We truly believe that the relationship between our staff and patients is of utmost priority. Our office has been solely built by the old fashion way: 'word of mouth'. Dr. Briney doesn 't believe in advertising and the most important way in building an ethical and professional practice is by creating trusting and personal relationships; hence why patients are on a first name basis with everyone.
Dr. Briney was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana where he subsequently attended Indiana University for his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and four more years for his Degree in Dental Surgery (D.D.S.). Hecompleted another year of hospital residency concentrating on all surgical aspects of dentistry. Shortly after leaving Indiana, he had a practice in Beverly Hills working with the entertainment industry. In 1999, he decided to move to Orange County andpursue his dream of establishing a private practice close to the ocean which is where he is now in Dana Point! He is very involved with the city of Dana Point and builds friendships everyday.
Karrie has been a hygienist with Dr. Briney since he started his practice in 1999. Karrie has been considered by her patients as one of the most detailed and thoroughhygienists they have ever met. Most importantly is her personalcare and professionalism shedisplays on a routine and consistentbasis. She has been certified for Laser Hygiene protocols to offer the most advanced oral healthcare today and continues to follow the latest in our ever-evolving industry. Karrie displays genuine care for the patient's well being and thrives for a relationship that parallels a close friendship.
Marinahas beena great addition to the office after an extremely intense search for an additional hygienistlastyear. Marinahas exemplified the highest standard of carewhich is associated with Dr. Briney's office.Every patient has been overly complimentary in the care and professionalism thatthey have experienced with Marina. Marina is certified in Laser Hygiene protocols in order to offer the most advanced oral healthcare in today's ever evolving industry.
Somer has been the office managersince early 2012 and has had extensive training and experience in the dental field for over 15 years. Somer is extremely personal and goes over and beyond to make sure the treatment coordinating and insurance billing is stress free andeasy for the patient. The patients feel very comfortable with discussing their treatment and billing questions with Somer. Since 2016, Somer has moved primarily to the back office to provide the best chairside experience as the patient has their treatment. Her professionalism and friendliness sets the bar for the dental field.
Sjana has been with Dr. Brineysince early 2015andhas severalcritical roles in the office. Sheis the coordinator for the hygiene scheduling and treatment planning. . Sjanahas a very bubbly personality and the patients love working with her. She is very knowledgeable in the insurance billing and treatment planning for the office while putting the patient's best interest onpar with her own.

This was my first visit with Dr Briney and I am thoroughly IMPRESSED! I had a previous bad experience with a dentist who messed up my bite with bad fitting crowns and Doc Briney diagnosed and did adjustments. He did not push any unnecessary services like the previous Newport Beach dentist and was really wonderful. His staff was amazing: Shy, Shauna and the hygienist Marina provided me with the best cleaning experience I've ever had, no kidding! Thank you Dr Briney and staff for your attention to detail, kindness and making my visit an experience that will have me coming back and referring you to my friends.

