Dr. Unchali is a gentle caring dentist who uses the most advanced materials & procedures available. He practices comfortable caring dentistry focused on establishing optimal health, with a strong emphasis on getting to know each patient. In addition to his technical proficiency, Dr. Unchali is a careful listener & will explain beforehand which treatment is best for your individual needs.
After earning his bachelors degree from Cornell University & a masters in public health from Columbia University, Dr. Unchali received his doctorate from New York University College of Dentistry & attended a general practice residency at the prestigious Manhattan Veterans Administrations (VA) Hospital in New York City. He has since taken many continuing education courses, including those in cosmetic dentistry & sleep apnea. He graduated near the top of his class & is fluent in various languages including Thai, Spanish & Japanese.

Yassa the hygienist was awesome. She made me feel comfortable, was extremely knowledgeable and she took her time. The doctor saw me for 5 minutes which was perfectly fine with me. The person at the front desk was also very knowledgeable about my insurance and broke down how future appointments and payment/pricing would work. Definitely would recommend this practice to anyone looking for a new dentist.

The staff are wonderful. Dr. Unchali is proficient at drilling teeth. He is also fast and likes to save money for his business by using as little pain-killer as possible. (both experienced firsthand and overheard by the doctor on a separate visit.) He is fast, when he is working on you, However this may result in accidental removal of gum tissue (everyone loves a doctor saying "whoops" accompanied by searing pain), leaving chunks of dental plaster in your mouth for you to scour out in the following days (mmmm, chalk), all of which is accompanied by his notoriously bad bedside manner.

Highly recommend. My hygienist, Yasa, was exceptionally careful and informative. No wait time, it was clean, comfortable, and every part of the visit was smooth. Very relieved to have found such a great office.

Brooklyn Family Dental was AMAZING! Dr. Terry Unchali was so nice and caring and extremely helpful. The staff was so nice and friendly too. I got an extraction from Dr. Elliott Ostro and he was so gentle and made me feel super comfortable and I did not feel a thing with the numbing injection to the actual extraction both were 100% painless. I also love that the place is really clean and you get seen fast. I will definitely come back here for sure and highly recommend this place because everyone there is AWESOME!

I'm new to Brooklyn and I made an appointment here online. They were so nice and so easy to work with! I didn't have my insurance information with me when I went in, but she was very patient and looked up my information for me. The doctor is very nice, answered all of my questions, and explained everything so clearly. I was in and out of there very fast and will go back in the future!
