Dr. Burke is a native of California and was raised in Anaheim. He attended Valencia High School in Placentia and graduated in 1979. His undergraduate education was completed at UC Santa Barbara and UC San Diego where he majored in Chemical Engineering. He was admitted to the UCLA School of Dentistry (the #1 rated dental school in the country) after just three years of undergraduate work and is the youngest ever to graduate from UCLA with a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree.
After UCLA, Dr. Burke spent a year as a General Practice Resident at the VA Medical Center in San Francisco, developing skills in complex general dental treatment and rotating through the specialty services at the hospital. Dr. Burke then moved to Birmingham, Alabama, where he completed a three-year specialty residency in Orthodontics and simultaneously earned a Master of Science degree through the graduate school at UAB.
After graduation in 1990, Dr. Burke returned to Southern California as an associate in several established Orange County practices. In 1991, he started his own practice in the Inland Empire area and has been living here ever since! He spent 6 years as a part-time faculty member at UCLA, in the Department of Orthodontics, teaching both dental students and orthodontic residents.
He earned his American Board of Orthodontics certification in 2001. He occasionally visits UAB where he serves as a visiting lecturer to the orthodontic residents and is known to attend Alabama football games. He is a member of the San Diego Academy Orthodontic Study Club and enjoys clinically based continuing education throughout the country. He has lived in the Temecula valley with his family since 1991. In his free time he enjoys surfing, softball, and is trying to learn to play golf.
Dr. Redford was born and raised in Utah, where he attended high school and obtained his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University in 2008. While in college, he majored in Biology and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a perfect 4.0 GPA. He was subsequently admitted to the UCLA School of Dentistry (the dental school with the most difficult admissions standards in the United States) as an out-of-state applicant.
While at UCLA, Dr. Redford was elected by his peers to be President of his class. His academic success led him to graduate with Cum Laude honors and be inducted into the prestigious OKU Dental Honor Society. After UCLA, Dr. Redford attended the Medical College of Virginia Orthodontics residency program and earned a Master of Science degree in dentistry from the graduate school.
After graduation, Dr. Redford returned to Southern California as an associate orthodontist in several San Diego practices, where he refined his orthodontic philosophy and gained the necessary experience to treat any case with absolute confidence. He joined Dr. Burkes established practice in the Temecula valley in 2016 as a partner and will be with the practice for the remainder of his career.
He and his family moved to Temecula in 2016 and live just down the street from the Temecula location. He is board eligible with the American Board of Orthodontics and will finish his certification in 2019. Dr. Redford, when not at the office treating patients, can be found either attending orthodontic continuing education courses or studying the latest advances in orthodontic literature.
Dr. Redford also speaks Mandarin Chinese after having spent several years living in Taiwan during his college years. He lives in Temecula with his wife, Jenny, and has three young children, Penn, Thea and Sylvie. In his free time he enjoys golfing, watching sports, and spending time with his family.
