Orthodontic benefits are different from regular dental insurance and policies vary. Some employers offer flexible spending accounts to their employees as a benefit. This option allows employees to set aside contributions BEFORE federal, state and social security taxes are removed. The result is that your taxable income is reduced and the contributions can be used for health and dental expenses.
