Dr. Ronnie L. Brown, a native of Lebanon, VA, is a 1969 graduate of the Medical College of Virginia. After graduation, he completed a rotating internship program at Madigan Army Medical Center in McChord, Washington. Dr. Brown went on to serve his country in the Army Dental Corp, earning the rank of Major and was stationed in Germany for 4 years before coming back to the states and beginning his private practice in January of 1974. He has a great passion for dentistry and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and is working on his Diplomate status, the Virginia Dental Association, where he served on the executive council, and a member and past president of the Southwest Virginia Dental Society. Dr. Brown has been nominated and accepted into the International College of Dentists. He is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hiking, camping, fishing and hunting in the great west every fall. Dr. Brown and his wife, Jeannie, enjoy spending time with their 6 daughters and 11 grandchildren.
Dr. Bob L. Brown, a native of Lebanon, VA, received a pharmacy degree from the Medical College of Virginia in June 1970 and a Doctor of Dental Surgery in May 1974. He spent the summer of 1974 working as a pharmacist in Nome, Alaska and returned to Abingdon to practice dentistry that fall. Dr. Brown is a member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association and the Southwest Virginia Dental Societry. Dr. Brown tried to retire in July of 2014, however, after a short period of time, he decided to come back to work. Like his brother Ronnie, he is an avid outdoorsman and spends a big part of his free time hiking in the mountains of Southwest Virginia with his four legged children, Maggie May, Robert Lee, and Gage. Dr. Brown and his wife, Donna enjoy traveling to the wild, wild, west every fall.
Dr. Christopher W. Thurston is a native of Tazewell County. He obtained a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Virginia Commonwealth University where he also received the Dr. Hugh B. Douglas, Jr. award for excellence in Prosthodontics. Dr. Thurston is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and is working on his Diplomate status, the International Academy of Sleep, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the International Dental Implant Association. Like the Brown brothers, he enjoys camping, fishing, hiking and hunting. Dr. Thurston and his wife, Virginia enjoy spending time with their four legged children, Maggie, Lilly and Belvedere.
Dr. Tyler J. Toney is a native of Forest City, NC. In 2007, he graduated from Campbell University located in Buies Creek, NC with a degree in Biology and Chemistry, receiving the faculty award for Excellence in Biology. He obtained a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2012. He started his dental career in North Carolina in 2012, and we were fortunate enough to have him join our team in January 2014. Dr. Toney is primarily at our Glade location, however, he works in the Abingdon location as needed. Dr. Toney is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association and Southwest Virginia Dental Society. He has completed numerous continuing education courses in implant and restorative dentistry. Dr. Toney enjoys spending time with his wife, Alyssa and their children.

Not only do these folks provide great dental care, they're also doing an amazing job with Covid precautions. They even installed ultraviolet filters in their HVAC system! I felt very safe there at my recent visit.

When I first started going here it was a good experience except for a couple of rude employees so after I received a couple of crowns and I have Insurance and making payments on them, they called to tell me they would not treat my infected tooth until I paid my bill in full!! I would not recommend this place to anyone. To bad I have to give 1 star they deserve a negative!!

My experience here was not good. I wish they had better technology, and the work done in my mouth by dental assistants checked by Dr. Thurston before I left the room.

Made a crown that looked like it belonged in someone else's mouth (wrong shape, color, size). Wore for couple years, then it broke off leaving not enough tooth left to replace. To fix was looking at $5000+! Thankfully was in back of my mouth and not noticeable - so now I'm left with a missing tooth!

I'm thru hiking and had a tooth that was hurting for over a month and getting worse. Also, I'm scared of the dentists' office. But doctor Thurstin was so gentle, professional, and was able to fix my tooth. No pain. I really love this office and if you're someone who is scared to get to a dentist visit, or are in pain, come here! Saved my hike! Thank you guys!

Super friendly and sweet staff. Dr Ashby done an amazing job filling, and rebuilding my front teeth. You can't even tell there was ever decay. I'm so happy to have a pretty smile again.
