As a General Dentist for over 38 years (a University of MN graduate), Dr. Bruce Merry has won thousands of patients over with his gentle and conservative approach. If its been a while since youve stepped inside a dental office, dont worry, there wont be a lecture. If youre needle-phobic, youve come to the right place. He defines his approach to dentistry as commonsense solutions to restoring teeth that are appropriate to the patients circumstance.
Dr. Lau's interest in oral healthcare began during her undergraduate years in her beloved hometown of Winnipeg, Canada. Following her graduation from the University of Minnesota Dental School (go Gophers!), she completed a General Practice Residency at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, before returning back to Minnesota to join private practice.
Dr. Lau strongly values supporting patients individual oral healthcare goals and finds joy in getting to know her patients and their families. She often launches her day with a daily quote for the staff. Throughout the office, she is often heard humming her favorite tunes during the day (no ear plugs required).
Outside the office, Dr. Lau enjoys spending time with family, golfing, biking and hiking. Her dog, Arnie, is named after the famous golfer, Arnold Palmer. Another fun fact, Dr. Lau plays electric guitar in a rock band, and cheers for anything Minnesota!
Jill wears many hats in our office. She has worked alongside Dr. Merry for over 20 years, and she could pretty much fill in for either doctor at any time (but since thats not legal with her credentials, shes happy to be their extra set of hands). When shes not assisting, shes our Radiation Safety Officer, Inventory Captain and affectionately, aka, the Sterilization Tyrant.
Outside the office, Jill values spending time with her family and friends. She keeps up with the rock music scene and participates in a volleyball league all year long. Her favorite movie is National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.
Meg joined our team in November, 2016, and couldn't be happier about it. When she isn't assisting the doctors with dental procedures, you can find her up front where she helps Meredith with administrative tasks, and makes sure lab cases are coming and going on time.
She and her husband moved to MN from the east coast to pursue careers in theater. Now 20 years later she assists the doctors by day and runs a small theater company by night. She's also a busy mom of two little girls. In her copious free time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and sleeping.
Robin joined the office in August, 2020. She graduated from Mankato State University and has been a hygienist for more years than shed like to admit. Dentistry runs in her blood as her father and grandfather were both dentists.
Kelly married her high school sweetheart and is now a busy mom of two preteens, Ava and Will, and her black lab, Duchess! She keeps herself busy carpooling kids to and from dance, hockey, swimming, church, and visiting with friends. In her free time, she enjoys working out, reading, golfing, playing paddle tennis, spending time with friends, traveling, and time at the family cabin in Crosslake.
Amy, who hails from Wisconsin, has been with us since 2017. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, School of Dental Hygiene. Amy takes pride in her work and will call upon her own personal dental experiences when calming her patients' fears or answering questions.
When she's not at work, Amy can be found practicing soccer and football skills with her son, watching movies, and daydreaming with her husband about their next travel adventures, especially to Mexico and the UK. Other favorites for Amy include tent camping, puzzles, naps, snuggling with her pup and cheering for the Packers.
On the weekends, Mer and her husband enjoy spending time with their families. With only 24 hour notice (through the gift of adoption) they welcomed a baby boy in November, 2021. When shes not smothering her baby, shes learning to appreciate the finer things in life, like a good nights sleep and drinking a cup of coffee while its still hot!

We've been seeing Dr.Merry and Dr.Lau for almost 13 years now. We have always had such a pleasant experience. The office staff is great- try getting 3 kids appointments at the same time... they make it work... Every 6 months!

As a dental hygienist I can say without a doubt that this is a great dental office. Dr. Merry and his staff are well trained and professional. Expect warm greetings, friendly conversation and a relaxing atmosphere.

DR. LAU is the best. She is so friendly, truly interested in you and always makes you feel good (my teeth historically, have been problematic). Did I mention she is a FABULOUS dentist?! Could not ask for a better dentist. BRUCE MERRY'S OFFICE is a wonderful place to be a patient. From the reception you receive at the front desk, the cleanings or any other dental work you need... I would highly recommend their dentistry to anyone.

After several traumatic and terrifying dental experiences in my childhood I have avoided the dentist at all costs...for 9 YEARS! I was convinced the only way I would be able to withstand any dental work was to use IV sedation. I had an appointment with a sedation dentist in Eden Prairie that was suggesting $18,000 for an outrageous amount of dental work. That's right...$18,000. I called to inquire about a second opinion/consultation; prefacing that I would not be a patient as I was certain my anxiety would necessitate sedation. Dr. Merry was very helpful, told me what he would suggest and how he would approach my care plan, but at no point did he suggest he be my dentist. His caring, comforting and confident (but not cocky) demeanor left me seriously considering to forget about IV sedation. He only suggested what was necessary, no extra frills, went through my x-rays, and went through the top priority teeth. Dr. Merry suggested that we try a small tooth first, see how I respond and decide if I would feel more comfortable with sedation at that point. I had my first visit with Dr. Bruce Merry today. Dr. Merry and Jill were the best of the best in the chair. The procedure was only 20 minutes, virtually painless as they prepared me with necessary medicine and numbing agents. Seriously, for those of you who are in my boat...terrified, to the point of tears when you even think about the dentist, Dr. Merry is for you! I cannot express enough how thankful and grateful I am for getting in to talk with him about my dental needs! Believe it or not I am kind of excited to get the rest of my dental work done...for FAR LESS than $18,000 with Dr. Merry!

I've been a patient of Dr. Merry's for ages. Everyone on his staff is so caring and always concerned, especially with a patient that thinks going to a dentist is like a fate worse than death. They do everything to make sure it's a stress-free experience. Highly recommend Drs. Merry!!

Dr Bruce has been my dentist for (OMG) over 25 years! Dr Graham is a great addition as well & is just as gentle as his dad is. Chris has been my hygenist for years & seeing her twice a year is like seeing an old friend ... we pick up where we left off each time I visit. I have never been overcharged or told to do unnecessary procedures. They are honest & forthright. Plus the pooch is a fun touch too!
