Dr. Andrew Lieberman has been part of the local dental community since 1998, when he was still a student at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Originally from New York, Dr. Lieberman migrated to the Philadelphia area for his dental education, and has been here ever since. Upon graduation in 2000, he entered a hospital based dental residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in downtown Baltimore. While on hospital staff in this urban setting, Dr. Lieberman honed his skills related to the dental management of emergency and trauma patients, medically complex patients, as well as treating the routine dental needs of the underserved Baltimore population.
Returning to this area upon completion of his residency, Dr. Lieberman has been practicing family and cosmetic dentistry since 2001. A member of the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, Delaware, Chester and Montgomery County Dental Societies, Dr. Lieberman is continually advancing his knowledge and skills through continuing education seminars and hands-on training in order to provide the best dental care available.
Recently, Dr. Lieberman has embarked on the pursuit of a new area of expertise, obstructive sleep apnea, and the dentists critical role in managing this prevalent and hugely debilitating illness. He is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and is actively increasing his education and knowledge base, providing oral appliance therapy as an effective alternative to less desirable treatment methods. He is the owner of Main Line Snoring Solutions, the premier dental sleep apnea treatment center in the area.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a condition in which breathing is interrupted involuntarily during your sleep period. It can range from mild (occurring only a few times per hour) to severe (stoppage of breathing of 30 times or even more per hour each night)! These episodes of interrupted breathing cause decreased oxygen supply to the brain and other parts of the body, which can have serious, even life-threatening consequences. Stroke, high blood pressure, heart attacks, sexual dysfunction, motor vehicle and industrial accidents are only a few of the conditions associated with OSA. Anyone can suffer from sleep apnea, regardless of age, gender or ethnicity.
Anyone at any age can have obstructive sleep apnea, but it is more common in middle-aged and older adults. It is also more common in men than women. It is estimated that over 50 million adults in the United States suffer from OSA, and reportedly obstructive sleep apnea may affect over 5% of young adults under the age of 30 in our country. What is truly frightening is that as many as 90% of people who have obstructive sleep apnea dont know they have it.
The most commonly prescribed treatment option for OSA is sleeping with a CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machine and mask. CPAP delivers a steady stream of air into your lungs. Although its very effective, many patients complain that CPAP is loud, difficult to use and uncomfortable. Non-compliance (not using the device) may be as high as 70%.
An alternative to CPAP is a custom-made oral appliance, which has been shown to be very effective in treating obstructive sleep apnea, and perhaps as importantly, has a much higher acceptance and compliance rate with patients. Dr. Lieberman has advanced training and qualification from the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and is fully staffed to work with you and your medical doctor to comfortably manage your condition.

My father and I have been seeing Dr. Lieberman for the past 10+ years. He and his staff are exceptional and always put the patient first. It's always easy to go see him knowing I'm in the best hands and no pain is coming my way. Highly recommend him and his team.

I am generally not a huge fan of going to the dentist, but I've been going to Bryn Mawr Dental Arts for several years and am very pleased with the service and attentiveness. The whole staff is very welcoming and helps me feel comfortable. Dr. Lieberman has recently taken over the practice and has really made an effort to get to know me during my appointments. He has even performed my last few cleanings!

I have been a patient of Dr. Andrew Lieberman for over 15 years, and I had to follow him to his new home in Bryn Mawr! I have had a difficult dental history, and Dr. Lieberman has always taken the time to review the options and build the right plan for me. Most recently, I lost a tooth due to a painful infection, and Dr. Lieberman guided me through a bone graft and finally a wonderful implant on a front tooth. He made a very challenging and painful situation wonderful, and I'm so happy with my new smile! The staff at Bryn Mawr has been pleasant and helpful, especially with submitting insurance claims for me. Thanks Bryn Mawr Dental!

I first started seeing Dr. Lieberman almost 15 years ago at Rose Tree Dental. He has always taken his time and made my experience enjoyable. I had veneers done by Dr. Lieberman a few years ago and they are beautiful! When Dr. Lieberman left Rose Tree Dental to open his own practice, there was zero question in my mind I would follow him. I have been extremely impressed with the transition. Patti and the dental assistants are a pleasure to deal with and very accommodating. I had a filling crack a few weeks ago and they fit me in right away. I would highly recommend Dr. Lieberman to anyone looking for a caring and conscientious dentist!

I've been going here for a few years now and it's been wonderful! Dr. Gershberg has been great! With him retiring, it was a smooth transition with Dr. Lieberman. I met him at my last appointment and he was excellent! He seems very down to earth and knows his stuff . The entire staff is amazing!

This is a great dentist! Everyone is friendly and professional and accommodating. I've been going here for a number of years, so I was sad to see Dr. Gershberg retire, but I saw Dr. Lieberman at my last appointment and he was excellent and very helpful with my teeth sensitivity issue. And Patti, of course, was wonderful as always. So the transition has been seamless! Highly recommended.

My experience with Byrn Mawr Dental Arts has been an extremely positive experience. As a younger adult (< 35 years old) to be diagnosed with sleep apnea, I was truly concerned about how this would effect my long-term health and the possibility to be using a CPAP machine for the remainder of my life. After completing my sleep study and being referred to Byrn Mawr Dental Arts, my concerns were immediately mitigated by Dr. Gershberg and his amazing team (shout-out to Demetrius and Patti)! They were able to identify an alternative solution by recommending an oral device that is easy to use, significantly less intrusive than a CPAP machine, and when synced with other basic remedies (e.g., sleep only your side, Breathe Right nose strips, more exercise), has completely mitigated my previous sleep apnea issues. I now wake up feeling refreshed, my wife has commented how I no longer snore, and multiple sleep study tests after being fitted for the oral device has confirmed those successes. The team was extremely flexible to my schedule, shifting appointments when I had work/personal conflicts, and with every appointment took the time to answer my questions, I never felt I was being rushed so they could get to the next patient. Byrn Mawr Dental Arts has significantly benefitted my life, I cannot thank them enough for what they've done for me and my family regarding my long-term health. Thank you!
