Dr. David Woodard was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he attended The University of Tulsa. He spent three years at the Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Northern California. Moving back to the Midwest, he attended UMKC School of Dentistry in Kansas City.

Dr. Woodard spent four years working as a general dentist with The Creek Nation at the Sapulpa Indian Health Center, where he enjoyed the challenge and detailedness of performing root canals. He went on to complete his residency at MUSC-CDM in Charleston, South Carolina.

Returning to the Midwest, he worked as an Endodontist for Cherokee Nation. He went on to open Apex Endodontics, for the next 6 years. As great as his private practice was, he missed working with other colleagues as he had for so many years. Dr. Mike Strand, a fellow UMKC dental grad, presented a great opportunity and he joined the Broken Arrow Endodontics team.

The practice is growing and Dr. Woodard enjoys the privilege of practicing in a great work and team environment with his two colleagues, Dr. Strand, and Dr. Gibson. He is proud to work for a team that provides the most up to date, excellent Endodontic care in the Greater Tulsa Community. He is married to his beautiful bride Carrie of 20 years and they have 4 amazing kids.

I needed an emergency root canal at 36 weeks pregnant. I called at 8:00a on a Monday morning and was sitting in Dr. Stances chair by 8:30a. After the root canal I experienced some extreme pain/discomfort, and was given access to his cell number for after hours. The next day I went by his office to pick up a prescription med as they were about to close and unexpectedly he and his staff were waiting after hours to look at my teeth for peace of mind. Because I wasn't expecting to be seen, I had my 2 year old with me and the staff insisted they keep her occupied while Dr. Stance did his due diligence. I left with no more pain and a very satisfied patient! Highly recommend Dr. Stance and his staff.

Wow, where to start... First I want to thank the upfront desk gals for being kind and helpful upon arrival. I went into this appointment by looking forward to it by no means and didn't know what to think. There is not another spot I will go anymore. This place is fantastic. I would like to thank Dr Strand and his Assistant Sierra for the way they took care of me on my visit. He was great, no pain quick, easy, and done. Definitely highly recommend. But I do want to especially thank Sierra for her kindness and hospitality from the moment she took me back. As someone who previously worked in the medical field it is important to make our patients feel comfortable and she did just that. She talked me through everything from start to finish and answered all my questions with the most knowledgeable answers. She truly made my visit easy. Not to mention her story and just being able to chat with her during downtime and to hear some of her background was heart warming and truly a strong testimony. Any employer would be lucky to have her by their patients side with something that most people really don't like doing. Thank you Sierra, Thank you Dr. Strand, and Thank you BA Endodontist.

I didn't know it was possible to have such a good experience while getting a root canal. Growing up, my childhood dentist was impatient, rude, and snippy. Everyone at Broken Arrow Endodontics was sweet, patient, and understanding. Thank you for giving me such a calming experience.

I've always enjoyed going to the dentist. I send my mind to a happy place of deep meditation, relaxation. I hear what's going on but I ignore it because I'm so deep in thought. Today during my root canal, the dts attached a severe torture device as he told his assistant to sit back & let it run its course. It kept going (7 minutes). The uncomfortableness escalated at an alarming incline. I did not raise my hand as a sign of mercy because I am tough & figured it had to be done. (Nope) I came alive, from that point on, there was no more relaxing as it washed away the numbing medication. If you need a root canal, don't let them use a new technology called GENTLE WAVE PROCEDURE. It's a new toy a great salesman sold for over $80,000, this office bought 3, they are almost quarter million invested in this equipment. Its rented to us for $85 (7 mins), no insurance covers it & u will not be asked. Up front - You ask the question & just say NO. There only 4 units in the state of Oklahoma. It's not necessary. 3 of the units are where I went today. Everybody else doesn't have it because clearly it's not needed. Say NO to GENTLE WAVE

I've never had a root canal before, but this went much more smoothly than I expected. They were considerate and attentive, in contrast with my former dentist. They asked if I was okay and if I needed anything. They spoke in kind tones instead of snapping at me. Contemporary Christian radio played the whole time which was very calming.

Dr strand was amazing and quick. What I found weird is they charge your CC before they start, kind of odd His manager said it's because people have blocked their cards before. What I didn't like was being watched like a hawk as if I was going to steal or something. Maybe have a better camera system in place so you don't make your client feel uncomfortable next time. Overall, I will be back, because Dr. Strand knows what he's doing. If it wasn't for Dr. Strand, I don't believe I would ever return. I will say this place was spotless clean which is a good sign.

