Bruce Orthodontics is a Rhinelander, Minocqua/Woodruff, Eagle River, Phillips, Marshfield, WI based family orthodontic practice that treats patients of all ages. We are committed to delivering the highest quality orthodontic care using the most advanced orthodontic technology including digital x-rays, SureSmile, and intraoral scanning.
Dr. Joshua Bruce is a board-certified orthodontist and a member of the American Orthodontics Association and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. He is a highly skilled orthodontist with advanced dental training. He possesses the highest qualifications and is extremely well skilled in all phases of orthodontic treatment, and strives for excellence to ensure you will receive the best care possible.
He earned his DDS in 2010 from the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated salutatorian of his class. In 2011, he spent an additional year completing advanced dental training at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry Advanced Education in General Dentistry. He went on to orthodontic residency where he earned his Masters in Orthodontics at Saint Louis University Center for Advanced Dental Education Orthodontics and graduated in 2013. After completing my orthodontic residency, Dr. Bruce worked as an associate orthodontist in New Mexico and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics in March 2015.
Throughout his academic career, Dr. Bruce has won many academic honors and awards, including the Outstanding Student Leadership Award in the College of Dentistry; the Shillingburg-Brasseler Award for Excellence in Restorative Dentistry; the International College of Dentist Student Leadership Award; and the Pierre Fauchard Academy Dental Student Scholarship Award for outstanding leadership, integrity, initiative, imagination and communication skills.
Dr. Bruce was born and raised in Wichita, KS and is the third oldest of twelve children. In his spare time, Dr. Bruce loves cooking, acting, artwork (such as sculpture and woodworking), photography, writing, and gardening. He also loves hiking and exploring the outdoors. He strives to stay active in the Northwoods community and looks forward to being involved in all the local areas that he serves.

We try to make braces fun by giving rewards for everything from having good hygiene and not breaking brackets to sharing pictures on social media and wearing rubber bands. We provide patterns of colored ties for all the kids and tell lots of funny jokes. Our office is always full of smiles!
There is no other place where you will find a team that truly cares about you, and where the emphasis is on building a personal relationship based on trust. We want you to feel safe and comfortable, with no judgmental attitudes, and establish goals together to provide the care you need.
I help Dr. Bruce with every unique case, and assist with removing and placing wires, taking impressions, and pouring models. I also help as a lab tech and take turns answering the phones, or scanning files into the computer.

Horrible service from orthodontist, very rude and no bedside manner. I have three kids with braces from here and numerous brackets break off shortly after appointment and two of my three kids that have retainers they never fit correctly, and when they went back for future appointment they got chewed out and said he wants pictures of them not fitting correctly next time..even tho I called immediately after getting retainers in mail to say they don't fit on their teeth. and then when we brought them back to get fixed he was very rough working in their mouth and rude to my children because of a problem here did wrong.. needless to say along with us, my Dentist in Ashland was completely disgusted with this Orthodontist place... and when you get your braces off you better hope you don't have future problems because they are very impatient with you. so upsetting when we drive 2 hrs one way and that they have no respect of others time or money.

I came to Dr. Bruce with a concern. Dr. Bruce did an excellent job first explaining and then showing me the 3D projection of my treatment plan. Dr. Bruce calmed my fears!

My daughter lost her retainer and they were so accommodating and quick to get her in before vacation. Ashley is always very quick, curious and friendly to my daughter. She makes her feel comfortable while in the office.

I would give 10 stars if I could! The staff was great, kind, helpful, and fun. As an adult who never had ortho as a child, I wasn't sure what to expect but Dr Bruce gave me a gorgeous smile! When you combine exceptional care with quality staff, the results are outstanding!
