The team is part of a group of 78 healthcare professionals from the New York area, who are part of the deployment being coordinated by the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA).

NewYork-Presbyterians 14-member team is comprised of four physicians, two physician assistants, seven nurses, and one liaison who will coordinate between the medical teams on the ground, GNYHA and the Healthcare Association of New York State, under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, the State of New York, and the Puerto Rico Department of Health. The team has expertise in a range of different specialties, including emergency medicine, disaster medicine, wilderness medicine and pediatric care.

You cannot be any more qualified than this team is its a top level team, said Dr. Cam Patterson, senior vice president and chief operating officer of NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. The work that they are doing is so important, and we are so proud of the commitment that they are making.

The conditions remain dire, and we are needed in Puerto Rico, said Jeff Bokser, vice president, Safety, Security and Emergency Services at NewYork-Presbyterian. This is the best team that NewYork-Presbyterian has to offer to go make a difference in Puerto Rico, and we are providing this team with what they need to be successful on this mission.

The first NewYork-Presbyterian Disaster Response Team deployed on October 12 and will return on Thursday, October 26. Team 1 has been treating more than 200 patients per day at a federal medical shelter in Manati, Puerto Rico. The team has seen a variety of conditions, from dehydration and scorpion bites to respiratory distress and febrile gastroenteritis. Officials from the Department of Safety, Security and Emergency Services at NewYork-Presbyterian have been receiving regular updates from the team on the ground.

Dr. Pia Daniel, an assistant attending physician at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center and the Team 2 lead, has been in contact with Dr. Chris Tedeschi of Team 1 to set expectations and make a potential hand-off as smooth as possible. Team 2 hopes to continue the work that Team 1 started at the federal medical shelter in Manati, but their location wont be confirmed until they arrive in San Juan.

Theyre going to let us know where well be deployed to, but it will probably be running some sort of urgent care fast-track ER, essentially between our teams, really manning it ourselves, said Dr. Daniel. Weve got a ton of supplies were bringing with us that NewYork-Presbyterian has supplied us with, and well connect with them down there and figure out where they need us.

I just called to make an appointment for a cleaning. This is Aug. 6 and was told to call back Nov.1 to make an appointment in December. I'm due for a cleaning now.

I've been through the ringer with Dentists in the NY area. I am from Boston which has much higher quality of dental (and health in general) services. That being said this place maintains a standard we expect. They are dealing with a challenging group of customers and yet they remain steadfast in their systems. Some backlog in getting in and scheduled, but once you get in, the medical staff there is world class. Kind, funny, smart, knowledgeable. You will be lucky to take the patience to get into this dentist. Convenience and professionalism. Finally a park slope dentist we can rely on.

They are very unprofessional and do not take into consideration about people and there time. I have been here since 8am and it's now 2pm and I have yet to see someone. Checked in at 1pm and hour late nothing. Make it worse no one comes to check in on you nor tell you how long you will be waiting. I'm very disappointed and upset and very annoyed with what has happened today. I have gotten no apology. Not one person took into consideration that I have been here for over 4 hours. I will never come back to this dental office.

Absolutely Terrible. I called at the beginning of October and was told to call back Nov 1st for an appointment in December. I call on Nov 1st 3 times and the phone IMMEDIATELY goes to voicemail as if they're purposely ignoring the calls. I left 2 voice messages and I haven't been called back yet. What's the point of existing if you aren't going to answer the phone for your patients? What are you doing over there?

I am giving them 5 stars today because my 16 yrs old son left very happy. They made up for the" I only care about charging your insurance" dental visit we had months ago that disgusted us both. He was given great advice, and she really did a great job on his teeth. When he is happy I am happy. I wish some of these other dental offices took pride in their work. Instead of charging insurances and lacking people skills. Patients are the priority.

This is by far the worst dental experience I've ever had. Seriously, do not go here under any circumstances. The care at this place is inattentive and incompetent, genuinely hazardous to your health and safety. A complete waste of time and money. I needed treatment for an abscess tooth. Six appointments later, they botched my root canal so badly that told me to go see someone else to fix it. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE.

They're very HAPPY to NOT see you. If you book and appointment it might randomly disappear, and if you do a walk in, they won't be able to see you until a time that's completely inconvenient for you. They couldn't have cared less about my appointment disappearing, my level of pain and not being able to help me.

After waiting 2.5 hours past my "appointment time" I finally had to leave. Was told there no option to reschedule. Just be straight with your patients when it comes to when they'll be seen. I would have happily made rearrangements if they would have just told me at the beginning they couldn't honor the appointment time & I would be waiting a while, instead of not giving any information for hours.

Read the reviews and believe them. Stay clear. I've been coming here for over 6 years and even I can't get an appt. Told I have a cavity and periodontal disease and need cleaning every 3months. Well I can't even get an appt. Told to call back on the 1st. Don't fall for it! It's game. You call back on the 1st and then they schedule you for 2 months later or tell you it's full up. Call back next month. All the doctors are interns that barely know what they are doing with no real oversight. It's cleaning is tremendously painful. And if you get a decent intern well within a year they are gone. Start back at square one with a painfully inept newbie. My God. And the receptionists are like prison wardens. Be real nice to them because they hold the key... Oh hell they don't care about you. They've been there too long and know the awful truth. Go elsewhere. They are practically silently screaming this to you each time.

This place is the absolute worst. I Called to make an appt in the middle of the month and they tell you to call back towards the end of the month. Call at the end only for them to tell you they are booked for the following month and I will have to call back the end of the next month. Horrible poor service!

The scheduling department is run by a traveling side show! I am beginning to feel people come here out of desperation. You get told different stories then are told to call first of the month to then call and told it's full for the month. What kind of BS is this?!
