Dr. Merilynn Yamada founded Buena Vista Orthodontics in 1990 and was voted Burbanks Best Orthodontist many years in a row. She is a certified orthodontic specialist who graduated from the nationally renowned UCSF Department of Orthodontics and the UCLA School of Dentistry. She was awarded scholarships and graduated with distinction, being elected to Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a society honoring the top 11 percent of the class. She was also a UCLA undergraduate and graduated on the Deans Honor Roll, Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She is known for her excellent diagnostic skills and treatment results, a great sense of humor and excellent rapport with her patients.
In addition to her private practice, she has volunteered her services to children in need throughout her career. She has donated her services for over 18 years to the St. Josephs Hospital Dental Clinic and the Burbank Community Dental Clinic.

The minute I stepped into their office, I've been treated with respect and great care. The entire staff made my visit very enjoyable. They understand the concept of providing good patient experience. I came in for a Invisalign consultation and after a year and a half, left with a huge smile on my face. My experience from start to finish was positive. I want to thank the entire team for their kindness and attention, for being organized, and for being very understanding and flexible. Also, Dr. Yamada and her team are experts at what they do. Trust them. Not every clinical office and business can thrive the way you do. I appreciate all the work you do and please keep it up. I'm very happy with my results.

Dr Yamada, Dr Sia, and everyone at Buena Vista Orthodontics was awesome. Overall had a great experience and would definitely recommend. Gabby was also super awesome. She's quick and efficient and definitely wants to get you in and out of the office. Highly recommend appointments before noon because it gets real busy around 2/3pm until closing with kids coming in from school.

I couldn't recommend Dr Yamada enough! I had an overbite that worsened over the years and was causing TMJ. Her recommendation for Invisalign not only resolved the jaw issues, but corrected my bite and straightened my teeth in the process. It really was a double win and now I can floss without it getting stuck in my teeth! Something I didn't think about until a month or so into the treatment. Highly recommend and the location and parking are very convenient.

Wow I went from crooked teeth to straight in less than a year! I used to be embarrassed to smile so this is a huge difference. This is truly one of the last great Dental/Orthodontics offices in LA. Dr Yomada and her staff are very friendly and accommodating. I couldn't be happier with my results.

Dr. Yamada is so talented even with my crooked adult teeth! All of her staff are incredible with my ongoing treatment. I was able to get my braces off the week before I attended the Academy Awards last year-I was so grateful for my beautiful smile there! Thank you Dr Yamada and staff for making me look younger, have less headaches, and a straight pretty smile!

Buena Vista Orthodontics is by far an exceptional place. They have the greatest staff and everyone is coordinated and have high communication. My children have practically grown io going to this office and today another just got her braces take off. I highly recommend this place for orthodontic treatment.

Though it was a long process, Dr. Yamada did a very good job despite a crowded situation. After almost 5 years of treatment, things worked out and the removal of a tooth to make more room was avoided. The staff is also very sweet and takes the time to get to know their clients... shout-out to Gabby
