How, you ask? Teeth that are in proper alignment create fewer cramped spaces in which food can become caught and plaque can develop. Properly aligned teeth also promote healthier gums and are easier to care for when it comes to brushing and flossing.

But the advantages go even farther. Numerous studies have identified a whole-body connection to oral health. Your mouth actually serves as a window into your overall health. Since oral health issues can become indicators of other systemic problems, your decision to pursue orthodontic treatment is one that can have far-reaching benefits beyond improved self-esteem. Think of our comprehensive approach to your treatment as orthodontics from the inside, out.

The orthodontists and support staff at our Manhattan Orthodontist offices work hand-in-hand with patients of all ages to improve their teeth, smile and sense of well-being. We combine a holistic approach with a heartfelt wish to make you healthy and confident to your core.

Orthodontists specialize in the artistry of orthodontics and attend years of focused training to achieve this distinction. After receiving a doctorate in general dentistry, an orthodontist must also complete 2-3 years of post-graduate training in the field of orthodontics at an ADA approved university. Orthodontists and dentists are very different as general dentists fix cavities, clean teeth, and assess oral health and orthodontists straighten teeth.

The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) was founded in 1929. It is the oldest and most prestigious specialty board in dentistry. The ABOs aim is to elevate the standards of the practice of orthodontia, to familiarize the public with its aim and ideals, and to protect the public against irresponsible and unqualified practitioners.

To become board certified, an orthodontist has to pass a rigorous set of written and clinical examinations, as well as a comprehensive review of his or her credentials. The initial process of becoming board certified can take anywhere from five to ten years. Once certified, the orthodontist must become recertified every ten years to maintain board-certified status.

We LOVE Bronsky Orthodontics and highly recommend them to anyone who is considering orthodontics care for their teeth. They are simply The Best. With the highest standards, Dr. Mark Bronsky is the number one top orthodontist in NYC if not the entire Country! As a person he is kind and caring and funny and treats everyone with respect. That kind of leadership reflects on all of his staff who are also happy and kind and respectful and who make every visit a pleasure. Our children started orthodontic treatment relatively early (ages 7-8) with Dr. Bronsky ... and it was the BEST decision we ever made. At first we were concerned about starting so early but I promise you it saved them their teeth. That is because when one starts thinking about orthodontics later, when the milk teeth have started to fall out and be replaced by adult teeth, the teeth are no longer as mobile as they were at a younger age and cannot be as easily moved to make room for the descending adult teeth. The thing you want to avoid at all costs is the pulling of teeth (this used to be standard practice when I was a teen and started my ortho treatments at age 13). With the new technique that Dr. Bronsky uses the appliances make room in the younger child's mouth so that as adult teeth come in they can drop straight into nice open spaces and this way your child can keep all their teeth. Our children are born 2002 and 2004 and they all got their "appliances" (not braces it's actually a "retainer") in 2013 and wore them throughout 2013-2014. It made a HUGE difference in how their adult teeth descended. We are VERY happy with our decision to seek the sage advice of Dr. Bronsky and his staff. Together they saved our children's teeth and afforded them less time in metal braces during their teen years. Most importantly the results have been amazing! Do you wonder if orthodontic treatment is right for you? If so, visit Dr. Bronsky, he will give you honest advice and work out the best possible solution for your teeth.
