Our entire team loves being a part of the Little Rock community, so when were not helping patients, we dedicate much of our free time to organizations and causes that strive to make our home a happier and healthier place for everyone. Thats why we frequently partner and support local law enforcement, donate to Womens Own Worth, and offer a helping hand to underprivileged patients who cant afford basic dental care.
Our team includes several general dentists, two oral surgeons, an endodontist, prosthodontist, as well as an anesthesiologist. What this means for our patients is that no matter what procedure they need, they can trust it will be provided by a doctor who is able to perform it at the highest possible level. In his younger years, Dr. Machen was given the opportunity to closely observe a friend of his who worked as a dentist. It didnt take long for him to realize that what he was seeing looked exactly like what he wanted his own future to be! The rest, they say, is history.
Dr. Machen completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Southern Arkansas University, followed by his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee in 1987. He has also undergone state-of-the-art training in BOTOX and TMJ treatment. He is a current member of the American Dental Association, Arkansas State Dental Association, and the Center District Dental Society.
Dr. Murphy decided late in high school that he wanted to either work in healthcare or attend law school, but it was difficult to choose a path. In his early college years, he visited his family dentist and orthodontist, who encouraged him to give dentistry a closer look. Later on, he took a course in dental anthropology, which helped to seal the deal as he really enjoyed it. Dentistry was also appealing to him because the doctor/patient relationships seemed so strong. He was very fortunate to be able to buy his family dentists office after graduating from dental school, and the rest is history.
After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Dr. Murphy pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis. Today, he always takes more than the required number of continuing education hours on a yearly basis to keep his skills sharp. He regularly attends the American Dental Association annual meeting as well, which features a plethora of education and networking opportunities.
Dr. Murphy also feels very fortunate to have worked part-time at the Arkansas Childrens Hospital Dental Clinic for over a decade, where he received invaluable experience regarding dental trauma in young children and teenagers. Some of his other accolades and distinctions include:
Dr. Murphy and his wife Candice met at the University of Arkansas in 1980 and have been married for over 35 years. She is the Computer Brain of the family with a BSHE degree, a BS degree in Management Information Systems, and a Masters in Information Quality! They are very proud of their grown children Ross and Paige. Ross is an attorney while Paige works in the film/television industry and is pursuing her Masters in Documentary Film.

Awsome people working here and Dr Burnett is awsome. Had a tooth pulled that was bothering me real bad and it was a totally painless experience! I have had other teeth pulled other places and it was painful from the start but the nurses and the Dr here know what they are doing and made it painless!! Any time I need anything done like pulling teeth I will be going here!!

Loved the whole team! Including the gentle anesthesiologist, didn't even feel the Iv being put in. Day 2 of wisdom teeth removal, I've had no pain including where the iv was! Was a quick surgery an looking to be a quick recovery.

I'm so grateful for Dr. Barnett and his entire team. It's not easy to find an Oral surgeon who will work on high risk patients. My husband had an LVAD prior to being blessed with a heart transplant and our daughter has severe Cerebral Palsy and he didn't blink on helping both. Need to setup new appts as soon as Covid is gone.

Professionalism is at it's all time high here! The staff is great. Went in for a surgical extraction, they made sure I was at ease. Everything was explained well and made sure I understood. Would recommend to any one! Keep up the good work people!!!!!!

I do not know who Mr Locke went to but I do not believe he was at the same office I was. I was treated politely and respectfully and did not have to sign any papers that said any of the things he stated nor did I lose any blood. Perhaps they have people who have a history of not paying their medical bills sign "special papers". Now that I think of it, there was a very rude man in the office the same day I was there that kept insisting they just pull his tooth.. Hmmmm I wonder if that was him??

I think I have been treated better by military dentist clinics. The staff is not nice and not very empathic. You are treated as a financial deadbeat as soon as you get to the counter. Papers are thrust at you, your Id cards are whisked away, you must sign papers that straight out say that they are going to take you to court and ruin your credit if they don't receive every dime they are owed, in advance, in blood. I am sure they do not understand what it is like to wait a week in constant pain to see them, and then be overwhelmed by their lack of organization. In the middle of my exam, the person who makes appointments just leaves. I was told just to leave and they would call me when they could schedule my next appointment
