Dr. Lauten Johnson has been our fearless leader at Pediatric and Adolescent Dentistry since its very beginning in 2010. His goal is and always has been to give children the best dental care possible. Dr. Johnson completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at UAB and obtained his Alabama State Dental License in 2006. He completed his residency in pediatrics in 2008 and is Board Certified in Pediatric Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Johnson is also certified in the use of oral sedation and has privileges at Childrens Hospital and when needed can take a child to general anesthesia. In 2006, he won two clinical awards in excellence at UAB. First, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Pre-Doctoral Student Award which is given to the student with the greatest proficiency and interest in Pediatric Dentistry. Secondly, the Birmingham District Dental Society Award for outstanding clinical ability.
Dr. Johnson is also founder of The Smile Foundation. Yearly, he leads a team to Mexico where they provide dental and medical services to the underprivileged. But his most favorite thing to do is spend time with his 3 amazing kids: Callie, Sanders and Mary Carmen.
Dr. Lauren Denson has been a vital part our team at Pediatric and Adolescent Dentistry since 2014. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from UAB in 2013. Her sweet smile and caring demeanor along with her knowledge and expertise makes Dr. Lauren an excellent dentist for children and teenagers.
Al Jones was born in Mobile but was raised in Birmingham. He received his undergraduate and DMD degree from UAB in 2013. He went on to complete his orthodontic residency at The Center for Advanced Dental Education in St Louis in 2015. In 2019, he became Board Certified with the American Board of Orthodontists. For Dr. Jones, his passion is to help people smile which can truly change lives. Because he gets to see firsthand how a great, healthy smile can have a huge positive impact on someone, he thinks being an orthodontist is the best career ever!
Frank Cain, Jr. is a native of Mobile, AL. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN in 2002 and his DDS degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 2008. Dr. Cain seeks to provide his patients with a relaxed, comfortable experience, utilizing the latest technology and staying current with the ever-advancing practice of dentistry. He is DOCS certified in oral conscious sedation and a member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry as well as the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Jones and his staff are terrific. I explained my concerns (As I age my teeth are shifting) Dr. Jones gave me several options. I chose to do aligners. His staff took my scans and photos the same day as my consult!! Very efficient and worked around my busy schedule. I am excited to see my end results. I highly recommend Dr. Jones and staff. My Grandsons will be visiting Dr. Jones for their orthodontic needs as well.

It was a wonderful experience and the staff and Dr. Jones was very informative. We got right in and we were able to be right there while our son got his braces. This place is a 10 out of 10.

I like dr. Jones however I was charged extra this and extra for that. Every bracket that broke off (sometimes the same day) I was charged like $25. In my personal experience with my own braces my brackets never came off so I'm not sure if it's the glue or whoever put them back on. Also got charged an extra $350 for permanent retainers on upper and lower. So when I was given the total price in the beginning ($4500.00) ended up being around $2,000 more. Every time I turn around I've got another charge from them, which highly upsets me! Also I'm not sure exactly how much experience dr Jones has I'm now second guessing my choice of orthodontist. I personally would not use dr Jones AGAIN!
