Before obtaining her dental degree, Dr. Bunnag worked as a certified dental assistant. In 1990, Dr. Bunnag completed her prerequisite for dental school at Montgomery College. She received her dental degree from Howard University School of Dentistry in 1994.
Dr. Bunnag received many recognitions for her outstanding humanitarian work. In October of2017, she became the first woman dentist to receive the American Dental Association Humanitarian of the Year 2017 Award. Recently, she has been chosen by Ultradent dental company to be one of the five women to be recognized as Icons of Dentistry, 2018.
Dr. Bunnag is a general dentist with extensive training in comprehensive dental care including restorative and cosmetic dentistry, periodontics, endodontics, orthodontics, implant surgery, temporomandibular disorders, Botox and fillers, CEREC CADcam, Sleep apnea and Clear aligners and Solea Laser. She continues to expand her horizons through extensive continuing dental education and seeks the best practice and treaments for her patients so that they can obtain optimal dental health.
Dr. Bunnag is a native of Thailand. She migrated to the US when she was 14. She has two grown son and a lovely daughter-in-law. Dr. Bunnag is also a caregiver for her husband who suffered a massive stroke in 2009. She is an avid gardener;self-taught watercolor artist; mindfulness meditation coach and a dog lover.
Anissa is a Maryland native, and currently resides in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. She graduated with a certificate of Dental Hygiene from Howard University School of Dentistry, and received her BS in Dental Hygiene at University of Maryland School of Dentistry. She loves non-surgical periodontal therapy and strives to provide each patient with the highest level of quality care. She is well loved here at Dr. Bunnag's office, and has been at this office for the past 12 years, and also at a periodontal office in Washington DC for the last 9 years.
