just awesome and I would recommend them to anyone!

Dealing with this dental office has been a complete nightmare. From receiving the wrong ortho treatment to trying to get my approved refund that I've yet to receive. It's been 4 plus months and counting and Sonia Claudio is proving that she isn't making much effort in helping me with this request. Byrd dental needs to remove their mission statement as long as they have Sonia as an office manager. In any way shape or form have I been treated like "family".
