Our practice is focused on staying current with the latest techniques and technology. Our entire staff is CPR certified and attends annual training to ensure we are OSHA compliant. The Drs. and hygienists well exceed the mandatory annual continuing education hours (Drs. 15 hrs.; hygienists 6 hrs.). Both Drs. are also members of local dental study clubs and all staff members attend applicable sessions and obtain additional training pertinent to their job responsibilities.
Laurabeth is originally from northern New Jersey and graduated from William Paterson University in 2011 with a degree in Public Health Education. She has been in the dental field since 2012 and loves greeting everyone with a smile; making them feel comfortable about coming to the dentist. She moved to the Wilmington area in 2019 with her husband Joe, two dogs and Charlotte the pig. In her spare time, she loves crocheting, fishing, and spending time with her little family.
Savannah is from Port Orange, FL and moved to Wilmington in 2019. She currently attends The University of Alabama receiving a bachelors degree in food and nutrition. She loves seeing patients fulfilled and smiling after a dentist visit. In her free time she loves to go to the gym, travel, hang out with friends as well as her boyfriend, Taylor.
Julie, a full-time hygienist, is from Concord, NC, and has lived in Wilmington since 2004. She received a bachelor's degree in Health Promotion from Appalachian State University prior to earning a degree in Dental Hygiene at Cape Fear Community College. With her educational background and love for healthy smiles, Julie is committed to providing a comfortable and educational experience. In her free time, she enjoys walking her dogs, fishing and kayaking.
Sherry is a seasoned hygienist with over 30 years experience having graduated with an Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene in 1981 from her native state of WV. Since then she has practiced in both Pittsburgh and Charlotte now looking to finish her career in Wilmington after being drawn here because of her love for the water. She has two grown daughters and one granddog named Zola. Her favorite pastimes include boating, kayaking, biking and reading. Because of her own attention to detail, she is excited to become part of a team with an outstanding work ethic and dedication to exceptional patient care.
Karen graduated from Tennessee State University in 1992 with an Associate degree in dental hygiene. She also earned an Associate Business degree from Miami University of Ohio. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio; Karen and her husband moved to the Wilmington area in 2013 to be near family. She has over 20 years of experience in dental hygiene. In her free time she enjoys the beach, golfing and tennis.
Erica graduated in 2018 from Goodwin University located in Hartford CT, with an associates degree in Dental Hygiene. Originally from East Providence RI, Erica and her husband moved to Wilmington in search of a fun, ocean-side community in warmer weather. In her days off she enjoys spending time at the beach with her family, practicing yoga and going for hikes with her dogs. Erica loves meeting each patient where they are at in their dental journey and empowering them with knowledge and habits for a lifelong healthy smile.
Dana has been a dental assistant since 2004. Natives of Charlotte NC, Dana and her husband moved to Wilmington in 2015. She loves working in the dental field and her true passion is being able to make the patients feel at home and comfortable during their visit. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and their three dogs, Hank, Ryder and Chyna, usually on the water.
Katy graduated from Cape Fear Community College's Dental Assisting Program in 1996. Over the last 19 years, she has built her career on the principal of caring. As a Wilmington native, Katy enjoys many outdoor activities the area offers. In her spare time you may catch her walking her dog Tasha, paddle boarding or volunteering at church.
Victoria is a dental assistant with over 17 years of experience and a passion for Dentistry. Victoria and her four children Tyler, Dylan, Landon and Zoe love Wilmington but are natives of Northern Virginia. She loves spending time at the beach with her family, going to concerts and drawing. Her understanding and compassionate demeanor helps patients with high anxiety to feel comfortable and relaxed.
Madison graduated from Miller Motte with her associates in dental science in 2014. Native to Charlotte, she moved to Wilmington to start her career as a Dental Assistant. Her mother was a Wilmington native and wanted her to be where she wishes she could be! Madison started off in Pediatrics for 5 years and now has come to love general dentistry and what it has to offer. She enjoys helping people of all ages to make their smile how they envision it, as well as making them feel comfortable in the dental chair. She loves to spend her time with her 3 sweet pups, Angel, Buddy and Camo, and her husband, James. Madison and her family love going on their boat and fishing.
Eric William Burns was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. Upon completion of High School in Algiers, LA, Dr. Burns enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served 6 years active duty in Hawaii and Okinawa, Japan. He then decided to attend Southeastern Louisiana State University in Hammond, LA for his Bachelor of Science Degree. While attending college, he also served in the Louisiana Army Reserve National Guard and then attended the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans for his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. After graduation, Dr. Burns returned once again to the military for four years; specifically the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC as a military dentist and then as an associate in private practice. In 2010, Dr. Burns began working in Wilmington and purchased our practice. He currently serves in the U.S. Army Reserves as a dental instructor at the Joint Special Operations Medical Training Center. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, the North Carolina Dental Society and the Wilmington Tri-County Dental Society.
Casey Guthrie Burns was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. She attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA for her undergraduate Bachelor of Science and was then accepted to the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry where she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Relocating with Dr. Eric Burns to Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, NC, she was an associate in a private practice group focusing mainly on esthetic restorations, implant dentistry and pediatric dentistry. In 2011, Dr. Burns relocated to the Wilmington area and has maintained the same focus; remaining very active in continuing education as a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, North Carolina Dental Society and Port City Study Club (Seattle Study Club).
