Hidden fees that are charged on top of a routine cleaning that should be covered 100% by insurance. Appointments are constantly cancelled by front desk despite being made months in advance, to be told that the next available appointment is 6-9 months in advance. This place is a wreck

1 hour before my appointment was called and asked to come 20 minutes later than scheduled appointment time, hygienist stuck in traffic. Got there on time and had to wait 15 minutes. New hygienist for me never introduced herself, i have no idea who cleaned my teeth. Checking out I was charged $15.00 for PPE... there was nothing different now from before COVID... rip off

I went here for a temporary root canal filling. They did not mention when I gave them my insurance information that I was out of network. At the gung-ho recommendation of the doctor, I wound up getting a cleaning, a temp filling for the root canal, and two cavities filled over two separate appointments, all of which was out of network. When I spoke to them about it after the fact, their response was "it's not our responsibility to tell you." Which technically is true, but that was a deliberate withholding of information. I also had a scheduling issue where I scheduled myself for a cleaning, an exam and a cavity filling. They did not schedule me for a cleaning or exam, so the dentist wound up doing the exam, cleaning and filling. Which brings me to my next issue. After finding out I was out of network, I had to go to another dentist (in network) for another issue, where this dentist found the filling that was done by Bryn Mawr Dental was not filled properly, and exposed cavity was showing. This dentist unfilled and refilled this problematic tooth, though I was unaware that this was the problem tooth at the time. This new dentist also showed me two cavities that are visible to the naked eye on 2 of my front teeth that Dr. Richardson at Bryn Mawr Dental missed. Upon calling Bryn Mawr about these two glaring issues and receiving about 6 calls back and forth from them throughout my work day, they told me they would take the remaining payment of the filling off my bill, leaving with a remainder of appx $120. When asked what they were going to do about the two missed cavities, they told me that I had only received a "limited oral exam" at my "cleaning and exam" appointment (which had been misscheduled). This was the first I was hearing of receiving a limited exam. However, upon further inquiry, I found out that they billed me for a comprehensive exam, a service I never received, making this now a fraud situation. They either said it was a limited exam to justify their lack of observation of two blatant cavities to cover themselves, or they did do a limited exam and billed me fraudulently. Regardless, there was some serious dishonesty and lack of good business practices happening with this transaction. After telling them that I would proceed with this case as a fraud one, they changed their tune and then told me that they would reimburse me for the comprehensive exam and would only have $20 left on the bill since this was a "billing error." Had I not been proactive and decided to fight the entire issue of bad care and a bad experience, I would have been billed and paid money for services I never received. In between my first experience and finding out this was a fraud situation, I tried to call about billing as they said they could only bill my primary insurance (not true, they can bill secondary too). Said they would bill, they did not bill. Twice I told them to and they said they would but did not. It took weeks to finally get in touch with someone and attempt to amend the situation. I was to pay over $300 for dental work I never intended on getting in the first place. Then I found out about the fraud after already having paid over $150 in co-pays for the work. I have never experienced such dishonesty or incompetency from both a clinical and administrative standpoint from any professional health care company. I work in health care and deal with billing every single day and have never seen anything like this. This company has left a horrible impression on me and I will never return, nor will I ever recommend them to anyone. My whole experience was poor from start to finish.

When attempting to set up an appointment I was told by the receptionist that I would be required to pay out of pocket for any work done there as I am not the primary holder of my family's dental insurance plan. When I informed her that I was fully covered under the plan even if I was not the primary holder and that I had already confirmed with the insurance group that I would be able to be covered at the Bryn Mawr Dental Group practice, the receptionist was extremely condescending, insisted that this was not how my insurance plan worked (even though she never even bothered to look up the details of the plan) and then had the nerve to ask whether I still wanted to schedule an appointment with the office. Based on this interaction alone, I will NEVER visit the practice myself, and I certainly won't be recommending it to anyone else.

Dr. Ling is not only a fantastic dentist, she's also personable and accommodating. On many occasions, she's taken late appointments which is very much appreciated so that I may get to appointments after work hours. She has great bedside manner and is polite, caring and checks in during exams to make sure I'm ok. I feel like she truly does listens to the concerns of her patients. Dr. Ling is an asset to this practice and I would recommend her to any of my friends and family.

Dr. Mesina is an excellent dentist. She listens well and explains clearly. I have been a patient for over 10 years and am extremely happy with their services. The hygienists are pleasant and very thorough.

I have always had a wonderful experience when going to this office. The front desk staff makes for seamless check-in and check-out process. I moved away from the area and returned to this office upon coming back to Philadelphia. They use extremely high tech equipment which always makes for an efficient appointment. The office is very clean and all staff members are friendly. Thanks for always making my experience a great one!

I would recommend Bryn Mawr Dental Health Group to anyone. The front desk ladies are very knowledgeable about insurance issues and create a very calming environment. The doctors are very professional and caring. They take the time to explain everything they are doing. They have proven to me that dentistry is truly a pain free experience.

Have been going to this practice for years! And even though they don't take my insurance any more I still go! Service is excellent and the doctors and dental staff are kind and thorough. I have never been disappointed in any procedure performed by Dr. Ling. The rest of my family also goes here and my mother even planning on returning to get her crown redone after not being satisfied in another dentist's work.
