Dr. Sweeny explains, I enjoy continuing to visit Scottsdale to educate other dentists so they can achieve the highest level of dentistry they desire while staying abreast of the latest and greatest techniques and materials in todays ever-changing world of dentistry.
He takes great pride in being a loyal, compassionate husband, father, and dentist constantly striving for perfection both personally and professionally. Dr. Sweeny follows the WIDIOM Rule, as learned early on in his career from the great Dr. Peter Dawson. WIDOM stands for what Would I Do It On Myself (or family member) when helping patients decide what kind of dental treatment may be right for them. Hes an educator and advocate for you and your smile. Dr. Sweeny was also co-leader of a SPEAR Study Club in Florida and currently attends a local study club in Boulder. He obtained his FAGD (Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry) in 2013 as a merit to his dedication and continued learning about everything dentistry has to offer. He is currently a member of four study clubs.
As an avid, competitive soccer player, Dr. Sweeny says he learned the importance of teamwork, hard work, commitment, and helping others to increase the greater good. When hes not busy at the office, youll probably find him doing something outside. Dr. Sweeny enjoys participating in most sports such as hiking, skiing, golfing, mountain biking, exercising, and coaching his sons competitive soccer team.

Staff is friendly and helpful, and always make me feel comfortable. Dr. Sweeney is very knowledgeable and detail oriented, and I've had a good experience overall. I got Invisalign and Dr. Sweeney has spent a lot of time fine tuning it. I appreciate his perfectionism!

Dr. Sweeney's office staff and dental techs are always so welcoming and kind. They are ready to listen and help. Dr. Sweeny is an excellent dentist who is very knowledgeable and not "salesy". Going to the dentist has been a pleasure, which isn't everyone's experience growing up. This office will ease your anxieties.

Unfortunately didn't have the best experience here. Went about 3 times before I said enough is enough. Each time I went Dr. Sweeney tried pushing the invisalign braces on me for my son, even though the first time I told him I don't have the money for it. The third and final time he tried, he got upset with me when again I told him it's something I cannot afford. Another reason I stopped going here is because of the billing errors like a previous customer mentioned. I would pay what they said I owed before leaving the facility, but then a few weeks later I would get another bill and they would blame the insurance company. I have the same exact insurance policy I used here that I use at a different dentist now, and not once has this issue happened. Overall very unhappy with this place. I have reported them to the BBB for the billing issues, as I'm not the only one who has experienced this problem. If you're looking for a new dentist, I highly dont recommend Broomfield Family Dentistry or Dr. Sweeney, I would look elsewhere.

From day one I was unhappy with them for many reasons. DR Sweeny has huge hands and even just for quick oral eval, its very uncomfortable, I can't ever imagine him doing any long persuader on me. Also every time I go in, they have a new hygienist, who doesn't invest enough time or effort for thural cleaning. (I am a dental assistant myself, and I can tell the difference.) Also we always have billing errors with them, most of the time they blame it on insurance company, I will not add details. Overall I am very frustrated with the practice.

There are lots of good reviews. But this place is not a good fit for me. My experience was that they were unprofessional and glib about a mistake that they made. I didn't make a fuss. I just politely told them that I would get back to them about setting another appointment. I will not be returning to this dentist.

Dr. Sweeney was the the first dentist I see regularly so I don't really have much experience with dentist. The only thing I can say is my overall dental condition improved during the time I was seeing them even the price tag is not cheap. I was asked to replace a chipped crown they put in just around 3 years ago. It would be out of pocket since the insurance think a crown should last at least 5 years. They used the fear tactics, telling me I have to replace the crown ASAP, or I may lose my tooth. I'm close to the end of my orthodontic treatment, which will in addition cost me a rescan and remake of Invisalign. The second opinion I got is, the crack on the crown is not great, but it's not urgent and unlikely to cause me to lose my tooth if I don't replace them ASAP. I'm not a dental professional of course, I don't have credit to judged who's right, I am just telling what happened to me. I chose to wait and not spending $1000+ to fix something shouldn't be broken in 3 years. I'm not a dental professional to judge if a procedure is necessary, but I can sure read Explain Of Benefits from my insurance. I noticed I have been paying way higher then the patients responsibility part almost every visit. I asked in person and called in at least 3 times to inquire about it. Every time I was told there's no problem. Funny I have payment card transactions and EOBs in my hand and they still lie to me like that. Also, looks like I'm not the only one having this billing problem, there are other reviews complaining about their shady billing behavior. By the way, they offer free fluoride treatment for review.

I will never go to this dentist again. I was told at my cleaning that I had 3 cavities that needed filled. I was just there 6 months prior before Dr Sweeney took over the office and had zero issues with Dr Workman. I also stay on top of brushing and flossing so I refused to believe it. I later went to a different dentists about a year later and was told I have zero cavities. Can't trust this guy
