Being a woman of color, I try to support minority businesses, but this business is an epic FAIL! I am so upset with Bull City Dental and I will NEVER (let me repeat).....EVER go there or refer people to this place of business ever again. First, let me just say that the initial cost that they present to you is a complete LIE because before you know it you get bill, upon bill, upon bill stating that you owe them more money. My previous dental office NEVER did this to me and I had the same insurance. I even drove 45 mins out of my way to support and this is just a slap in my face for sure, and I had to pay for parking! Well lesson learned for me! Whoever is doing your billing at your office may need to get reeducated on how to bill clients properly and not to provide them with false information. This place has so many hidden charges its just too much. But they will NEVER have to worry about me ever again, I will take my business else where. I will gladly spread the word on how this office operates for sure! I never thought I would say this but I will GLADLY GIVE MY MONEY TO A NON-MINORITY BUSINESS OVER THIS BUSINESS ANYDAY! You truly lost my respect!

Wow. This was a medical experience for the books. I had a filling performed by Dr. Kemp months ago. At my last cleaning, she says there was an "issue" with how she did it so it would be fixed for free. She scheduled that appointment for today. I go in and discover the "issue" was that it needed to be completely redone. I remind them, before they begin, that this was going to be done for free per Dr. Kemp. The hygienist said she understood and saw that there was a $0 charge listed for the procedure in the chart. I wait 45 minutes for a dentist (not Dr Kemp) to arrive, who proceeds to fill me up with novocaine. (A painful process, as you may know, involving giant needles in your mouth.) A woman returns and informs me this will cost $100 unless I want to re-schedule with Dr. Kemp!! Not kidding, folks. Now I've wasted 2 hours of my day and can't work because I can't feel half my face and can't speak normally. The best part? I get to go back and experience it all again! 3 visits and 3 novocaine ordeals for one filling that they couldn't do right the first time. I am done here.

I don't look forward to dentist visits (I don't think anyone does), but Bull City Dental makes me dread them a whole lot less than I used to. Dr. Kemp and the hygienists always explain exactly what they're doing and why. Everyone here is so kind, and I always feel at ease in an office staffed by women.

I went to Bull City Dental a few times over 2ish years in 2018-2020. After my first visit, they suggested I had a cavity, and I had it filled by them shortly after. After my second visit, they suggested I had another cavity. I got a really weird feeling from them at this visit, and decided to see another dentist for a second opinion (I hadn't had any cavities for 20+ years before going here, so I was a little suspicious). The new dentist said there's some wear on my teeth as they would expect at my age, but no cavity and no need for any fillings. They had no knowledge of what I'd already heard. After that experience, I can only conclude that Bull City Dental was doing some "exploratory" dentistry and can't trust that they had my interest at heart :-(

Over priced claim they take your insurance but then won't accept what they pay. A cleaning and exam is 100% covered and they keep trying to bill me extra money. No way Bull City you accept my insurance you accept what they pay. You think you are slick I am not the one. Stop billing me for nothing.

I love going to Bull City Dental. I selected them upon moving to Durham out of proximity to where I lived and 3 years later I am so grateful I did. The staff is friendly, personable, and make going to the dentist a positive experience. They genuinely care about their patients and what is best for them in an all around perspective.

Absolutely love Dr. Kemp and all the staff. They are professional and knowledgeable. I used to be nervous about going to the dentist, but I trust Dr. Kemp and I am always calm when I'm in the chair. I've never had a bad experience. The front desk staff remembers me and gives me a warm greeting when I come in. I recommend this place to everyone asking about dental services.

I've been going to Bull City Dental for 2 years for routine cleanings and am glad I chose them as my dental health provider. The staff is very professional, kind, cheerful, and make sure to inform me about every step of the process. Dr. Kemp always pays a visit at the end of my cleaning to make sure I'm happy and to double check the hygienist's work. I also really like their jazzy decor and the waiting room magazines are great :).
