Drs Buchart and Wachs did my adult braces and my daughters braces. We had a great experience! As a dentist I am absolutely more particular than anyone and this office is fantastic!!!! And they truly experts in both adult and childhood treatment! Cannot recommend highly enough!!!!

I previously posted a review that has disappeared, my experience was so unkind and frustrating that I'm posting it again. I had used Buchart for my personal braces and had a great experience, enjoyed the staff and the clinicians, I literally never had an issue. I brought my nephew for braces and was shocked when office manager came to lobby to let me know Medicaid was going to pay especially since Dr Buchart's feedback was that your teeth had to be so bad that a kid would get out of college before braces, nonetheless I was super excited and immediately texted my sister with the good news. Unfortunately the office manager came back out 5 min later and apologized that she had been incorrect, it was disappointing however we're all human we make mistakes. Fast forward to 2021 my husband and I were working with a family whom had tragically lost their mother, one boy was in braces, but needed back on a routine, another boy needed braces. I had several friendly conversations with receptionist detailing that due to situation they needed to actually call and speak with Delta dental as we were dealing with death benefits that had transferred to the minors. Unfortunately the day before scheduled consultation office manager left a message that the boys had no benefits, this led to hours of verification on my part which included a documented call to delta dental where LASHONDA with Delta made it clear nobody had called. It was clear that the office manager wasn't going to verify via a method differently than the automated system she was used to. I verified ins having asked as many questions as I could think to ask considering I don't do this for a living. I texted the office detailing the ins verification, the appt was first thing the next morning, this is where things went from bad to worse. We go back for consult and I'm detailing to the tech what I'd gone thru with insurance and she says to me "that's not entirely true" are u kidding me, who are u? I'd never spoke to this chic before she was clearly going off the inner office water cooler gossip which clued me in that we needed to leave ASAP. I called the office manager that afternoon expecting an apology, or even a thank u for my efforts, nope, she says to me for the sake of the boys she's willing to put it behind her if I am? Are u kidding me!!! This isn't a kidney transplant it's cosmetic, so no, I'm not willing to commit the next two years with this office manager and her extremely unprofessional demeanor. As if all this wasn't shocking enough she chooses this moment to inform me that her office needed to deal with the boys legal guardian, I said wow that's interesting especially since my nephew has been coming here for months and u have never inquired about his legal guardian. Guardian was never an issue, but it was certainly the nail in the coffin which is sad because Buchart is amazing, I hope he reads these reviews as I made not only attempts to bring him business but to allow wrongs to be made right. We are now with another group, the boys are doing great.

Edit: I originally left a 1-star review (part of it remains below). However, I understand they have been actively working on improvement and have noticed greater effort in communication and making my experience more comfortable since my original review, which I appreciate. I will continue to update my review throughout my treatment. I began my treatment at Buchart and Wachs at the beginning of December 2020. I am doing Invisalign treatment with a Carriere appliance (used to fix an overbite). I've paid half of my treatment costs thus far (have been paying extra in advance) and am extremely disappointed in my experience. I honestly have not had a single appointment here that I left feeling satisfied. TLDR; Overall, I am unhappy with the lack of consistency, lack of communication, and lack of professionalism for a treatment that costs over 5k. Red flag: machines are not consistently cleaned before and after use at consultation as the one they used for me was coated in someone else's earwax before I noticed it and they cleaned it. It is simply unacceptable.

Shaylin took great care of me while getting my braces today! She was very sweet and Dr. Wachs was very caring as well. Highly recommend Buchart & Wachs for treatment!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience with Buchart Orthodontics. The quality of care provided was excellent. It was easy to get an appointment and we never had to wait to be seen.

Me & my mom was very thrilled with our experience so far with "Buchart Orthodontics"!!! They have been so nice to work with so far.. They Were very flexible with your schedual, payments, etc. I havent gotten my braces yet, but i get them in 12 short days, safe to say im excited and nervous.. Looking forward to this crazy adventure with "Buchart Orthodontics"!!

I just got braces last week and so far everyone has been very friendly and helpful. Especially, Ali, who had to deal with my difficult teeth and struggle through the initial adjustment stage with me!

The office staff is friendly, and Dr Buchart is very personable and professional. My son is never anxious about his appt. Wait time is minimal. The staff is always willing to work around our schedule. We have been very happy with our experience

I have attended Dr. Buchart's for a year in half now. I love it! Dr. Buchart is Awesome he knows what he is doing and he will give you the smile of a lifetime. Even the assistant's that he has to work on your teeth are wonderful. My favorites are Brittany and Cindi. they make my day every time I come and they are very easy on my teeth and gentle with me. I recommend either of the two if you do decide to choose Dr. Buchart. Also if anytime you want to call them they also have one of the best receptionist her name is Crystal. They're very flexible as far as payment and appointment wise and the two offices that they have beautiful up to date remodeling. So take it from me if you need to get your teeth worked on "Buchart Orthodontists" is the best in Lexington.

The doctor is great and knows exactly what he is doing. My only problem is that he has so many patients to attend to and often rushes through visits with you, sometimes this results in poor communication and unanswered questions. If you trust the doctor and you don't need to be closely involved in the treatment plan, he is perfect for you. However, as an adult, I am particular. For instance, the doctor assured me he could treat me with invisalign, but NEVER mentioned that I would have to wear 13 attachments on my teeth. I did not find out until my fifth tray when the assistants just started putting things on my teeth. Had I known that, I may have chosen not to get invisalign. This is just one example of many throughout my treatment plan, where the doctor did not effectively communicate something, and I showed up to the appointment surprised. Overall though, the doctor definitely knows his stuff, he just isn't the best communicator. So if kids are receiving treatment, he's perfect. Adults, not so much.
