Dr. Cormac MacDermott is a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (Board Certified) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He graduated from the Columbia College of Dental Medicine and did his residency in Pediatric Dentistry at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
Dr. Cormac is comfortable and confident with children of all ages, personality types and medical conditions. He has an easy-going, gentle nature and sense of humor that, combined with a high level of skill and expertise, make dental visits not only educational but also enjoyable.
He is committed to childrens health both locally and globally. For the last several years he has provided free dental care to under-privileged children and their families through Give Kids a Smile, and has traveled extensively as a volunteer and advocate for childrens health.
Dr. Lisa Van Eyndhoven received her DDS from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. She completed her pediatric dental residency at Columbia University/New York Presbyterian Hospital. She is a Diplomat if the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (Board Certified). She is currently teaching pediatric dentistry in the residency program at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx.
'Dr. Lisa' was born and primarily raised in New York City, but traveled the world at a young age with her diplomatic parents who are Belgian. She speaks four languages and has spent time in Sudan, Trinidad and Tobago, Ethiopia, Gabon, and Thailand including her annual visits to her family in Belgium. She has also performed dental outreaches in Guatemala and Dominican Republic.
Along with traveling, 'Dr. Lisa' loves silly jokes and songs. She is patient and takes the time to make children and parents feel at ease in the dental environment. She lives in Chelsea with her kitten Coconut.
Dr. John C. DiMaggio graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Anthropology. He would later graduate with honors from New York University with a Master's in Human Skeletal Biology and continue to obtain his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the New York University College of Dentistry. He would participate in the NYU Global Outreach program helping underserved children and families in Kathmandu, Nepal. He would return to complete his general practice residency at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
Dr. DiMaggio continues to stay current with the latest dental innovations by being an active member of dental associations such as the Second District Dental Society and continues his pursuit of knowledge by participating in continuing education seminars while attending national meetings. He is an easy-going, upbeat, and honest individual who enjoys educating his patients on the benefits of good oral health. He values the trust and confidence his patients put in him and takes pride in treating his patients as if they were part of the family.
Originally a Chicago native, Dr. DiMaggio enjoys good pizza and loves trying hip, new restaurants! For leisure, he also enjoys eating well, hiking in the Catskills, running, apple/pumpkin-picking, Star Wars, and board games.
Dr. Valerie Chin received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania and Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. She continued her specialty training at Columbia University completing her residency program in Orthodontics and earning a Masters of Science.
Dr. Chins own childhood experience with braces inspired her to become an orthodontist and she is excited to share her enthusiasm and knowledge with her patients. Her extensive training and experience in orthodontics include early interceptive treatment on children, complex multidisciplinary treatment on adults, and clear aligner therapy such as Invisalign on children, teens, and adults. She is committed to staying abreast of the latest techniques in orthodontics to provide her patients with the most advanced care and is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists.
When Dr. Chin is not in the office, she enjoys staying active indoors and outdoors including spin classes, skiing, and scuba diving. She is a New York City native and currently resides in Brooklyn Heights with her husband.
Dr. Lisa Lian graduated from Harvard School of Dental Medicine and completed her residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Columbia University - New York-Presbyterian Hospital. She enjoys teaching future dentists as an Assistant Professor and Director for Pediatric Dentistry at New York University College of Dentistry. She is also a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (Board Certified)
Dr. Lian strives to create an atmosphere that is both fun and nurturing for her patients. She believes in educating children and parents about oral health to establish a lifetime of confident, happy smiles. In her free time, she enjoys swing dance, playing intramural sports with friends, and exploring her neighborhood of Long Island City, NY.
Kateryna lives in Staten Island, NY. She has over 12 years of experience in the field of dentistry. She began her carrier as a dental assistant, then became Patient Care Coordinator, as Insurance and Billing specialist and now is our office Manager.
Our office is an exciting, fun place! We laugh a lot while also providing quality dental services to our patients. Our team is made up of real people who are easy talk to and are empathetic to the needs of our patients. Each person who comes in our doors is treated the same way we would treat our own family. Our patients know this, and can expect the best care with a gentle touch every time.
Marleny is a foreign dentist from the Dominican Republic. She has being working as a certified orthodontic assistant for more than 7 Years in the greater NY area. She has wide experience on all orthodontics and lab techniques. Also she is in charge of our in house Lab where we are able to fabricate same day appliances with the latest technologies. She enjoys working with children. She is always trying to make our patients to have an enjoyable experience when they are getting any dental treatment. She loves nature and the islands beaches.

Ist visit was extremely satisfying, Dr. Cloidt and her assistant made me feel 100% secure during my time in the chair. She's very competent and well informed. Excellent choice of a dentist.

I haven't gotten my bill yet so I may have to modify my review if there are any surprises but my experience with this dental office was beyond expectations. My five year old had had a truly traumatic dental experience five days before this visit at another office and Dr. Lisa made up for the experience and beyond. Every person in the office from front desk to dental assistant to Dr. was so tender and nice to us, explaining each step in detail and easy to understand. My daughter got to watch TV on the ceiling and they were so gentle with her that she barely even noticed them putting her crown back on and she walked away with a flower bracelet, a slinky, and a bounce in her step that she hadn't had for days. They had taken us in within 24 hours of when we called with a dental emergency and as a new patient and were in network for our insurance. We have found our new dentist. Well worth the 40 minute bike ride for this office.

Great practice & dentist! The office was extremely efficient and well run. Appointment started on time and the receptionist even provided me with a printout of my insurance info when I said I didn't have all the details. The hygienist was personable and professional and Doctor DiMaggio was great! He was very concerned with my level of comfort, explained everything thoroughly and was also pleasant to talk to! Highly recommend!

Hands down the best pediatric dentist our family has been to. Our children were terrified of visiting the dentist until we met Dr. McDermott and his wonderful staff. The kids now excitedly look forward to going for their bi-annual dental visit, especially for the prize at the end of their visit. We moved to Nassau County and still come to Brownstone Pediatric Dentistry because of the warmth and personal care our children receive. It is well worth the drive!

Wonderful experience from start to finish. Everyone made our anxious two year old daughter feel at ease from the kind lady on front desk to the lovely and very knowledgeable hygienist to the very friendly and pro dentist, Dr MacDermott. Even a lovely mother in the waiting room explained how her now 17 year old had been going there since he was 4, and it is obvious why. So glad to have found such a wonderful dentist for our growing girl! Highly recommend!

My daughter has been going here for about 4 years. She is never afraid or anxious about going (and she can be an anxious kid), even when she needs work done. She genuinely loves going and she is comfortable whith everyone who has worked on her teeth (from the hygienists to the dentists).

This was my twin daughters first visit to the dentist. It was great. Denise the lovely wonderful dental hygienist was just amazing. Kind patient gentle explained everything. Dr McDermott was so nice, the girls were so comfortable with him. He will be their dentist until adulthood!!! Thank you both

Cormac MacDermott at Brownstone is a fantastic pediatric dentist. He's kind and clear with the kids, eager to help them understand what he's seeing in their mouths. He's conservative with remedies -- he told us to hold off on braces for a while when it looked as though we'd need them, and ultimately the problem fixed itself. His team is similarly great. We'll go to him as long as he'll have us!

I can't say enough about Dr Macdermott and his team. My 9yo daughter has severe anxiety about the dentist. Denise, the Dental Hygienist, had her relaxed and getting her teeth cleaned within 30 minutes!! They are thorough, professional and the most caring practice I've ever been to. I can't recommend them highly enough.
