Paul K. Bookman, DMD has built a reputation among his colleagues and patients for his clinical ability, his attention to detail, and above all, his genuinely warm demeanor. A graduate of Tulane University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, he has been practicing in Bryn Mawr since 1987. His passion for the art and science of dentistry and for the way it can be used to enhance his patients lives is what keeps him committed to staying at the forefront of professional developments.
The enthusiasm he has for the profession continues to grow. Away from the office, Dr. Bookman enjoys skiing, SCUBA diving, bicycling and spending time with his two grown children, Mark and Rachel. Mark, a graduate of Villanova University, is a Fulbright Scholar and is currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Pennsylvania. Rachel is a student at the University of Miami focusing on Marine Science and Marine Microbiology. Dr. Bookmans memberships include: American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, Chester/Delaware County Dental Association, Academy of Stomatology, Main Line Dental Society (past president), and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.

Michael B. Pavel, DMD has been practicing dentistry in Pennsylvania since 1986 and in that time he has come to be recognized as a skilled clinician with a warm, inviting chairside manner. He devotes a good portion each year to upgrading his skills through continuing education, and he has extensive experience in all facets of general dentistry, including implants and veneers. Born and raised on the Main Line, Dr. Pavel attended Penn State University and Temple University School of Dentistry.
When he's not working or studying, he enjoys golf, traveling and restaurant dining. His wife Dori, an accomplished cellist, received her Masters in Art History from the University of Pennsylvania and holds the position of Director of Conferences & Events at Penn Law School. Dr. Pavel has two children. Alexandra graduated from Cornell and received her Masters from The London School of Economics. She now works as a Financial Analyst and lives in London. His son, E. Maxwell graduated from University of Pittsburgh and is pursuing a career in film & acting in LA.

Sanjay K. Kataria, DMD is focused on providing the best possible care to his patients. Dr. Kataria attended the University of Michigan where he received his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and completed his dental school training at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. After graduating dental school, he completed a two year General Practice Residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia, where he served as chief resident the latter year. He has experience in multiple dental specialties and has extensive training in managing and treating dental emergencies as well as complex cases. Dr. Kataria continues to stay informed of the most recent innovations in dentistry through attending continuing education courses. He is a member of the American Dental Association and Delaware Valley Academy of Osseointegration.
Originally from the Philadelphia suburbs, Dr. Kataria was born and raised in West Chester, PA. He has a variety of hobbies and interests, including playing tennis, long distance running, trying new restaurants, traveling, and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles.

I have been going to BMD for over twenty years. They're a thoughtful, respectful, and caring practice. Dr. Bookman is the Michelangelo of building a tooth (in some cases two). They understand the experience and difficulty of people with disabilities and create a welcoming environment to best suite their needs.

Always a good experience here. Barb, the hygienist is gentle but thorough. Dr. Kataria explains everything clearly. The only catch is that they are out of network for my insurance.

Dr. Pavel and the team at Bryn Mawr Dental Associates have been giving me great care for many years. They are true professionals. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is due to the limited insurance they accept and my need to utilize their services on an out-of-network basis. That said, the fact that I'm willing to use them outside the network is a pretty good indication of how highly I regard them.

Bryn Mawr Dental Associates is fantastic. Paul Bookman is an absolute artist with crowns both in terms of fit and color match. It is worth traveling from the Lehigh Valley for his skill and sensitivity to a patient's fear of pain. And the staff is great. Can't recommend them highly enough.

I love this practice. Birdey is my hygenist and I love her. I am rhe worst at flossing. She told me to put it in the shower and guess what, I flossed this today :)

I've been using Bryn Mawr Dental Associates for roughly 18 years. At one point left to go to a dental group that was covered by my insurance and immediately returned to Bryn Mawr as I felt so much better cared for, respected, relaxed and comfortable.

Terrible experience...beware. Dr Kataria did my 2 teeth filling on Mar 18th. I had no problems with my teeth prior to filling being done. The cavities had developed and needed to be refilled. Ever since the filling got done, both of my teeth became highly sensitive. I am just not able to eat from that side. They asked me to come back for a follow up appt and just asked me to wait for a few more weeks for the sensitivity to go away. It has been 4 mos and my teeth have deteriorated. I am in pain since 4 months and they don't seem to care. As a solution they gave me a lousy anti cavity toothpaste which is of no help. When I call them they take weeks to respond. Basically I feel left hanging and dry at this point. I asked for a refund so that I could go to a different dentist to get this fixed and they refused for that as well. At this point, my faith in them is reduced to 0 and beware of these 5 star ratings as well. They don't seem to be true.
