Dr. Jacobs is a native to Michigan; he was born in Livonia and raised in Metro-Detroit. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, he attended dental school at the University of Detroit Mercy. Immediately following dental school, he pursued post-graduate education at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo in a general practice residency. He stayed on for a second year as a fellow so that he could receive a masters degree in dentistry. His thesis was based on caring for fearful dental patients.
Dr. Jacobs takes a great amount of pride in keeping with the latest in education for the benefit of his patients. His continuing education commitments total about 10 times what is required for licensing. In May 2000, he began his path of advanced dental education at the L.D. Pankey Institute. His involvement with the Institute continues through attendance and participation with his Pankey study group that was formed over 10 years ago. The study group consists of Institute attendees who are highly committed to the best dentistry they can provide. They are from all across the country, spending time on clinical skills, philosophy, personal growth and most recent, nurturing the formation of additional study groups.
Dr. Jacobs current learning path has brought him to Spear Education at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry; here he has completed most of the lecture and hands-on courses in their curriculum. He was also a 2-year Spear Faculty study club member.
Dr. Jacobs is a resident of Brooklyn and activities with his wife, Inna, and their three children, Jordan, Leah and Jack keep them very busy. Non-dental interests include taking road trips with his family, hiking, gardening, snow skiing, sports, painting and playing with technology.
Chris joined our team in 2015 after practicing for 30 years near Toledo. Her past experiences helped reinforce and shape her convictions for comprehensive, individualized care. She naturally brings a warm, calming nature to her patients. Coming from an environment where she had to deal with todays large practice challenges helps her bring a great deal of knowledge to our clinical staff. Our practice is a welcome change for her as she and her spouse have chosen to settle in the area. She has been certified to administer local anesthesia as part of her commitment to keep her patients comfortable!
Chris and her spouse, Mark, were married in 2009. They have two daughters, Ashley and Brittany, and a son, Nick. They are all grown and happy homeowners. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her kids, going out on her lake in the family pontoon boat, traveling, gardening, andUniversity of Michiganfootball.
Jennifer, born and raised in Pennsylvania, has recently joined our team. She graduated from college in 1996 and immediately started practicing as a dental hygienist. Employed in the same large, modern and busy practice for over 22 years, she has gained a tremendous amount of experience. During those years she built long term relationships with her patients and team. Her hopes are the build comparable relationships here at Brooklyn Family Dentistry. Dr. Jacob's welcoming office, similar to her previous office, has made the transition easier.
Jen and her husband relocated here after he received a promotion in his company. They have two boys, the oldest in college and the youngest in high school. They love the area and enjoy exploring Michigan. They have always been fans of the University of Michigan and are excited to be here. Go Blue!
Ashley joined our team in 2017 bringing with her 12 years of experience as a dental assistant. Ashley graduated in 2008 from Hudson High School where she had already begun her education in dentistry her junior year through LISD Tech Centers dental assisting program. From there she became a Certified Dental Assistant & then went on to become a licensed Registered Dental Assistant through Washtenaw Community College in 2014. Ashley is Dr. Jacobs lead assistant and is dedicated to patient care and loves to help our patients smile.
We welcomed Samantha to our team September of 2018. A long-time resident of Brooklyn, she graduated from Columbia Central in 2005 and from there got her degree at Jackson College. Samantha has always been interested in dentistry and in 2016 became a Certified Dental Assistant through the LISD Tech Center. She was very excited to accept the position and put her training into use. Samanthas energetic personality and hard work ethic make her the perfect addition to our team. Her favorite part of working at Brooklyn Family Dentistry is the connection she makes with our patients as well as her team members.
Samantha and her husband Dan got married in 2017 and have a blended family of four boys. Her hobbies include spending her summers on Wamplers Lake boating, swimming and fishing. In her spare time she also enjoys reading and golfing.