From Sjana with her beautiful smile and most welcoming warmth to the literal BEST hygienist's I have ever seen.. EVER.... Have taken away the fears of the Dentist that lingered since I was little. I spent much of my childhood life with my hand over my mouth taking away the innocence of smiling when happy: very soon sadly I became a victim of the good old bullying and name calling that was done by many including teachers, other foster kids and my classmates: From snaggletooth to Dracula ...I just wanted to play, laugh and sing in a very difficult world. I did not have support or protection as a child when those days occurred and there was no comfort given to a crying, fearful child who sat there alone in the dental chair with the weighted X-ray blanket kept over me to help keep me "still" when cavities required the long needles and painful drills. The sights/smells/sounds of these experiences were truly traumatic. So... 8 teeth were pulled when I was 16 and I finally got braces. In those times, I am grateful to have had state sponsored dental cal. The hand over the mouth smile behavior continued for quite a very long time.... With time, there is healing and as a Neonatal ICU Registered nurse, my smile is part of the "tools" that I MUST have to provide complete comfort and trust with my patients and their families. I had some previous, poor dental work (to include a porcelain veneer placed over a grey front tooth that had suffered one of the most horrific and painful moments of a root canal as an adult that was very expensive) that led me to many issues, where I was serendepitily dropped into the chair of Dr.Briney. He has been doing this long enough to know that most of his patients may be there with some serious traumatic experiences. This is why he has the X-ray machine that doesn't make your gums and lips bleed with the old bite wing cardboards that we all suffered through... he has a fancy one that actually plays music haha! He was one of the most kind, gentle and genuine Dentist/Doctors I had ever met. 3 years later... he's the same and every time I get a cleaning... every single tooth is cared for as if they were each their own island... with the amazing hygienist Karrie. The old "cleaning that I had known DEFINITELY was NOT like this. I have since moved an hour away and have zero hesitation about making the drive to my appointment. I had to have deep cleaning done by my hygienist and I never felt one shot, if there was discomfort at all, the procedure was paused for adequate numbing...Karrie used the magic of patience along with the pre numbing gel and there I was without fear at all of my follow up appointments and looking forward to my cleanings ... like I never in my life had. I will be FINALLY completing the journey of a thousand miles (horrific childhood dental experiences, to painful and poorly done dental work) or about 40 years of prayers for that pretty, smile in may when Dr. Briney fixes the messes made by other "dentists" and my most important few front teeth are carefully cared for by the trusted hands of the FIRST doctor in my life that is as excited as I am, to help me... smile. Just smile with confidence and peace. Finally. Peace. He takes his work to his heart, he means what he says and I trust him completely. Thank you Dr and all your beautiful staff who have made such a traumatic past become slowly withering away with each cleaning, exams and dental treatments, slowly the trauma of my childhood is being healed. Terrible dentist overall. Absolute terrible, most overpriced dentist in SoCal. Just another quackpot racking in money from clients. His work was never right, took several visits for him to fix the alignment. Ended up not honoring his own work after several attempts. Charged me $4500 for nothing!

Dr. Jeffrey Briney and his staff are the best! One of my veneers had chipped and he was able to bring me in and fix it in one day! Can't even tell I had one replaced! Extremely professional and makes you feel as comfortable as one can be. Amazing! Will be back!

Working in the dental industry I deal with dentists on a daily basis. After meeting Dr. Briney I immediately scheduled an appointment. He and his staff are extremely knowledgeable in their fields. They take the time to educate patients on what needs to be done, why it needs to be done, and how the issue started in the fist place. I ended up needing full perio surgery which we did in 2 chair sessions. Dr. Birney was able to eliminate the need for use of the scalpel and sutures using the Biolase Waterlase iPlus laser. An extensive procedure became a minimally invasive procedure with the use of the laser. I had little to no post operative discomfort and the results are amazing. I have referred a number of friends and family to him and each said it has been the greatest dental experience they have had. I would recommend Dr. Briney to all! Amazing dental practice.

The staff at Dr. Briney's office is the best EVER!! So happy to have been referred to this office...BRILLIANT!!! I recently had Osseous Surgery (gum surgery) performed by Dr. Briney with a Biolase Waterlase Laser. This thing is cutting edge AWESOME!!! After getting a quick x ray on a state of the art x ray machine Dr. B was able to access my dental issues were pretty advanced. Dr. B created a treatment plan, talked to me about the laser and I felt comfortable moving forward. The laser surgery went GREAT...I was comfortable throughout the entire process (I watched TV during most of it). Recovery time was super quick for me, day one included a pain pill and the next day was back to feeling great. Currently Megan is working on the deep root scaling part of my treatment plan, the Novocain has worn off and I feel great!! Six years PRIOR to visiting Dr. Briney, I had gum surgery on only half of my mouth requiring a periodontist to filet my gums in order to clean out bacteria below the gum line. Afterward I was stitched up and sent on my way in debt and unable to afford to complete the other half of my mouth. I tolerated pain from my teeth and gums the entire six years, in fact I got used to living in pain. Thank you Dr. Briney for introducing me to a better way of dentistry with a laser and Thank you Biolase Laser for creating the tools to make it possible. I've been telling all of my friends about my experience...