Came in needing a route canal, they found a small crack and suggested I have it pulled by another dentist, I asked if i was going to be charged for the vist, they said No, we didn't do anything. Now they have sent me a bill for a consultation, So I was lied to. I don't know how anyone can have trust in them.

I would NOT recommend this place. Dr. Strand is very pushy and wants to do it his way. I asked for nitrous before my root canal being I absolutely cannot stand needles. I was told multiple times to just let him do it without the nitrous so he doesn't have to charge extra. The real reason is because he did not want to have to work around it. I was quoted in the $500 every other place but this one. We settled in the $600 area being they could get me in before anyone else. Today I received a bill that I owe an additional $350. I was also told it would be a 30 minute process in which it took almost 4 hours. I was charged for a machine that I didn't even use when cleaning out my tooth because it sent a shock through half my face and caused me to bleed everywhere. He then had to resort by cleaning out himself (once again nitrous would have been helpful for all this). Once I finally finished up I had severe gum pain for the next two weeks. I was told Tylenol and Advil rotated would suffice. Upon going back to my home dentist they had informed me I had chemical burn all along my gum from the manual cleaning Dr. Strand resorted to. This place is not far off a used car sales office. Once again I would highly recommend going anywhere else but this place.

First class experience from beginning to end! Dr. Woodard is AMAZING. I have extreme dental anxiety and had never had a root canal. At my consultation he was so kind and answered every question I had. He explained the entire procedure in depth and gave me realistic expectations from beginning to end. The day of the procedure, he came in prior to starting, and sat down with me to make sure I had no other questions or fears that needed to be addressed. He is the most calming individual and laid all my fears to rest. The procedure was quick and painless. Once he was finished, his assistant (who was also amazing from beginning to end) made sure I had the after care instructions and understood them all. Then she made sure I had the office number and Dr. Woodard's cell number. She explained if I was having any issues, no matter the time to call either the office or Dr. Woodard, after hours, to make sure I was taken care of. Top notch staff and AMAZING Dr. I wish there were more than 5 stars to give them because they deserve it.

I don't usually take the time to write google reviews but I felt like this one might benefit someone else who is as anxious as I am and thoroughly checks google reviews before new appointments. I was referred to Dr. Strand for a root canal. When I called BA Endodontics to make an appointment, the scheduler was extremely nice. A day before my appointment, I called back to ask more questions specific to my procedure and Liz really calmed my nerves the best she could. Of course, when I got there, I was so nervous. His assistant brought me back to do the evaluation and she talked super fast + seemed like she had already had a long day (it was almost lunch time too, so I completely understand) but it made my nerves strike up even more to the point I couldn't keep my hands and feet still. I will say she did answer all the questions that I had. Anyways, back to the real reason for this review - Dr. Strand. As soon as he came into the room, he immediately introduced himself and explained what he was going to be doing. I told him I was nervous, if he couldn't already tell, and I asked if it was going to hurt. His response was, "It shouldn't but if you feel any pain at all, you let me know and I'll fix it." Then, he took my scans brought me back to his office to show/explain to me what had happened with my tooth. After he took the time to help me understand the process and listened to all my concerns, my anxiousness completely settled. During the procedure, if there was ever a chance that I could feel something, he told me before he did it. He also spent time telling me about his family to keep my mind off of the work he was doing on my tooth and, luckily, it worked! I felt no pain during the procedure or immediately after (since I was numb) but I did have soreness for about three days after. Ibuprofen was all I needed to take to help with that. There are certain people out there that have a way of making others feel comfortable and he is definitely one of them. Very personable and professional. The best endodontist that I could have gotten. Thank you!

I had a great experience with them. The Dr and his wife came in during a snow storm to help me out. They both made me feel extremely comfortable throughout the process and I'm very great full for that.

I was referred to Dr Strand for a retreat of a root canal. His office staff is amazing! His assistant was such a blessing. I was so nervous and in such pain when I got to the appointment. She was so kind and caring during the entire visit. There's not enough positive I can say about Dr. Strand. He explained everything so well, the good and possibly bad things that could happen. Which I really appreciated. The numbing was the worse part of the entire procedure and it wasn't nearly as bad as I was already hurting from my tooth. Today is the day after and the pain is gone!! There's some soreness in my jaw from having it open but thats expected. If I ever need another root canal I will be coming here to have it done. I won't even let anyone else try.
