The Britegums story began atStanley Dentistry a renowned full-service family dental practice in Cary, North Carolina. Although Dr. Robert Stanley is one of Americas top experts in dental implantology, a new patient asked him about something he had seen before but didnt necessarily take note ofdark, blotchy gums. The patient first noticed the discoloration as a teenager and was willing to try almost anything to restore the natural pink color of her gums.
After proposing an informal survey, Dr. Stanley found that a surprisingly large number of people shared his patients condition and many of them had searched unsuccessfully for a solution. At the time there was a solution of sorts but it involved cutting or grinding away the gum tissue, leaving patients in pain and out of work for weeks at a time.
