Dr. Moore graduated with a BA in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) in 1982. He earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UNC in 1986, then went on to complete his MS degree with a certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Pediatric Dentistry at Ohio State University in 1988. Dr. Moore is currently an adjunct professor for his alma mater UNC School of Dentistrys Dept. of Pediatric Dentistry.

A Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Moore is also a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), NC Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (NCAPD), Southeast Society of Pediatric Dentistry (SESPD), Southwest Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and NC Dental Society. He has served as president of the NCAPD and as a board member for the SESPD, and has worked on many national AAPD committees.

Dr. Hwang received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) in 2003, after first earning a BS in Chemistry. During dental school, Dr. Hwang participated in rotations at the Childrens National Medical Center in Washington, DC and the pediatric dental clinic at Gaston Health Services in Gastonia. Following dental school, Dr. Hwang completed her training in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Iowa.

Dr. Hwang is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, NC Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and NC Dental Society.

Dr. Hwangs chose her career in pediatric dentistry due to her own fear of dentists as a child. She strives to make a difference in each of her patients dental and overall health by providing individualized and compassionate care. Outside the office, Dr. Hwang enjoys reading, cooking and volunteering at her sons schools. She and her husband also love to spend family time together with their two young sons, Evan and Owen.

Dr. Nixon graduated from the University of Detroit in Michigan with a BA in Chemistry before going on to earn a dental degree from Northwestern University in Chicago. She received her Certificate of Pediatric Dentistry from New Yorks Columbia University School of Dental Surgery. Dr. Nixon has practiced in the pediatric field for more than 15 years, and enjoys hospital privileges at Carolinas Healthcare System, University Hospital, where she also serves on the Executive Committee.

An ardent supporter of children in need who is passionate about making a difference in kids lives, Dr. Nixon volunteers her time and services for several charitable causes. These include Rowan and Cabarrus Counties Head Start programs and Bright Smiles, Bright Future, a program that provides free dental screenings and oral health education to at-risk children. She also volunteers her services for Give Kids a Smile and NC Missions of Mercy, outreach programs that provide access to dental healthcare.

Whether acting as a role model or working to make a child more comfortable and happy while the dentist, Dr. Nixon is committed to bettering the lives of the patients she serves. She has two daughters, and devotes her free time to traveling, cooking, and supporting the arts.

Carrie Dunlap, DDS, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor In Chemistry from Campbell University. In 2004 she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During dental school, Dr. Dunlap participated in extramural rotations at the Oral Surgery Department of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Pediatric Dental Clinics of Cumberland and Orange Counties.

Dr. Dunlap is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), the North Carolina Dental Society, North Carolina Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Charlotte Dental Society.

Dr. Dunlap has a sincere passion for her profession. Dr. Dunlap believes that being a mother of three children has helped give her the patience and perspective to compassionately treat children. Dr. Dunlap enjoys spending time with family, traveling, baking and being outdoors. She and her husband, Shane, are the proud parents of one son, Carson, and two daughters, Caroline and Campbell.
