A little about me. Im Pennsylvania born and bred. Im the first in my family to attend college. As the son of an x-ray tech & a nurse, I grew up around medicine & always knew that would be my path. After the confidence changing orthodontic experience I had as a teenager, I knew I wanted to create confident, stunning smiles for my lifes work.
I attended Dickinson College where I graduated with honors, played football & made lifelong friends. I then attended the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine for a 4-year Dental School program, an advanced dental degree(AEGD), an oral surgery internship, and a 2-year Orthodontics program. I was also a Dentist in Philadelphia during that time. All of this training has given me the unique ability to diagnose and treat for optimum craniofacial growth and development. Im also proud to be Board Certified ~ a distinction held by few Orthodontists.
Ive treated patients from Park Avenue to Doylestown and everywhere in between in my 15+ years as an Orthodontist. Creating bold, exceptional smiles that give my patients confidence for life is my WHY. I believe that orthodontics isnt just about straightening teeth. Its about giving my patients unique & comprehensive treatment plans to create smiles that last for a lifetime. An aligned bite, optimum facial aesthetics, a properly aligned profile and so much more all go into crafting the perfect smile.
I use the most advanced technology available to ensure you get your perfect smile faster, with greater comfort and in fewer visits because I cater to my busy adults and families, to the hustlers that dont have time to go to the orthodontist every 4 weeks!

As the leading provider of LightForce 3D printed fully custom braces in the entire greater Philadelphia area, I was recently chosen to be a Key Opinion Leader for LightForce Orthodontics. In this important role, I am teaching orthodontists across North America how to utilize this innovative fully customized, 3D-printed aesthetic braces system. I am honored to pioneer this groundbreaking technology and help enable my fellow orthodontists to provide a higher level of care, while providing a better overall experience to their patients.
Our BCO mission is simple ~ Create perfect smiles while providing an orthodontic experience like no other & giving back to our community. BCO is the Exclusive Orthodontic Provider for Penn Athletics and supports the YMCA, CB Cares, iRun4Life, Coaches vs. Cancer, the Travis Manion Foundation, Bucks 5k Series, Pine2Pink and countless additional local teams, groups, and events. My wife, Tia, and I have been members of the Doylestown 9/11 Heroes Run Committee and are yearly Celebrity Waiters for CB Cares.
I live in Doylestown with my wife, Tia, and our 2 young children. Im into all things Philadelphia especially the food scene & all Philly sports. Ive also lived in NYC & loved the energy, culture & night life there. I love to explore new cities & also being out in nature. Bucks County has so much to offer & I am honored to live and work here!

At our initial consultation Dr.Welsh and Tia was amazing! They went through each step thoroughly. They also really took the time to talk to my son and ease some anxious nerves! My son feels comfortable and that's all this mom can ask for!!

Though I have not yet completed orthodontic treatment with Dr. Welsh, I wanted to leave a review because the experience I have had thus far at Bucks County Orthodontics has far exceeded my expectations. I fully plan on receiving treatment through BCO when the time comes and I'm really looking forward to it. I have had issues with my teeth for years and previously wore braces, but my bite re-opened. I consulted a handful of orthodontists over the course of 5 years and most of them left me feeling pretty hopeless about my situation. It wasn't until I met with Dr. Welsh and his awesome wife Tia that I finally felt like I'm on the right path. Dr. Welsh did a thorough examination of my teeth and my biting/tongue habits. He noticed something that had been overlooked for years-- my tongue thrust. He worked alongside his trusted colleagues to get me a clear idea of how I can best move forward and gave me hope about a situation I had been feeling bleak about. I'm now working with a myofunctional therapist who Dr. Welsh recommended and she is fantastic as well. From the terrific office staff at BCO to the amazing doctor and his outstanding teammate/wife, you will know you and/or your child are in exceptional hands with this practice. This is a doctor who truly wants to get results for his patients and ensure that you're feeling great about the process. So even though I have yet to go through the orthodontics process, I emphatically recommend Bucks County Orthodontics! I fully trust in the knowledge and skills of Dr. Welsh and can't wait until the day comes when I can smile with confidence!

My wife was interested in having some orthodontist work. Dr. Welsh and his Staff were very professional and patient in explaining what to expect for the procedure. They were very informative and helpful. My wife and I would definitely recommend Dr. Welsh and his Staff for any orthodontics services.

As a dentist I visited a few practices when it came time for my kids to get orthodontics that I was not able to complete myself and specifically looked for certain criteria. First and foremost was clinical knowledge paired WITH patient skill. Dr. Welsh far exceeds this criteria. Period. Second was the ease at which my kids felt on the consultation. The BCO Team welcomed us as whole in a more genuine manner. The coordinator and Dr. Welsh talked patiently and answered questions any of us had. Additionally, I can tell Dr. Welsh leads his Team by example. Two years into treatment with 2 kids, I can tell you he and his Team are always well prepared, organized, and there is an absence of chaos. The office is clean and spacious, has followed and continues to follow healthcare facility guidance (as a dental colleague ofc that's important to me), and our appointments always run smoothly. I encourage anyone to consult Dr. Welsh. We have had an awesome experience!

My son has been a patient at BCO for almost 2 years. He was being monitored for a while and the process wasn't started until it was going to be comfortable and work for him. He is always included in the conversation and everything is explained so that we can understand. Everyone in the office is friendly and the appointments run on schedule. It is never overcrowded in the office. Amy installed the expander as his first piece of equipment. She was friendly, thorough and kind. He has a lip bumper and head gear now and we can definitely see the change in his mouth. I can't wait to see the final result!

My 9-year-old son just completed his Phase 1 with Bucks County Orthodontics. Before we chose this practice, we had consults with two other local and highly recommended orthodontists. After meeting Dr. Welsh, we immediately knew that BCO was the place for us! Believe it or not, Dr. Welsh was the only Dr. we met with who actually addressed my son at the consult and talked to HIM about the whole process. We loved that Dr. Welsh's plan was flexible as well. For example, one of the other consults we had said that my son would need to wear head gear right off the bat and for at least 18 months. Dr. Welsh did let us know that head gear was a possibility, but his approach was do one thing at a time and see how my son responded. In the end, he never even needed the head gear! Dr. Welsh recommended the minimum to start and then added things only when needed! This consisted of an expander, a lip bumper and then braces which got added a few months ago as the final piece. What really won me over was when we thought my son was having an orthodontic issue over a weekend last February. Dr. Welsh actually came into the office on a Sunday!!! to see him to make sure that there wasn't anything going on with his expander. That blew me away! Dr. Welsh and his staff are so professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. It is very obvious that they truly care about each patient! We had the best experience dealing with this practice over the past year and would highly recommend them to anyone needing any orthodontic work! Thank you, Bucks County Orthodontics!!!

Dr Welsh & his team at BCO are the best! They instantly put us at ease from the first consultation. Dr Welsh explains everything clearly but also asks us what we want to know & our concerns and that matters! I knew I'd made the right choice for my daughters orthodontic care. They are masters at what they do as well as being human, friendly & fun! The front desk team are all so lovely & accommodating when scheduling appointments to fit our busy lives. I can't wait to see my daughters amazing new smile. Thank you BCO

All-around positive experience with BCO. Dr. Welsh and the entire team are professional, trustworthy and so patient in dealing with kids! They explained the process so clearly and took the time to actually show the X-rays and explain the process and recommendations. Also a huge necessity for our family is convenient hours and location. They have availability for after school/work appointments. Highly recommend!
