In many cases, a patient may not know they need a root canal until a damaged tooth become severely painful, which constitutes a dental emergency. Cracks on teeth of various sizes can permit the entrance of bacteria into inner tooth systems, leading to infection but these cracks can be hard to spot without help from a professional and can create an emergency situation sooner than later. If you have a serious toothache, its important to seek treatment as soon as possible for prompt pain relief and prevention of additional complications.
