Dr. Mitchell S. Brookstone was born and raised on Long Island. Following his graduation from Baldwin High School in 1980, he left for St. Louis, Missouri, where he earned an A.B. degree in Biology from Washington University. He then returned to New York, earning a D.D.S degree in 1988 from New York University. In 1989 he completed his general practice residency at the Westchester County Medical Center. That was followed by a Fellowship in Oral Oncology at Memorial Hospital at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, N.Y.
From 1990 to 1994, Dr. Brookstone trained as an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon at St. Lukes/Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City and served as Chief Resident in his final year there. He spent seven years in private practice in New York City and eventually moved to Wantagh, New York where he currently maintains a private practice doing the full scope of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
As an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, Dr. Brookstone is fully trained in providing IV Sedation/General Anesthesia and holds a New York state permit and license to do so. He is a member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the New York State Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Nassau County Dental Society. He is certified in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. At present, he is an attending physician at the Nassau University Medical Center in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

Just called this office to make my first appointment and the lady who answered was extremely rude. Talking over me and a nasty attitude on phone. She then continued to talk to me like i'm 10 years old when taking my information as i'm a new patient. It made me not want to even visit this office. they really need to hire better front desk staff. it's very off putting.

Just can't say it enough & I will swear by Brookstone & his staff. They do an amazing job. Brookstone it's a straight shooter but he is the ONLY oral surgeon I would see & recommend! He does his job well, answered all my questions & concerns. The girls in the office are respectful & will to accommodate you by any means if they can. The nurses are amazing as well, they have compassion & assure you everything will be ok! If I could give more stars I would!! Dr. Brookstone's office is A+++ lol. Thank you guys!!

Had 2 wisdom teeth extracted yesterday, aside from the pain after the procedure I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Brookstone and his staff. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful from the front desk to the back office. I highly recommend Dr. Brookstone for anyone who is looking for a good oral surgeon.

If anyone is in need of an Oral surgeon. I completely recommend Dr. Brookstone!! Easy peasy.... Vanessa at check in is very nice.. As is the woman at check out..(didn't get her name).. I got 2 teeth pulled and the dentist was incredibly kind and looked over everything discussed everything with me. All the staff there was nice and patient I waited a month and it was so worth it. Recommend

After reading some of the good reviews, and some of the bad ones ,About this practice ,I decided to give them a chance. I was so very pleased with the staff, all very nice and helpful. Dr Brookstone was very professional, and I felt very comfortable with him.He explained everything to me, the tooth extraction went smoothly. I highly recommend Dr. Brookstone and his staff. Looking forward to getting the implants done, need to wait 4 months.

I would never go back here again. I wont lie the work done to my mouth was good, however his staff lied to me about putting in a prescription for me. so when I would call and say my pharmacy never received it they would get annoyed at me even though they lied about it. Then when I spoke to Dr. Brookstone about it he said I was the liar, and then he went on to make up fake information that was never actually given to him. I cant say he's bad at dental work but I would never trust him and id rather trust my doctor then not even if he is the best. ( very unprofessional!!! )

Worst experience of my life. The most condesending person I've ever met. Give a 3 year old an ice pick and a benadryl and let them at your mouth before you go see this man. Rude, awful, office disgusting. Literally yelled at me about payment before even explaining the procedure. Nice attitude. Skip it. There are plenty of other choices out there, which he pointed out to me when I questioned his manner.

Where to begin- First with obtaining an appointed for a Saturday for a wisdom tooth extraction that was in dire need of removal. I contacted them And was greeted by Vanessa who was very helpful in getting me the appt so fast and fitting me into the schedule. She quoted me a price and she was exactly on point w what it cost in the end , it was actually slightly less. I was a little uneasy after reading the reviews ,but I put it all aside because it was not directly related to the DR. I've never had a tooth pulled before so I was a tad nervous. Upon arrival I was greeted by the intake person which was A smooth transaction. I waited seconds before I was called in to do X-rays. I was greeted by Doria and what a pleasant experience it was. She made me feel very comfortable and safe as she was cleaning and disinfecting all the areas which made me feel at ease with all that is happening. Lastly, the best was Dr. Brookstone, he is magical. Once he entered the room I felt I was in good hands and I was correct, he immediately told me my tooth had been infected for months, something my dentist missed telling me. I didn't feel a thing when he extracted the tooth and I had no pain after either and the whole process took less than 5 minutes from when I met him. AMAZING!! He is truly talented and skilled. I highly highly recommend him!

Aside from his staff I have to say Dr. Brookstone is excellent. I've been using him for years and yes the staff is very blunt but you can't take away from what he does. He's a master of his trade. That's why it's so hard to get an appointment but I think he is worth the wait but first getting by the shortness of his staff. He could do better then what he has but they aren't who I'm there for.

My family has used Dr. Brookstone over the years and we have always been very happy, but he and his staff went out of their way to help my elderly father with an emergency appointment today. They were extremely compassionate, caring, and professional. They were on time, patient, gentle and understanding to his needs with complicated health issues. We had complete confidence with the doctor and his entire staff. Vanessa and Jaime were wonderful. . I would recommend this practice to anyone who needs an oral surgeon.

These guys and gals are the best! We're seeing another covid spike and I put off getting tooth extraction for weeks and weeks because of it. The pain became too unbearable and they fit me in right away. They followed all CDC protocols regarding covid and were kind, understanding and as always professional!
