Dr. Nathan Hilbrands is a South Dakota native, proudly graduating from South Dakota State University in 2007. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa in 2013. Dr. Hilbrands and his wife, Miranda, moved to Brookings in 2013 after completing dental school. He was awarded the National Health Service Corps Scholarship prior to dental school and practiced at the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribal Health Clinic as the Chief Dental Officer for the last 5 years. Dr. Hilbrands is excited to be serving the people of Brookings and the surrounding communities with quality family oriented care.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Hilbrands loves to spend time with family and friends. You will meet his wife, Miranda, as she will be the office's hygienist. They have three sons, Landry, Lavin and Lawson that keep them on their toes. They also have a dog, Wren, so there is never a dull moment in the Hilbrands household! Dr. Hilbrands enjoys having season tickets for Jackrabbit football, fishing, and playing sports in his spare time. He also coaches Special Olympics basketball and softball in Brookings.
Nikki grew up in Elkton, SD. She graduated from Lake Area Technical Institute for Dental Assisting in 2013. She enjoys spending time with her husband Cody and son Mack. When she is not at the office she is working on her photography business which she also enjoys as a hobby.
Miranda grew up in Madison, SD. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from The University of South Dakota in 2008. Upon Dr. Hilbrands graduation from dental school in 2013, they moved back to South Dakota, got married, and have called Brookings home for the last 5 years. In her free time, Miranda enjoys chasing her 3 boys, Landry, Lavin and Lawson.
Desarae grew up in Chester, SD and moved to Brookings to attend SDSU. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management with a minor in Business and Management in 2014. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Luke and their three girls, Henlee, Haven and Shay. Most of their time is spent being outside, dancing in the kitchen and visiting family.
Ashley grew up in Dell Rapids, SD. She graduated from Lake Area Tech in 2014 with her Associates Degree in Dental Assisting. Her and husband, Jared, and their two daughters reside in the Flandreau area. Ashley can be seen helping with their family's auction business when shes not caring for our patients. She also enjoys cooking, warm weather activities, and coffee.
Heather grew up in Hendricks, MN and attended Minnesota West Community and Technical College for Dental Assisting. She now calls White, SD home. She enjoys spending time outdoors, golfing, deer hunting, and spending time with her family.
