Very rude workers. Especially the people at the front desk who answer the phone. Very sarcastic. My child's doctor also made my partner and I uncomfortable. She did not listen to our concerns. And she took away our phones like we were children during his visit. When I was being seen while pregnant they put domestic violence in my files assuming when there were no signs of violence nor did I EVER mention that. I had to confront them about that as well. And didn't even know they put that in there until I gave birth and a social worker asked me.

I have been a patient at this clinic for about 30 years and I've also worked at this clinic. Where do I even start. Well when I was younger it was a much different place. It felt like the staff truly cared about the patients. But the older I became I realized they cater more to the Spanish speaking population. Every time I call I feel like I have to argue to get basic customer service not even good. There's been a few times I would call only for staff to keep disconnecting the call or picking up and just placing you on hold without saying anything. My PCP and my therapist have been the only reason why I tolerate it but at this point I know it's time for me to look for another place that treats ALL the patients with respect. The people that answer the phones are just rude and act like they hate their job. I understand it's located in JP which has been known to be more of a Latin community but I shouldn't feel like I'm being discriminated against because I'm not.

My mother suffered a burn in one hand yesterday 30 march 2022, in 1:26 pm. I quickly called the clinic Brookside no one answered. we went to the clinic personally and they told us that they could not attend to her because my mom didn't have an appointment. they said they didn't have anything available. I said its an emergency, I asked them to call 911.they said why don't you call 911. I GOT VERY ANGRY. I called 911myself, the burn was a grade 4. my mother is very disappointed because that is where she goes for her medical issues.

They never have appointments available for the same day or the next days if your child is sick you have to go to urgent care. And when you have appointment there it's always a wait. The doctors are great but the whole organization of the clinic not to good.

I'm a nurse in primary care and I ended up calling Brookside for a friend. She's tried calling, multiple times, and nobody has returned her call to schedule new patient appointments for her and her family. She recently moved to the area and was excited to realize the services that Brookside Community Health Center offers. Unfortunately she's waited for over 2 months' and nobody has returned the call. I'm trying today and I was directed to the same voice message to leave a message and a call will be returned. I called a 3rd time to speak to someone or a manager directly and I'm on hold for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes I am told the staff, "hears the message, writes down the information but the clinic is not scheduling new patient appointments until next year. The patient will be called next year." I don't understand why patients are left waiting and a courtesy call is not being returned to tell them this. Basically, "depending what the patient says on the voice message, determines if the patient will be called or not." As an experienced nurse, in the community, I think this is poor customer service. A patient should be called regardless if the message is urgent or not and be told, as I was today, where the urgent center or where the emergency room is. My friends are new to Boston and do not speak English. Brookside is dropping the ball on accessing primary care services. We are in the middle of a pandemic and it should not be this hard for a patient to understand your health care system. Raquel Colon Guerrero, RN

I called to schedule a physical for my son since no one from the clinic likes to call back in a timely fashion. Because 2 weeks ago, I specifically left a msg to have someone call me to schedule a physical for my son. What did they do? Scheduled the appointment WITHOUT calling me or notifying me of the appointment. So I asked the rep on the phone why wasn't I called first before someone decided to book the appt on their own she couldn't even tell me how it happened. They are supposed to document whenever they speak with a patient and clearly when the appt was booked it was never documented in the chart smh. This clinic needs to do better.
