The most exciting part of my work is seeing my patients excitement with their new smiles! Its always rewarding to discover all the ways a healthy, beautiful smile makes a difference in peoples lives, and to see my patients gain confidence as their treatment progresses.

I attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where I majored in Biochemistry. I obtained my Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee, Memphis. I continued my studies there, and was awarded a Master of Dental Science in Orthodontics.

I grew up in Dickson, Tennessee. Im married to Amanda, my high school sweetheart, and we have two children, Elliott and Audrey. We share our home with our mini schnauzer Carly and our labradoodle Hank.

I love spending time with my family and watching my kids play school sports. In my free time, youll find me playing tennis, at the gym, and taking care of my lawn. I believe in giving back to the community in any way possible, in gratitude to all those who have helped me succeed.

We recognize that all of our patients are unique and deserve to receive orthodontic care that reflects their individual needs. Our experienced and talented team is committed to working with you and your family to create a comfortable, stress-free, and rewarding orthodontic experience every time you visit our practice.

Megan studied at the Dental Staff School of Tennessee, working in general dentistry, oral surgery, and endodontics. She works with patients one on one, and you might see her when its time to change your wires or bands. She appreciates the family feeling in the office, and Dr. Burrs willingness to answer any and all of her professional questions. Her favorite part of the job is watching patients excitement as they notice changes in their alignment and see the differences in their before and after smiles.

She loves working with Dr. Burr and the team because she learns new things about orthodontics every day, and she especially enjoys working side by side with them to create beautiful smiles. Her favorite part of the job is getting to see patients smiling faces when theyve finished orthodontic treatment.

Sydney attended dental assistant school at Complete Dental Care Educational Center of Jackson, TN. Joining our office in 2020, she assists Dr. Burr with patient care, takes records for new patients, and makes sure the day runs smoothly and efficiently. Most importantly, she ensures that our patients enjoy their time in our office. That part is easy, as our office is so laid-back and fun!

Sydney spends her free time with her beautiful daughter, Blakelyn. They love to ride horses and spend the weekends barrel racing, taking their rodeo pup Hank along for the ride. Their biggest fan and greatest supporter, Sydneys significant other, Clayton, always comes to cheer them on whatever the adventure may be.

We see each of our patients as unique individuals, and Dr. Burr takes the time to understand each patients orthodontic needs and goals. We provide a variety of treatment options and up-to-date technology to create healthy, confident smiles.

We are proud of the fact that new patients come to us because theyve seen the beautiful results of our work in the smiles of their friends and relatives, and know that theyll be getting the best orthodontic treatment available when they choose us.

An orthodontist is a dental specialist who has received two to three years of additional training and experience. Your orthodontist is able to straighten teeth, correct misaligned jaw structure, and improve the function of your smile.

If you want to improve the look and feel of your smile, then any age can be a great age to see the orthodontist. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children first visit an orthodontist around the age of seven; however, orthodontic treatment is not exclusive to children and teens, with about one in every five orthodontic patients being over the age of 21. Whether you're considering treatment for yourself or for a child, any time is a good time to visit the orthodontist.

  • Keep your retainer clean, too, by brushing it gently with a toothbrush and toothpaste. You may also soak it in denture cleaner as instructed by your orthodontist. Do not put your retainer in boiling water or in the dishwasher.
  • Avoid sticky and chewy foods (caramel, chewing gum, gummy bears), hard foods (hard candy, nuts, ice cubes), or any foods that could possibly get stuck in your braces (corn on the cob, soft bagels, ribs, taffy, etc.).
  • The amount of time spent in braces will vary depending on the individual patient, because every smile responds differently to treatment. Treatment times can take anywhere between six and 30 months, but most standard treatments take about 22 months.

With braces, you should brush your teeth at least three times a day to keep your teeth, gums, and mouth healthy and clean. Brushing regularly will help remove any food that may be caught between the braces. You should also floss daily to get in between your braces where your brush isn't able to reach. Your orthodontist can show you how to properly brush and floss once your braces are placed.

Yes! In fact, it's even more important that patients receiving orthodontic treatment visit their dentist regularly. With braces, food may be caught in places that your toothbrush can't reach. This causes bacteria to build up that can lead to cavities, gingivitis, and gum disease. Your dentist will work closely with your orthodontist to make sure that your teeth stay clean and healthy while wearing braces.

Playing an instrument or a contact sport may require some adjustment when you first get your braces, but wearing braces will not stop you from participating in any of your school activities. If you play a contact sport, it is recommended that you wear a mouthguard to protect your braces or appliance.

Over a year ago they refused to take off my wife's top only braces right after an appointment ended without a $200+ extra charge for another month, forcing us to keep her braces on over a year later because we couldn't and still cannot afford to take off her braces in another state for almost $800. Appreciate it!

My oldest son is a patient there and they are so awesome to work with. He has been going for a few years now and soon will be getting his braces off and they have done an incredible job. They are always helpful to work with his appointment times and getting him in if needed. He loves all the staff there and if my youngest needs braces then I would not take him anywhere else.

I have never been treated so rudely by a business. I am a firm believer in giving good ratings but if a company deserves bad ratings I give them too. My husband took my son the first time and so you know men don't always remember everything so we scheduled an app and went in and a very rude condescending woman behind the counter who kept whispering to her colleagues said we can't see him unless we had 500 in cash well I was a little blown away so I apologized and so did my husband it was on the paper but not told to us. So she rudely says can you come up with it by June? We said sure but we are a hardworking family so we reschedule. I contact them they then email me and say sorry we can't reschedule you so now I have to find another ortho. I will be taking my business to Franklin. Thank you for showing a local how well you think of their business.
