Dr. Robert Kowal, born and raised in Michigan, earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit in 2004. Every year he works hard to advance his training and refine his skills by attending dental courses around the country. This comittment to keeping current with the latest advancements allows Dr. Kowal to tailor the best available treatment to your specific concerns.
In addition to his passion for dentistry, he thoroughly enjoys outdoor activities, from hiking and fishing, to scuba diving and aviation. He loves spending time with his wife and young daughter, and together as a family, discovering everything the Northwest has to offer.
Dr. Kowals philosophy is to treat each patient like a member of his own family. He prides himself on delivering personalized care with kindness and empathy, and will focus on you as a person, not just your teeth. Dr. Kowal would love to meet with you if you are in the Portland area, from Gresham to Clackamas!
Debbie Administrative Assistant. Debbie helps with administrative tasks and many behind the scenes needs. She started out with Dr. Westover in 2009 as a financial coordinator and loves the associations she has developed with patients and team members over the years. She is always available to help if you have any questions or concerns. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and four children watching movies, doing outdoor activities, or playing sports.
Jenn Dental Assistant. Jenn started as a dental assistant in 1989. Brookside was lucky enough to inherit her when the original dentist retired in 2011. She loves welcoming new patients to our dental family but she especially cherishes the relationships she has with our many long time patients. When shes not at work she loves shopping, boating, traveling with her husband and watching Broncos games with family and friends.
Glenda Dental Assistant. Glenda was born in Acapulco, Mexico but was raised in California. She and her husband have 3 children and due to his 25 year military career, they moved every 3 years. Glenda graduated from California Dental School in 2000 with her dental assisting certificate and radiology license. She attended Military Dental Training in 2005. She worked most of her career in military dentistry. She added her EFDA certificate in 2016. Glenda enjoys spending time with her family, camping, hiking and board games. She has traveled to Paris and China.
Trisha Front Office Coordinator and Dental Assistant. She graduated from Mt. Hood Community College with AAS degree and Portland Community College with Dental Assisting (EFDA & EFODA) and AAS degrees. She and her husband enjoy watching their two sons play soccer. She also enjoys hiking, camping, volunteering at school and walking their black lab.

My dentist had retired and Brookside was his choice for me. People were really friendly. Don't think twice it all right. A little Bobby. Oh and nice music was playing all the time.

Friendly, gentle, nearby parking, professional. Noone likes to go to the dentist, but I would say that the demeanor of the dental technicians takes away the fear.

I was very nervous since I hadn't been to a dentist in several years. Jenny greeted me with a "big white smile" and put me at ease. Cory then further relaxed me with his obvious knowledge and skill. He was very gentle yet through as he X-rayed and cleaned my teeth. I left my appointment wondering why I had waited so long.

The staff are always friendly providing a positive & professional experience. I would recommend to all friends and family. I have been with them since they opened & can honestly say that I've never been disappointed with any procedure. They are all dialed in to what makes a business successful.

This was a good experience. The hygienist who cleaned my teeth was very gentle and thorough. He explained findings very well and answered all my questions. I was given information about what his finding and recommendations are. The staff is very friendly and the office very nice and clean. I will use that office for future dental work. Linda Stowe

I've been a patient with Brookside since 2011. I have complete confidence in my dentist, Dr Kowol. He is both quick and skillful. His staff is friendly and always ready to help. A special thanks to Jenn. She always makes sure my visits are comfortable and her cheerful demeanor makes it almost a pleasure to visit the dentist! I highly recommend Brookside Dental.
