Dr. Barry Brooks began Brooks Dental in Winthrop back in 1959. Little did he know that he had just begun a long legacy of exceptional dental care. The day his son, Dr. Howard Brooks, decided to pursue the same profession, it made complete sense to Dr. Barry, who had always noted his sons skill in working with his hands.
Upon graduating from the Boston University School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Howard joined his father at Brooks Dental in 1987 to continue the tradition of excellence in dental care. Dr. Howard Brooks applied similar principles while providing a modern approach by offering the latest advancements in dental care. The two have since worked side by side, providing high-quality cosmetic and general dental services.

Dr. Brooks was lucky to grow up with Dr. Barry Brooks as his father, who created a wonderful family environment in his practice and had a genuine love for the profession. Additionally, Dr. Brooks had a lifelong love of working with his hands, fixing things, and communicating with other people all of these elements can be found in the dental field, and he realized early on that this career with the right path forward for him.
After attending the University of Massachusetts for his undergraduate degree, Dr. Brooks achieved his Doctor of Dental Medicine at Boston Universitys Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 1987. He understands how dentistry continues to change over the years and the importance of staying up-to-date with the latest developments, which is why he also attends continuing education courses on a yearly basis, which have included the following topics:
Dr. Brooks met his wife Debby while in college, and they have three grown children named David, Stephanie, and Leah. Dr. Stephanie joined Brooks Dental in July of 2018 and is now the 3rd generation dentist in the practice! David and Leah both work and live in Manhattan, NY.
When he isnt busy at work, Dr. Brooks enjoys spending quality time with his loved ones, skiing, golfing, exercising, doing yoga, traveling, and cheering on the Red Sox. He is also an avid gardener and loves growing exotic hot peppers in particular. He even creates and bottles homemade hot sauces!
Dr. Barry Brooks started this practice in 1959 in his hometown of Winthrop. He graduated from Loyola Dental School in Chicago in 1957 at the top of his class. Dr. Brooks spent two years in the Army Dental Corps honing his skills and then began his dental office. He did his undergraduate studies at Harvard College, Class of 1953. Dr. Brooks hobbies include collecting, reading, skiing, movies, traveling, and sharing time with his wonderful wife, Elly.

Just left their office. This was hands down the BEST dental experience I've ever had. We're new to town and I felt welcomed with open arms. I can't wait to get my kids and wife in for a visit. Thank you to Alyssa, Michelle, Mary, And Dr. Brooks...and well, everyone I encountered actually.

Everyone at Brooks Dental has been so incredible. I've always had anxiety about going to the dentist and after having a less than stellar experience at a prior dental office years ago I was even more anxious. Dr. Howard Brooks was extremely patient and kind. Alyssa the dental hygienist was one of the sweetest people I've ever met. So knowledgeable and helpful. I'm actually looking forward to my next cleaning in 6 months. Dr. Shah (not sure of the spelling) was also extremely sweet and made everything pain free. Sarah, the dental assistant was also awesome. It was so nice to be able to have a conversation and feel at ease when ease doesn't come naturally to me! Thank you Brooks Dental

My experience with Brooks dental has been nothing but great. needing to find a local dentist for an emergency and also to establish a dentist for future work, I choose Brooks based on many positive reviews. They did not disappoint from the check-in (admin) staff, Mary and Dr Howard all made me feel very welcomed and confident I had chosen the right place. They helped me with my emergency situation in a professional yet comfortable and painless manner, which is alway a plus when going to the dentist. I would highly recommend Brooks Dental to anyone in need of a great, clean and professional establishment!!

I was terrified of dentist until Dr Brooks. My teeth were in bad shape, but after just a few years I love my smile. All the Drs' Brooks are great and the staff is AWESOME as well. My whole family is now a Brooks family and we can't imagine trusting our teeth to anyone else.

I just had a deep scale cleaning with Elise my dental hygienist. When you can hum to the music playing in the office while you're getting a deep scale cleaning, you know you have an excellent hygienist. Thank you Elise for those magic hands and pain free Novocain! Doctor Brooks is the best. They have everything under one roof - no need to go else where. Front desk staff is friendly & my hygienist Allysa is wonderful. Centrally located in Winthrop Center with parking, Highly recommend.

First time going to a dentist office on a couple of years and had a pleasant time. The staff and Dr. Brooks went over the results of the exam/xrays and we tackled a plan to take care of what needs to be taken care of.. These people will take great care of you. Ill deff be bringing my wife here too (shes afraid of any dental procedure) but i know theyll take great care of her too.
