Dr. T. Michael Brooks, DMD, MS, was raised in Nashville, TN, graduating from Montgomery Bell Academy before attending and graduating from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA, with a Bachelors degree in European History. While in college, Dr. Brooks was elected President of his Senior Class, played NCAA intercollegiate baseball, and was selected for Whos Who in American Universities and Colleges. In addition, he was the Director of the Department of Country Music for the university radio station.
Dr. Brooks moved to Birmingham, AL to attend the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. During his four years of dental school, Dr. Brooks was elected Student Body President and was involved in several activities such as volunteer research work in the Biochemistry Department at UAB and the Special Smiles program for the physically-challenged.
After receiving his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 2001, Dr. Brooks decided to specialize in the field of orthodontics. He pursued a three-year post-doctoral masters degree in Orthodontics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. While in his residency, Dr. Brooks focused his masters thesis on the accuracy and acceptability of digital dental models versus plaster dental casts. His thesis was selected for publication in The Angle Orthodontist. During his third year of residency, he took and passed the written exam for American Board of Orthodontics certification. In June, 2004, Dr. Brooks completed his residency in Orthodontics.
Dr. Brooks resides in Birmingham, AL and is married to the former Leslie Denton of Birmingham, AL. They have four sons, Wyatt, Carter, Miller, and Denton. They are active members of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Dr. Brooks interests include coaching youth athletics, golf, hunting, fishing, college football, and music.

Dr. Brooks and staff were great - as an adult patient I was pretty anxious about getting braces. Dr. Brooks was the second opinion I got and after meeting with him, decided he was the orthodontist for me! They provide a relaxing and friendly environment and treat you like family from the first visit to the last. I am so happy with the results of my straight teeth and my smile shows it!

We have had all 3 of our kids go through braces with Dr. Brooks. It has been the easiest, most pleasurable experience with any Doctor we have ever experienced. Dr. Brooks and his staff are the friendliest people, and we always felt like family. I truly trusted his professional opinion and never felt like he pushed treatments unnecessarily or to early. He cares for the patients like they are his own. I could not be more happy with our experiences with him and his staff over the last 7 years or so. I highly, highly recommend him.

My daughter was so nervous about getting her braces but everyone made her feel so calm. They were welcoming and patient. Throughout the process, they were informative and kind. Thank you do making getting braces a great experience!!

I took my son today for a consultation with the intention on getting a second opinion, however we had such a wonderful experience, we plan to stick with Dr. Brooks. From the front desk receptionist, the X-ray tech, other office staff (billing/insurance admin) to the doctor, EVERY SINGLE PERSON we came in contact with was so kind, professional, knowledgeable and they made us feel very comfortable. It was a wonderful experience and I have confidence that we'll be in good hands with Dr. Brooks and his staff.

We had a wonderful experience with Brooks Orthodontics. The doctor and staff are always friendly and never mind answering all hundred of my questions. The office is clean and orderly. There is rarely a wait time. My child is always in and out. Dr. Brooks and his staff seem to genuinely care about their patients. That is what is best about Brooks Orthodontics.

Dr. Brooks has worked with my two girls for the last 10 years and we could not be more pleased. He has been conservative in his approach and patient with us as we had to make decisions related to surgery. Every step of the way he explained our options and the pros and cons to each. I felt like we had an advocate by our side each step of the way. The best part is that my girls love him as much as I do! So very thankful to have an open and honest orthodontist like Dr. Brooks in Birmingham! Would highly recommend to all!

We have used Dr. Brooks for two of our children over the past 7 years and plan on using him for our daughter, too, when she needs braces. It was a smooth and easy experience. He is professional with the parents and personable with the patients. I highly recommend this practice!
